Ride Queue Times
My solution: just put a hinged Perspex cover over the board with a gas strut. My tongue in cheek solution: Smear petroleum jelly on the magnets to discourage people from touching them. The attendant would use a pair of tongs to adjust the magnets.

WnW 2010: Aqua Loop, Flowrider, Zipline, Skycoaster
Agree 100%, say what you want about the slide, but it clearly has the potential to be a smash hit, and a real icon of the park for years to come....I mean, what could be more outlandish sounding then a slide that does a loop de loop? If they don't hype the crap out of this, and by that I mean going to the extent of Superman Escape and having a dedicated website, tagline ("Can you do the loop?") etc then it is a lost opportunity IMO.

Segway's Coming to Seaworld!
^Don't forget the water park and the paddle boats. SW also has skill games now in the area where the food outlets and shops are grouped (Near the train station)

Segway's Coming to Seaworld!
Why would it run along the train tracks anyway? Sleepers and ballast and rails would be unnecessarily difficult to drive across, and I can't imagine it being worthwhile to turn the whole track into a concrete path suitable to drive segways on. The idea of actual tours doesn't sound too far fetched, but they'd probably just be on existing paths and roadways.

What's new for 2010
They're heaps of fun, but deceptivley wet....Ride one and you may well have jumped in a swimming pool.

Good things to say
Yeah, the outdoor queue has a shade cloth roof, but normally the sliding barn doors that lead to it are kept shut, so you never see it. But its right up the back.

Sea Viper - New Ride
^Hit the nail on the head. The advertising for WnW does a damn good job at making the park look awesome, and they run some of the best theme park ads I have seen anywhere. Similarly, Stunt Driver has had a good amount of advertising, not just on TV, but train stations, bus shelters and shopping centers around Brisbane and the Gold Coast have had plenty of posters promoting it too, as well as in the newspapers. But Jet Rescue has had completely inadequate advertising as far as I'm concerned...I don't remember seeing any ads in print or on posters, and the TV advertising for the ride was at best mentioning it for a couple of seconds as part of a 'general' ad for the park....Back in January. I think this lack of advertising is to blame for the ride not having the impact it should have on attendance, which in turn would be impacting on the return on investment. That said, I don't think its too late to perhaps relaunch the ride...Do a double barrelled campaign with Jet Rescue and Sea Viper together...The promise of more excitement could really work at that public perception of the place.

Good things to say
Can we say that phrase is applicable, given what sits over main street ^I thought it was 1 hour to get on Scooby?...From my timekeeping anyhow.(For those of you playing at home, the outdoor switchbacks, and both sides of the main hall were open) For the first time ever the back overflow queue for WWF was open, so to clear that entire queue house took 40 minutes or so. Surprisingly Superman was the shortest wait of the majors...20-25 minutes or so. We didn't ride, but Lethal had people spilling out of the Cinema doors...None of the switchbacks were full, but bear in mind this thing only tends to get queues as far as the ramp up to the loading gates. Agreed on Stunt Driver...It was the best version of the show I have seen to date...very well balanced, great driving skills and near misses, and it never felt repetitive. A nice touch was the way the 'featured extras' were worked in...They actually picked some people who did their little parts well. People have commented on the fact it is 2 police cars instead of 4, but in some ways it emphasises the near misses. When it was four cars and they were doing their figure 8s it tended to just feel like you were watching cars on a slot track, but now you can clearly see how close they come to hitting. Either way, the crowd seemed to love it. Anyhow, it was quite an experience to visit the park on its busiest day ever, the place managed to hold up quite well, and didn't decend into chaos. Another minor thing, but the burger places now use angus beef (But the prices are still the same) so at least there is a bit more value in it now.

What's new for 2010
^Dunno, maybe they never got the news that African Safari World was canned? Ill dot point this post since I can't be bothered making it flow. - I think its good the parks are getting back into the swing of things given the relatively quiet year we've had. Damn you GFC. Thank god WWW is deciding to finally begin competing again. -I think it would be 4 slides, not one slide with 4 loops, because the tower would have to be massive to make it all the way around, and if it were only one slide it would have low capacity. -As for the smaller version to give people the chance to see whether they are up to the main attraction, well at IAPPA at the Whitewater West booth they had this thing on display: (Source: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo...43&pageno=2 ) It has the trap door, but the drop isn't huge. Then again that could just be a tech demo type thing. -As for the SWs kids water attraction, well a splash battle was the first impression I got too. -As for DW's ride revamp, while I would love for a "lot more power put back into" Motocoaster to make it not suck, I think the evidence points to TOT. The other rides don't have a lot of scope to be reworked (Well, they could put stand up seats on GD maybe) -But the promise of a major new ride at DW is what has me interested, it's what they have been sorely needing for a long time now, and they are due for their next big thing. Lets hope they just choose something proven to be good, rather than yet another gimmick. -The white Christmas at MW sounds quite cool actually (pardon the pun), I'd like to see MW surge ahead with their special events.

