Wet'n'Wild
Funnily enough, we had this discussion when we were thinking about merging the forums. What we'd rather people do is just start new topics for trip reports, new rides etc. We don't want a situation like on TPR where they have huge all encompassing threads for each park that run to hundreds of pages and are ridiculous to navigate. So by all means, if you go on a trip report, start a new topic for that, if you want to talk about new rides, post in the relevant thread for that ( http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=5038 ) Etc.

Good things to say
Don't they normally run an additional 4:15 show if the park is busy? It is advertised with a message scrolling along the bottom of the big screen saying "Due to popular demand, an addtional Hollywood Stuntdriver show will be held at 4:15", or something to that effect. If I might ask, how did she manage that? If you do as they say and pull down with the black handles, then your arms would be in the right position right?

Tower of Terror Update
Logically, wouldn't it be to allow the upgrade work to happen in the morning? Edit: Was that a serious question?

WnW 2010: Aqua Loop, Flowrider, Zipline, Skycoaster
Lol sorry, that was addressed at the webmasters of the WnW site.

WnW 2010: Aqua Loop, Flowrider, Zipline, Skycoaster
Website lists them as being "Closed to make way for an exciting new attraction"....Ermm, you've already announced what it is, so no need to be vague. Time will tell as to whether these will pop up elsewhere in the park. I personally don't care whether speedcoaster comes back or not, but i kind of still want them around for capacity reasons.

$69 DW & WWW until June 30
Lol, 69 dollars, someone in marketing clearly has a rude sense of humour. Yes guys, I've wanted to make that joke for a little while, thought I'd better do it now before inflation sees the opportunity gone forever...

Tower of Terror Update
It barely makes it halfway up the tower as it is, so there is plenty of room to move. Plus at very the top they've got a braking system that prevents it going off the end: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/large/genera...op-and-_006.jpg Thanks for the pics by the way ads068, good to see DW finally are getting around to refreshing older attractions...I'm just hoping the queue gets cleaned up a bit too.

T-Rex's Review: Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010
^But log flumes are a common feature at carnivals in any country so they aren't strictly an amusement park ride, and at the end of the day they are popular and very high capacity, so they can justify the space they take up (I'd imagine one big flume could make more money and take more people than the smaller rides that would occupy the same space)

Naming the new slides
Actually, stealing a name from another ride mightn't be such a bad idea. So they should call this slide Superspeed Cool-Cool Bear. Plus if I apply DjRappas logic, then the name makes total sense. The slide goes at superspeed. The slide is really 'cool', plus the water is cool, and the ride is located on the Gold Coast, and the Brisbane Bears used to play down at Carrara anyway. Clearly will win this.

New Water Slide Types
Another little update, but Whitewater West have gone and done a sort of derivative of a Tantrum Alley....They call it the MegaTube, and its essentially a family raft slide, but it has sections of tunnel that are 6m wide, and the raft drops into these sideways, so you get that side to side oscilation like in a tornado. The other thing about is that the large tunnel sections are in fact big enough for another slide to pass through, so the idea is that you could run a translucent aqualoop slide through or something: Looks like a cool ride, but yeah, the manufacturers aren't innovating like the used to, seems like most of the new products are just partial reworkings of old ones. That said, if WWW ends up getting its Tantrum Alley in stage 3, then this would be a kickass equivalent, but different enough in the eyes of the public thing for WnW to build if they wanted something with high capacity....If it were up to me I'd make that section of slide at the start fully enclosed, and set it apart from mammoth falls that way.

T-Rex's Review: Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010
Nah, Crazy Coaster is the one with spinning cars. It was just some odd wording in the post that gave the impression Taipan had them too, that's all.

T-Rex's Review: Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010
Should it make a difference though...if the harness were to pop open you'd still get banged up pretty badly on either ride Dunno, it just makes me lol when people need to post asking "Is this ride OK", or need to go with someone else. In reality its not going to change anything because the ride will be exactly same, and if you ask other people for advice 100% of the time they will say "no, no, its perfectly fine and safe".... I guess I'm just a big believer in having balls.

T-Rex's Review: Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010
Why did you have to ride it with someone else?
-
Sydney's Royal Easter Show
I dunno about everyone else, but I'm a big believer in riding something before giving a final opinion on it. There are plenty of times when I have been on something and it has been the opposite of what I was anticipating. You can't accurately judge without actually riding.

Naming the new slides
Invertigo, wicked invert, devil drop.... I'm loving all the thinly disguised Cedar Fair names.

Naming the new slides
You're saying that your idea for the Aqualoop is to make it an inverted shuttle coaster?

Dreamworlds Need A Thrill
Why does a theme park have to be movie themed to have a ride themed after one? There are heaps of parks out there that are just a general park, with a few rides based around a movie thrown in....You've gotta look outside your little bubble of the Gold Coast parks and see what's actually out there.

Dreamworlds Need A Thrill
I'd like a standup, not because it would be a good ride, but because watching groups of guests ahead strain and struggle with the loading process is the most hilarious thing ever.

Sydney's Royal Easter Show
No, the ride is merely based in the Netherlands. Can't remember who made it though, I'm thinking it was one of those smaller Italian manufacturers.

Theme Park in Sunshine Coast still going ahead?
^You can open the link in a new tab though if you right click on the link, no reason why a pop up blocker would prevent you from doing that...

Stage 3 is go go go
Well, by all means, tell the rest of the Queensland populace that they should do these things and to visit when it's cold. But when a water park gets an attendance in the thousands in summer and sometimes less than 100 on a cold day then people are clearly voting with their feet in terms of what they are willing to put up with. Though I will say a rashie or t shirt would make you colder, not warmer. Remember they stay wet, so when the wind blows you'd get an evaporative cooling effect on your skin. Brrrr!
