  1. This was something I was dwelling on today, a fairly simple topic I guess, but do people have soundtracks for rides (Or areas within theme parks for that matter) that they particularly like....Which ones? Is there anybody like me who takes it one step further and has it on their ipod etc.
  2. Finally got to ride the new 'outside' Jetstreams today...Man, I really miss the old ones now. In other news, Black Hole is sporting a nice new paint job...it looks brand new!
  3. But its not even open yet.
  4. Couple of small park updates... -At WnW the entrance ramp is being made approx 3 times wider at the moment, so that stupid overcrowding that occurs around the entrance in summer looks to be a thing of the past. -At MW, the new food outlet on the 'corner' (To the left of Gotham City Cafe, and opposite the HSD entrance) looks almost ready, and looks to be one for the sweet tooth's (Or should that be teeth?).... I didn't get any pics, but its painted pink, and has stripy awnings. Peering in the window you can see it has doughnut machine, display cabinets and a bunch of milkshake mixers.
  5. Whitewater west merely distributes on behalf of Hartwigsen ( http://www.hartwigsen.de/ ) But Klarer ( http://www.klarer.com/ ) also distribute it....Would it be possible for "park 1" to purchase via another distributor?
  6. I decided to rename this topic so I could be self indulgent. Anyway, Westcoasters IAPPA updates have uncovered some new Proslide stuff. They seem to now have a cloverleaf and inner tube version of a 'boomerango' style slide. I think the inner tube version looks kind of cool since it sort of is a cross between a bowl and a boomerango...You can imagine sweeping around that, stuck to the wall. They also have something called a Topsy Turvy, which appears to be an inner tube version of a Tantrum Tornado Alley: And while I'm here, here is another water slide alternative WnW could get; The Mack Twist 'n' Splash. Its bascially teacups with water guns in the cups, and the whole base of the ride is flooded. http://www.mack-rides.com/lang-en/c249/default.html
  7. Well yeah, I mean manufacturers are a buisness, and the idea is to make as many sales as possible...How else did we end up with two Tornado slides within 4km of each other. Anyway, Robb posted this on TPR: Lets see how much of a nerd I can be, and simulate what was behind the sign to see if the words match: Could well be true. Hmm, since when was it the job of manufacturers to go announcing stuff before the park does though
  8. What are you trying to say? That WWW was planning on building an AquaLoop, but then WnW made plans to build one ( ) And WWW was so upset at being undersold that they chucked a tantrum, and went home taking the ball with them?
  9. It was from TPRs IAPPA updates. So basically, we're getting something from Whitewater West, somewhere in Australia in 2010.
  10. But the cost of parking meters and enforcement works out less then the money that gets collected over time. That's why places charge for parking. That said, I don't see it happening, we don't have the same culture as the US as charging exorbitant amounts for parking everywhere you go....It wouldn't be accepted by the public here.
  11. Battlestar is testing!
  12. I stumbled across a blog post which made me laugh, and pretty much sums up my thoughts of the place: Source: http://thedesigndummy.blogspot.com/2009/11...t-deflates.html
  13. Finally found a video of the place...I actually remember the song in the ad from when I was young.
  14. First time I've ever seen Cyclone running two trains
  15. OMG they must have read this thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Proof:
  16. The two coasters look pretty impressive, in particular the F1 coaster (Worlds fastest) looks pretty impressive because its not a one trick pony, it actually has airtime hills etc. I do think the rest of the park gives the impression that they were struggling for ride ideas...Car engine boat ride? Come off it. Bear in mind this park is in Abu Dhabi and not Dubai.
  17. Let us cast our minds back to Kamikaze. It was approved early June, and didn't open until the 2nd of October, so 3 and a half months basically. 2 Months before opening I can remember it being nothing more than dirt. If this is actually happening, you wouldn't see any construction till the new year.
  18. Course it can be worse, at least HSD has explosions and shit.
  19. Some googling turned up some details of the show, some of the wording is slightly different to what Richo got:
  20. ^Once upon a time rashies weren't allowed on Twister and the old Speed Slide, and you were told to remove it and hold onto it, so I doubt it would be classified as a 'loose item'.
  21. What do you know about programming?
  22. Obviously nobody replied because they haven't seen anything or haven't been....Don't pester I mean, if people notice tiny little things like a drain at MW being smelly and post about it then they are definitely going to post about more major stuff like a new train, provided it's actually there. You could use your VIP pass and go to SW and have a look....
  23. Vekoma.... Intamin inverted coasters look pretty different to LW, since they use the 'boxy' truss type track like on Superman:
  24. It was a variant of this style of photo ...I was trying to recreate the napisan commerical, and had gone to the effort getting the container, and producing a towel with grass, coffee and red wine etc on it, but I discovered that even moving at moderate speed causes the towel to flap around and fail. We never rode lethal weapon either, so my 'bubble wrap head padding' photo never got a look in
