  1. The non included drink thing doesn't sound correct to me for some reason...Did they simply forget to give you a drink with your meal? Or is it now up on the menu (no drink pictured with the meals) with staff telling you drinks are extra?
  2. Because demolishing train stabling facilities would be such a useful step forward for the efficiency of the train network.
  3. ^I remember when Wonderland closed people on here were saying Space Probe should have been moved to Luna Park.
  4. I guess nobody would know then...If it isn't on Parkz then the parks probably haven't released the stat. Perhaps fire up Google earth, and measure using the ruler tool (in path mode) and just trace over the layout, and that would give a rough idea. If you wanted to be really accurate, you could measure the horizontal distance covered by the drops, lifts etc, then get the drop height stat off the database, and then use Pythagoras to work out how much distance you cover on the drop track, lift track etc.
  5. I never really had it happen though....Whenever I go to WnW the Jetstreams are one of the things I'll 'whore' because of the short queue and good ride experience, so even multiple rides weren't causing the damage you speak of.
  6. Pussbags!
  7. If I can make a little observation, but I think it drew less of a response simply because a lot of people on Parkz are somewhat indifferent to Sea World...At the time of this post the DW forum had 524 Topics, the SW forum had 93.
  8. But DjRappa already summed it up perfectly: Can't you see the difference? If DW were to open a new coaster and a new animal exhibit in the same year as an upcharge then nobody would care....As far us visitors are concerned there is plenty to justify their higher ticket prices. But this is not the case, we're paying more at the gate, but at the same time paying again to use the newest stuff, and the newest stuff isn't as good as a proper big ride. It doesn't help either that the last good ride at DW opened back in 2004.
  9. But wouldn't having more animals make the US Seaworld worse, because that's more poor animals trapped in captivity? PS, at Dreamworld, do you steer clear of Tiger Island and the Australian Wildlife Experience?
  10. And yet you said that the US SeaWorlds are good because they have a killer whale in captivity:
  11. OK, lets compare the rides between our Sea World, and SeaWorld San Diego Sea World -Sesame St Beach -Corkscrew -Jet Rescue -Vikings Revenge -Bermuda Triangle -Pirate Ship -Monorail -Train -Skyway -Planet SOS 4d -Water Park (Upcharge) SeaWorld San Diego -Sesame St Bay of Play -Journey to Atlantis -Shipwreck Rapids -Wild Arctic -RL Stines Lighthouse 4d -Skyride (Upcharge) -Observation Tower (Upcharge) Our Sea World has more rides than San Diego. SeaWorld in Orlando has: -Kraken -Manta (Under Construction) -Shamu Express Coaster -Journey to Atlantis -Shamu's Happy Harbour -Wild Arctic -Sky Tower (Upcharge) -Paddle Boats (Upcharge) Granted, SeaWorld Orlando does have more impressive rides, but at the same time they get 5.8 Mil guests per year (so more than quadruple Sea World's attendance) , and are competing with Disney and Universal, so naturally the stakes are higher.
  12. But people in general didn't like the idea of it moving to extra cost, myself included: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=4477
  13. Yeah, but an animal exhibit is still something to do, and very much something people would expect coming to a place called Sea World. I think you'll find that the second most recent ride at Sea World was in 2006 (The Sea World Eye)
  14. My position that I have always held is that I don't have a problem with upcharges per se, but what I do have a problem with is DWs strategy of using them as a substitute for proper rides and attractions being added on a consistent basis. SW may have an upcharges, but at the same time they have just opened a new roller coaster, and a new animal exhibit, so there is a fair bit more you can do without paying extra. Actually, it has been known for over 3 months on this website: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=4477 PS, 'youse' isn't a real word.
  15. Is Crispy Creme a bad rip off of Krispy Kreme? Sort of like Dreamy Donuts?
  16. I'm not so sure, at a theme park you have a few thousand captive visitors, who generally all do their lunch buying over a concentrated period, so the ability to serve lots of people quickly is crucial, and I think this is where a Subway would fall flat, since the nature of the place is a bit slower paced than most fast food. PS, Can I have a rant? Why do Subway have aura that they are 'good' and that mere mortal fast food places are 'bad'?...They are just as corporate as any other, just as prevalent , they have plenty of unhealthy things on the menu too, and aren't any more 'fresh' than other chains. I guess they just have a good marketing department. I mean, at uni they are opening a Subway on campus next week....I bet if it was McDonalds or whatever people would be picketing it or something.
  17. To me, this attraction sounds like an interactive dark ride, without the ride.
  18. We haven't had to say goodbye to them have we? The outside jet streams were up there with Tornado as my favourite things in the park. Though if they are up for replacement then clearly and substitute would have to end up being pretty good, given the height they have to work with.
  19. Educated people?
  20. Link is here: http://www.dreamworld.com.au/content/drw_2...sp?name=WhatsOn Better still, I've moved the posts into the existing laser tag topic.
  21. Geeze, CM is 3 months late on this one. Personally, I hope they are using this a way of testing the water in terms of how guests react to an on-site water park. If it is a success, then I'd like to see them demolish the whole lot (bar the 'plunge' given it slots in down the side and takes up little space) From there, establish a new and better, "mini aquatica" style park (with say about 3 slides, with an underwater slide being the main feature), that way the resort offers guests something new and very unique to the gold coast, and SW visitors have a water park that is genuinely worth upgrading to visit. Naturally, the water park could be designed to be compact, so that valuable expansion space freed up. On another note, has the plug resulted in an increase in traffic Richo?
  22. The equipment was being put in around new years day.
  23. ^Employee pay just goes by when you clock in and out....You aren't expected to work without pay.
