Nickelodeon is moving for a Sea change!
<Bangs head against wall> Just say exactly what the ride is please. It's not hard. Was it the truck ride? The helicopter one? It could be either from your description. Help me out here. Is that the only one gone? Because you said: As in, more than one ride is gone.

What do you mean by the logo. At the ride entrance? Haven't seen this yet. Still not getting how you can say the ride is near completion, when we don't even know what the final state of completeness will be, and what proportion of that we are up to. I'd say we are 5 weeks out from opening, if they want to have it ready before White Christmas. They actually put the entire track structure together in 5 weeks, first to last piece, but 5 weeks to put in theming is not enough? If you recall, 5 weeks out from opening, Buzzsaw didn't even have the track finished, and the station building was just a frame (Though we could tell it was going to have a crooked roof at least) These pics were taken 5 weeks out from opening: http://www.parkz.com.au/update/2011/08/14/278-Dreamworld_August_2011.html

Any mote detail on which of the rides are gone?

Green Lantern Coaster
Bit of an arrogant comment! They have barely even begun building any theming yet! This is all that exists so far...Some cranked and angled posts. How does that suggest the quality of the final product? Remember When Buzzsaw was being built, remember when the station just looked like this: It could have been very easy to write it off that the building would only end up like this in the end: I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at, given how similar the two looked structurally (Like a simple carport) . But it didn't turn out like that at all, the managed to do something that looked pretty good. So, I think you are just jumping on excuses to be negative...For some reason.

The Off Topic Topic
Why is the VIP parking furtherest from the entrance?

Green Lantern Coaster
The track was already complete in the October 22 Parkz Update. Cool pic Ian, can't see it in full since I'm on moblie, but it reminds me of the artwork on a Knex coaster box.

What have your hotel guests said about the VIP passes and prices?

Green Lantern Coaster
I agree too actually...How long ago was it people were saying stuff to the effect of "MW needs one or two more decent coasters to really show up DW"...Come on, we've all seen those posts. And now we have a new coaster something else is wanted. People are making it out as if MW has no themed attractions whatsoever I mean really? What's wrong with MW being at that happy halfway point between theming and coasters...I've got parks like Alton Towers and Busch Gardens in mind.

Better yet, try SW! They've had a couple of fantastic family attractions go in recently, with another to open in December With respect to two of thos examples...PASS of course became HSD, and that would be no different in suitability for families than the old show (And possibly more relevant due to the younger generation of kids having not seen the Police Academy films). And Gremlins became Scooby, which too, is a family friendly ride (The Scooby theme alone aids in this). I think it is positive: I think it does make sense, for the fact that Dreamworld put in Buzzsaw this year, so there is a need to remain competitive. I'd also dispute that the ride isn't family friendly: http://www.engineeringexcitement.com/rides/coasters/el-loco And that's two kids I can see riding it in this pic: And in the left hand seats in this pic: Joz might be able to say more on this, but I think height limit is actually the main determinant of "family friendliness".

VIP pass after 31st Oct
I think they'll perhaps gradually put them up in price. I think a real test was getting them above the psychological $99 mark. Agree with what OceanGirl is saying in that the old price structure of both the big theme park players was probably pricing them out of the very market they were trying to attract (I've got a better post to make on this soon) But that said I think $99 was a bit too cheap , and even a VIP pass at $130 or above is great value for money.

Well, at the very least the ride certainly is generating a lot of interest and positive feedback isn't it?

^Awesome. How far from Parc Asterix are you? In other news, the first inversion/drop on the Swarm is done: http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/313649_132088653561211_115673268536083_97946_352882605_n.jpg

NoLimits Tracks
Putting up zip files is the only way to upload NL tracks on Parkz, always has been. I would like a screenshot of the track however

They might have to build a few more to be truly worthy of that title. A park with 5 coasters still isn't that many in the scheme of things....Plus its still a tie with DW.

Flume Ride @ Aussie World
Not aimed at anyone in particular on here because I've seen posts like in a few times (And on the FB page), but anybody asking for updates directly should be willing to head out and do one themselves from time to time (if they live near a park).

What happens if you get stuck on BuzzSaw
This post is a flop, they stopped it on purpose. That didn't happen to the people who got trapped on Turbine at Walibi, and that was stuck for ages.

