  1. You don't mean that Cool n Fresh coaster from the Netherlands do you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6ssxx7QZhw
  2. Exessive? WnW gets insane crowds over the summer, so to have a collection of slides able to take 480 pph will be a godsend, especially considering they will probably be one of the most popular rides in the park. Besides, the place has 3 freefall slides, so 4 aqualoops is not much of a stretch. As a side note, I wouldn't freak out too much about your name being copied. Compaines seem to do this 'name the attraction/product' type gimmick fairly often (Remember when Demon got relocated to the US and a kid named it Zoomerang? iSnack 2.0....McDonalds Backyard Burger etc) The thing is, I honestly don't think people who enter really have that much influence. The names that get entered and have a chance of winning would be the same names that a company would've come up with in their own brainstorming sessions, so at the end of the day they'll just end up with a long list, and the ride will get named what they would've named it they were doing it 100% themselves. My theory anyway.
  3. This: It's not so much being in the water that is the problem, as you said, the water is heated...It's when you are out of the water that you freeze your tits off.
  4. Why didn't you list yourself
  5. Come on Lylefart, you need to start reading stuff properly and stop spamming so much. Adventura Water Park Resort is not the same as Adventure Mountain, and if you'd clicked the links provided by themeparkgc you would've known that.
  6. How is it any different to theme parks that have conventional flume rides that cross over paths? For example the "Jet Stream" log flume at SFMM has a section where it zigags over the main path between Tatsu and Deja Vu, and there are certain parts where water slops out when the boats pass overhead. Heck, there are even dry theme parks rides designed to soak unwary guests passing by: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/US/Tampa/Bus...80-SheiKra.html
  7. Yes...thats why the photos in the gallery have my name under them Plus, I did say I found both Saw and Rage to be a bit 'gutless' The ride did get bonus points for it's theming...The queue was cool, and the indoor section was on par with the 'pre lift' section on Scooby Doo...The vertical lift and drop was quite good too, but the fact the trains are so small means it just doesn't pace well through the main part of the circuit, and the forces aren't that strong.
  8. QFT . Bah. If a park were planning on building some well themed, 100% indoor coaster then I think a Eurofighter would be excellent for that. But other than that, I found both Saw and Rage to be a bit 'gutless'. I mean, they are still passable and fairly fun, but they are no substitute for a full sized looper in my opinion.
  9. OMG Richard! It's the collision of two worlds!
  10. Latest news. The Billboard out the front of WnW is now advertising that "Four full looping water slides" are coming, but here is the interesting bit, they are throwing it over to the general public to name it. It's an interesting move, and suggests they could indeed be aiming to generate a bit of hype in the lead up. Also, the imagery showed the colours of the slide will be pink, lime green, yellow and blue. See: http://myfun.com.au/Member/MyFun-Competiti...ide-and-WIN.asp The wording on the webpage is funny, go see for yourselves.
  11. We know , this article was written before the full details of the attraction had surfaced...We knew the product model from the manufacturer was called a SuperLOOP, so we thought it was a fair bet that it might be a looping slide. Besides, pay attention to this line in the article: Pretty soon after though some plans emerged that showed it being a downhill helix rather than a proper loop.
  12. Probably because nothing got built last year...Well, Corkscrew got it's new train, but half the upgrade (Orange track) was done earlier in the year anyway. Admittedly I wouldn't have minded getting some aqualoop construction pics, but the whole thing was done in a couple of weeks so I missed my chance. Because it's just not the same, and it's not a loop anyway, its a helix....It would be sort of like saying that Lethal Weapons helix at the end is another inversion.
  13. I guess they mean well by the bag thing (Haha, it actually sounds funny), but the fact it is taking up a whole cycle is stupid when this thing can probably only handle 120 riders/h at best. What I don't get is that it would be so easy for them to just put big signs up saying no watches etc (People are used to strict rules on water slides anyway), its not like it would even put people out because everybody would have a locker anyway (So no forking out extra money to ride a ride), and the main locker area is literally 20m away.
  14. Lol fail/Good troll. That is all.
  15. You mean the one done with that off the shelf 'rainbow' brush that comes in Photoshop Edit: See, even a total photo editing noob like me is fully qualified to make the Illuminate logo: Edit 2: No that was too lazy, let me spend 5 minutes instead of 2:
  16. Video of the Wedgie being ridden by a "qwijibo": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLu_oMZp_KU And another (Both are from the official Proslide channel) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXRL4ayyjvU Wording has now changed to "Worlds best looping water slide"
  17. ^So you can prepare I guess...Especially useful if you are planning an elaborate photo.
  18. Plus of all the rides they could have decided to keep open, they chose the Dodgems and Spongebob Oh, and the Wedgie is done now too: Looks cool, but I reckon Aqualoop will be better simply because the drop from the trap door doesn't level out straight away, but rather goes right down to near ground level before looping up.
  19. In that video you can clearly see both sets: I was always under the impression that the cameras on the final helix were the active set, and the ones up on the crumbling building have been left to the elements, plus in that vid you can see all the equipment has had plates put over the lenses:
  20. I've heard that too. For some reason it just sounds a little bit far fetched for me though, up there with events like "It got stuck in the loop!" (Though then again, there was that inverted coaster in Denmark that had a whole car fall of the track) And then not publish the article or photos? Hiyooooo
  21. ^Worse still, if you watch the TV ad the animation makes it look like a vertical loop. Ah well, we can all take comfort in the fact that when Aqualoop opens it will be clear as day to the public that one (Well, 4 actually) does a loop, and one clearly doesn't.
  22. Come on, don't all the kids these days like the Hamish and Andy style, 'random' humour But yeah, credit for trying anyway. The facebook fans seem to like it, but GoGoBoy is right....They need some actual content or the novelty will wear off.
  23. Here is perhaps a better POV of the Cyclon side of Battlestar, seems to be a bit faster than previous videos gave the impression of, and that fog around the loop looks pretty cool...almost looked like the train was going into a wall of concrete.
  24. Woah, the ride has some pretty freaky TV ads!
  25. ^Well done, you made a joke about superheros wearing tight underwear on the outside. Like anybody hasn't heard that one before Also, please write in English, and not Engrish. Translation: Well, if he's their #1, They're not trying very hard. As for the topic at hand, I remember something being posted on here at one point that DC only allows live action Superman live characters to be depicted as flying, and not just walking around (MW did have a Superman character in the past, and he flew on a wire over Main Street)....I don't know if there is any truth to this theory though, but it could explain why the Six Flags parks don't have Superman live characters either.
