  1. Three justice leagues is a good thing right? SF Desparatley lacks good family rides, and good dark rides. The JL ones are one of the best out there. Suprised about the lack of an RMC though...I would have thought the Boss at SF St Louis or Monstre at La Ronde would have been prime candidates.
  2. Hah its funny. I guess it's because it's all repeats of previous years attractions...But their Justice League rides are great! And the Joker 4D freespin coasters are pretty fun too, and popular with guests. Though SF St Louis got shafted.....they're getting a Disko.
  3. ^Doesn't have to be a direct clone of the one in China though does it? Coasters can do these things called turns lol, that help them fit onto sites.
  4. Youve changed your tune since the start of the thread!
  5. Basically your options are. San Fran....Air NZ and Qantas go there L.A....Everyone. Dallas Fort Worth....Just Qantas. Vancouver also has direct flights from Aus, but no worthwhile parks are there. SF over texas is not that far from DFW.... both the airport and the park are halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth. 4.5h south in San Antonio is SF fiesta texas and SW San Antonio...im visiting both parks next weekend so ill let you know how they are.
  6. To be fair, wouldn't maintaining any amusement ride (Especially tall ones) be a challenge?
  7. The thing is real brickwork probably isnt cheaper because the cost to import American size bricks to get the correct 'look' would be more than fibreglass of the same proportions.
  8. Basically the major parks tend to be in clusters with each 2-3h apart. Try www.coast2coaster.eu , and set the slider to the 4-18 coaster range to get a map of all the majors. If you were seeing parks around Cedar Point, you could also do Canadas Wonderland, Darien Lake, Kennywood, Waldameer, Cedar Point, King's Island, Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World. If you were going to Dollywood then Carowinds and SF Over Georgia are nearby. There are a lot of parks clustered in the Northeast, starting with Busch Williamsburg, Kings Dominion, SF America, Hersheypark, Knoebels, Dorney Park, SF Great Adventure, Coney Island, Lake Compounce and SF New England.
  9. I think its stupid on Pandemonium. Basically nobody does the gentle cycle, so every 4-5 cycles the hard style queue is made to wait so a handful of six or so guests get their soft ride. The rest of the seats are empty.
  10. I think they should. Its not like looping coasters have a bypass track around the inversions for people who don't want to invert. Point is, every flat ride is capable of a gentle cycle, but the vast majority of installations dont offer it.
  11. He did at SFGAdv and SFNE SFGAdv only just got a joker ride this year, meanwhile Bizzaro opened in 2009.
  12. Isn't landscaping literally the last thing done on any new ride or themed area?
  13. Everyone will probably gravitate towards the Perfect Storm rather than Funnel Web, because it'll be the "better" slide. I dont understand why a small park like Jamberoo isnt aiming for more diversity in their masterplan, like the other small parks in Aus. Instead its two lazy rivers, two dark mammoth slides, now two tornadoes. Fun fact: one water park already has two Tornado slides...Rapids water park in FL has a conventional Tornado 60, and a dark Tornado 45. Final note: Back when Kraken was being hyped up for Adventure world, this is basically what I was expecting/hoping they would build .
  14. This reminds me of when Cedar Fair started putting B&M gigas after building B&M hypers. Looks cool, but que? Will the Tornado be an enclosed one with lighting effects? Why didn't they finish off with an enclosed Behemoth bowl like at WnW Orlando? That would have worked with the theme.
  15. Looks good, would have to be one of the longest Waves out there due to that open air section before the helix, but I think if they had shunted the whole tower a few meters further north they would be able to mirror the landing pool and add a second slide utilising the conveyor at some point in the future more easily. I wonder if in the long term they'll remove the go karts? It's a huge plot of nice flat land in an otherwise heavily sloped park and you can easily imagine 4 or 5 slide complexes being arranged around the edge of that bowl of land, with a wave pool or lazy river in the middle.
  16. I know I shouldn't laugh, but I always find it funny when I read trip reports on here where people skip key attractions. Get good.
  17. Nooooooooooo:
  18. Why is it really relevant that Other than vaguely knowing Twilight Zone was an old TV show, I don't think that really matters...it's a consistently popular ride, and the story makes sense to anyone, no matter when they were born. The way the Disneysea ride does it, without referencing the TV show should be proof of that surely?
  19. As far as I know the theme park implentations are fairly robust. On Air i think it's attached to the train. At SF you basically look like you're partaking in BDSM because it has a chin strap, plus an additional lanyard around the neck.
  20. ^Motion simulators can generate a bit of movement, but its not like a simulator can pull 4g, the real feeling of dropping etc. Simulators tend to primarily have the screen in front of you, but the immersive tunnel type ones are a step in the right direction I guess. But with VR you can have true 360, interactivity, and you could even do easter eggs that you have look around at certain points in the ride to notice.
  21. But its like saying, why theme a coaster? (Since often the intent of immersive theming is to create a sense of being in a different time or place) But the reason theming gets done, or VR, or onboard audio etc get done on coasters is to enhance the experience or create a unique offering.
  22. What is the DC Comics Super Hero hub though?
