  1. Im surprised that there are locals on Parkz who haven't willingly ridden every coaster at the Gold Coast parks. :S
  2. AlexB I don't see the issue, they're called "fast food" chains, not "fast main meal" chains. They're all places you can duck into and grab something to eat within a few minutes. So you get 'food' in a 'fast' manner. In the context of this discussion, somewhere like Wendy's is relevant, because theme parks have ice cream parlours, which may or may not be a franchise.
  3. Wendy's were big in the 90s. .....I liked those agro decorated cones.
  4. But again, WnW gets massive crowds, so people clearly do think its worth an hours drive from Brisbane for a water park experience.
  5. At Wet n Wild in peak I've seen Mammoth Falls run with a grouper. A system of having circles on the ground, with a staff member making up groups of 4 is how it's done. re single riders, at some six flags parks they have a shared single rider and express queue, worked fine. On Tornado slides, a great means of boosting capacity is getting guests to load safely and quickly. Proslide cloverleaf rafts arent intuitive in terms of loading, so you see people trying to step on the edge or middle, or try to stand in the holes then somehow awkwardly sit down, or worse stumble over. Clear staff instructions and graphic signage telling people to "back in sideways, bottom in first, then roll your legs around".
  6. But why do people want theme parks to have the same old fast food as you can get anywhere? On one hand people want highly themed immersive experiences that take you away from the every day, on the other hand people are content with a big Mac again? I think unique food offerings (like what you get in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, or Dollywood, or Mythos at IOA at MW Carnivale are the future of the industry, because the out of the ordinary foods are just as much a part of the experience as the rides.
  7. Why do Sydney residents make out its some long drive "out west" to WNW and "too far", when Brisbane residents would be going just as far to get to the Gold Coast parks (Especially SW)
  8. They look like the newest gen Vekoma trains based on the nose and the side body parts that stick up. In which case I'm happy because they run smoothly and the vest harness is quite comfortable.
  9. You'd need to install a transfer table too.
  10. Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?
  11. H2Go Racers at WnW Syd is similar enough to what Fun fields are putting in, albeit built by Whitewater west and with helixes before the braided section.
  12. $20 is pretty typical for a pub meal right?
  13. I doubt it would add to congestion, since theres only 30 or so people up on the skyway at any given time.

  15. When did you ride it?
  16. Curious, but other than the nice color scheme, what makes Tornado at Sarkanemmii so special? Why did Intamin only sell two gravity inverted coasters anyway?
  17. Yes, you can spin as fast as you want.
  18. For that reason Skyrush at Hersheypark is probably my #1, because it just feels like the train is dragging your body along by the lap bar, and it is constantly trying to throw you upwards or sideways. Could do with running a bit more smoothly, though still there are rougher rides out there.
  19. You didn't ride mission Space or Soarin' ?
  20. For what it's worth, "fan turn" is the most common word for what Cyclone has.
  21. Translater Translater Translater Translater Translater Translater Translater Translater Translater Translater
  22. See here's the thing, if you do a pure racing themed coaster, you just end up with boring flat turns, like motocoaster. Plenty of racing themed rides with inversions, vertical drops and so forth...
  23. Locking the topic. Totta, consider yourself warned against doing this again. Post in the existing thread about this, please.