Dreamworld Summer Surprise December 2011
With Skeetaflys post it's a bit of a moot point, but no way this job ad could have related to the Nick retheme.... You simply can't design and procure a project like that in 2-3 months, if they were doing the hiring when they were.

What would be the next best investment for Aussie World?
Whilst the ride hardware can be cheap, a non variable expense is the cost of footings, which make up around half the cost of a new installation anyway.

Parkz USA Updates 2011
Aquatica - Part 2 Time to finish this park. Latest photos begin on this page near the bottom: http://www.parkz.com...otos/page4.html Dolphin Plunge So this is the parks flagship attraction, and gets huge lines. I rode it once, very first thing and settled for that. It looks really cool for spectators, but from the riders perspective it doesn't really work for a few of reasons... -Its a fast slide, much like the enclosed river rapids slides at WnW, so you get a lot of water in your face going through the clear section, and you go through so quick its a case of blink and you'll miss it. -There's only 4 dolphins in the pool, so the odds of one actually being near the slide are low. -The slide is dark, so the burst of sunlight coming through the clear section also makes it hard to see. -Water tends to not be perfectly clear, so its a 'blue out' anything more than a couple of meters outside the slide. -Two single person slides, so low capacity. If I were doing one of these I would. -Do it through tropical fish or something, so at least there would be a sense of going through a world of life, and thereby eliminating the chance of not seeing anything. -Do it as a raft slide with those in-line 3 or 4 person boats (Like on the Mach 5 sidewinders at WnW), so the slide has higher capacity, and because it would naturally be a bit slower, so more to see. Cutback Cove Didn't go In because wave pools are boring (Except for the one at Typhoon Lagoon) Big Surf Shores Ditto. Kookaburra Cove Walkabout Waters Anybody can go in there, so I had a go at one of the body slides for the fun of it. It was ok. Roa's Rapids Basically its like a lazy river you swim through rather than sit on a ring, much like the one at the Homebush Aquatic Centre. Was pretty good actually, I loled because nobody there seemed to be a confident swimmer, and they had big racks of life jackets to use. Never would need that in Australia! Fountains, sections of wavy floor that would kick up waves and splits and merges in the river kept things interesting. Solid. Loggerhead Lane A normal lazy river, with a tropical fish grotto, which wasn't terribly big or exciting. It could be a challenge to get a free ring at times. Tassies Twisters According to the signage "It's a beaut"....No, "It's beaut" or "It's a beauty" These two slides were located in an island in the middle of loggerhead lane for some sort of unknown reason, so you had to queue to get a raft into the river, and then queue again for the slide. Seemed impractical to me, so you'd have to muck around a bit getting on and off. I think the Proslide version (As seen with the Little Rippers) is superior to this version. On the proslide version it has the 'corkscrew core' feature that spirals rafts out the middle exit quite effectivley and quickly. On this version the exit tunnel comes off at a hard 90 degree angle, and the slide has a circular inner wall. So many rafts, in particular the doubles, have to manually push themselves around to the exit, since it doesn't really slope down to it. That said, its still a really fun slide. I'll also make a point about the parks pre recorded safety announcements. They are done in an Australian accent, but you can clearly tell it's an American doing it because it sounds slightly 'off'. So the male voice sounds like an exasperated bogan, and the female voice sounds like the marsupial mouse from the Blinky Bill cartoon. After a couple of hours in the park I had lunch and left, because it was fast filling with people and I couldn't be bothered queueing for anything.

What did it say...I know in the commercial it does say "Crazy inverted spin", was it that part you heard?

SS Disney - The Floating Theme Park
Because water slides are significantly cheaper, and weight a bit less, which matters if you were putting it on a boat. Also because if you wanted " best rollercoasters of the world which have not been experienced by many Australians", you wouldn't fit that on a boat.
-
SS Disney - The Floating Theme Park
Part of me wonders how cheaply you could get some sort of second vessel, pack it with water slides, and have a floating water park you could sail around Australia to various summer hotspots. I mean, if some of our carnival ride operators can justify multiple trucks for a few shows per year then this might be possible.....Just dreaming a bit here.

Parkz USA Updates 2011
Actually, on Titan there was a sign (With accompanying cartoon graphic) that said these exact words: SPEEDY SAYS: Speed and safety is the key, watch us beat the clock, and see how quick we can be! (In the station there is a clock that begins counting down when the train pulls in, so ops know how long they have to dispatch to avoid stacking)