I attempted to have a go at this today, but it was closed due to water damage. That temporary nightmares/mummy/dream room tent has really served them well.

Sea Viper - New Ride
The kick boards had me scratching my head, because there is no way you could get your feet all the way up there The wrap around plate looks to be a unique feature though, the other installation of these trains is completely different, and has hurty looking bars all the way up the side: (source: http://www.rcdb.com/897.htm?p=13383 ) To be honest, I'm a bit concerned that advertising this is an 'all new experience' is quite misleading and could result in guest disappointment. I personally would've let this go as a quiet update, much like how they didn't make too much of a hoo-ha about the whitewater flumes at WnW being replaced with the new green ones.

Sea Viper - New Ride
I rode this today. To give the quick review: There really are no significant differences with how it used to run, it's still the fun little ride it has always been. To give the long review: -In terms of cosmetic updates, the station is grey and orange inside, there is a 3D sign over the station (Hi GoGoboy!) and a plasma screen has turned up in the station, but it was showing a dos error message....fail. There's no new theming or effects around the ride unfortunately. -The new trains run perhaps slightly rougher then the old ones, but really is a minor difference and it certainly hasn't been rendered unridable or anything awful like that (Collective sigh of relief). To put it in perspective, it still runs much smoother than Cyclone (And I can make that comparison confidently since I wound up at DW later in the afternoon) -Inside the new trains, the footwell is a bit deeper which is nice, the main niggle is that the bottom of the seat is moulded a bit wierdly, so there is a bit that sticks up a bit too much under your lower thigh. Putting on my nerd cap for a second, a nice little touch was that the custom grip treads on the side of the train with the sea viper logo moulded into it...barely visible in this shot: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/large/genera...er_DSCF1936.JPG -Overall, its really just a technical update, and not any sort of new experience really, you could spot a few things like modern style hydraulic harnesses, onboard LEDs showing the status of each harness, the train self parking, and some new controls. So to sum up, same old same old, (But I think we already knew that) the main benefit of the update obviously lies with the park itself given the updated equipment. Wow, I wrote too much then!

Studio Tour Returning?
Bugger, looks like I can't use the tour to get some shots of LW from that side

new stunt show a real let down!
Indeed, there appears to be a 'slo-mo' version of the show that gets run on wet days. Previously the show would be cancelled in poor weather.

WnW 2010: Aqua Loop, Flowrider, Zipline, Skycoaster
I personally won't be shedding too many tears over the departure of Speedcoaster. For me the chief benefit of this one was that it took queues away from better attractions. As for Twister, it was a good slide, but I guess the Aqualoops will give the same feeling of shooting through a narrow tube with water spraying in your face. For me the chief benefit of this one was that it gave us a hillarious internet meme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mavV7DJpWI

WnW 2010: Aqua Loop, Flowrider, Zipline, Skycoaster
^Those two out then? It pretty much means WnW has gone full circle, with no original slides remaining.(And Tte wave pool would be the only old attraction remaining) I wouldn't necessarily agree that these slides would be that visible if they were back in the H20 zone. You can see them, but then again most of us know what we are looking for. But If they are in the location of the twister and speedcoaster they will have amazing visual impact. I can just imagine them somehow interlocking the 4 loops (Sort of like the helixes on the Blue Ring Octopus racer) and you'd end up with this completely over the top group of slides. Though, Is anyone else sort of glad that WnW was able to outbid WWW for this. Lets face it, WWW would have only built the one, so the slide would have had long queues for all eternity.

Studio Tour Returning?
AlexB is right, it's been known about for a while (Since September 25th) , and Tolly even posted the news: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=62335

Studio Tour Returning?
If its supposedly only running for a month then I've got two words for you...Party Hire! There's already a marquee over the entrance ramp for WnW as a temporary fix for the peak period The job advert made reference to shuttle buses, so perhaps they'd rent them for the month too? It would be good if this were a means of testing the waters for a permanent return, hence it only being a short term thing. When you think about it though, it'd make great business sense because as a 'new' attraction it's not going to cost much to get up and running. Furthermore, By the sounds of a number of comments, its an attraction that is in demand anyway, But as Whitsy said ( ) you'd want to make sure the studios always have something interesting happening for it to be worthwhile.

Sea World Pirate Ship for Sale
To bring a bit of closure to this topic, Blackbeards Fury is now up and running at its new home:

Sea Viper - New Ride
Kind of ironic that the selling point of this was the open, low profile carriages, but they've had to go and add those extra bits to the train (Do they remind anyone else of what is on a GCI millennium flyer?)....I guess the monorail and the turn around the station probably had clearance issues that necessitated this.

Wet'n'Wild goes upside down to find new attraction
Somehow I think VRTP might have a preference for Whitewater West anyhow...Barring the Tornado, everything at their Phoenix park was by Whitewater West.
