  1. Sea FM don't you mean?
  2. I think the funniest thing I've seen on Indy was on bit near the start where you are going uphill and Indiana Jones is trying to hold those doors shut...On the other side of the track was a bright orange maintenance ladder left lying down beside in plain view, and on my next visit 6 months later it was still there! It's gone now anyway.
  3. What ones? When I last rode the only real 'issue' you could say is the final drop laser not being as good as the original...I couldn't spot anything else not working :S
  4. I'm not really getting 'Scooby Sucks' anyhow? It's running as good as ever. Or are you just sick of the ride?
  5. ^You might as well, there's enough new stuff this year to warrant the $99.

While we're talking about the Claw, I thought I might ask something that I have always wondered about....How the motors are actually set up. In this pic here you can see a few motors mounted on the left side of the top of the pendulum: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...nstruction.html Are these geared directly to the top of the pendulum, or does it work a bit like a pirate ship, with the motors each having a friction tyre, with this then making contact with a drum at the top of the pendulum?
  7. Here's one for DjRappa, since I know how much he loves this sort of stuff. At AquaStudios water park in Italy there is this ride called Twin Peaks, which is like a master blaster without water jets, you just go down a big drop, and over a hill, but completley with your own kinetic energy: http://www.canevaworld.it/aquaparadise/percoraggiosi.php But look what happens when the airtime just becomes too much
  8. I'd imagine so, a good chunk of those people in those aerial photos are paying around $94 AUD each (The one day admission price). But their per captia spending would be pretty high too, because WWoHP is not just about the rides, but also about having stuff like Butterbeer and Cauldron Cakes and all the other food and drink from the Harry Potter universe, not to mention merchandise.
  9. Not to worry! Got these going past the park this morning. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...nstruction.html And http://www.parkz.com.au/photos/AU/Gold_Coa.../1251-AquaLoop/
  10. ^I'm gonna come straight out and say this, but what's the point of getting the DW one? The only new attraction they are getting is TOT with extra special effects....And possibly something at WWW if they decide to do what they did with the Wedgie and launch something at Easter.... To me the WVTP one represents far better bang for your buck with the number of full sized attractions opening by the end of the year (Heck I'd snap one up quickly just to keep going back to the DC parade before it finishes)
  11. I thought it was funny that they spend a huge chunk of the story crapping on about Madagascar and dress up characters and its 'world first' merry go round, yet give no attention to actual interesting stuff like Jurassic Park etc.
  12. Success! I dunno how I skimmed over it, but SW is also getting an Antarctic penguin exhibit too, So I'm guessing thats is what Shark Attack/Dugong Discovery is being ripped out for. This is actually shaping up to be a pretty solid year now everything is known...Yeah, there's no big coaster anywhere but SW will well and truly appeal to the families with Castaway Bay and the Penguins I mean, I'm a fan of any theme park attraction that is done well, big or small. The Sky Fortress concept art already makes it look like it will be quite nicely themed, and despite it being a gentle ride, battle sails will be a load of fun, considering what Battle Galleons was like at Alton.
  13. I think it can happen on any coaster with strong G forces...Schwarzkopfs are known for causing this effect on riders. Coaster wise, I personally have only had it happen on the helix on Nemesis in the back row, but I've had it happen in ordinary life when I've obviously moved my head too fast or something.
  14. I've heard it could be as late as next year to re-open unfortunately....Earlier in the year I was actually half considering going pretty much now since I'm in my break, but the lack of Battlestar made me give up on that idea, plus I'd have to go back once Transformers opened While you are over there are you planning on heading over the border and going to KL to check out Sunway and Cosmos World?
  15. See, I'm sure I could have googled the song name, but at the time I had gotten home and was wanting to make about 3 posts at once, so I got lazy. By the way, the unknown character I was thinking of was named Cheetah funnily enough, not Tezcatipoca.
  16. Nah, I understand now. In the station there are those loose item storage boxes with hinged wooden lids (just like the lid on an old style school desk. Normally, I think they get shut when the ride is going, but in this case they weren't, so when the train whizzed past the loading station on its way into the sidewinder the wind generated must have caused the lid to bang shut, and since the ops didn't see it happen they had to assume the bang came from the train rather than the lid. This is why we ask people to read their posts to make sure people can understand them before clicking 'add reply'.
  17. In the cool of the evening, in winter...go figure
  18. Sorry, I don't understand what you have written here. Are you saying they had to close the ride because a 'lid' blew shut....What lid?
  19. On one of the floats at DCA (A big High School Musical one) the actual control module thing for the show was actually hung off the back of the float, with a little seat for the operator...even Disney can't avoid showing stuff like this
  20. The picture was just a promotional shot of 'Da Flowrider' at WnW Hawaii. That would be it then....As I said, the paper in question was abandoned at the MW bus stop, and they were giving out copies at the park (Didn't get one though)
  21. ^Ah, so we did have a WWoHP topic, thanks
  22. Wooo, copypasta...I'll write the post like this so it makes sense to someone who finds the post down the track. On todays GC Bulletin there was a myfun promotional slip over front cover for the paper (They are promoting their latest VIP pass as the 'national year of fun'), and it announced a whole lot of stuff we didn't know yet. SW is getting "Castaway Bay", which will contain "Battle Sails", a presumably a splash battle type ride (with 80 water cannons!) The Sky Fortress is a net/rope play structure (like Camp Jurassic at IOA or Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at DCA i guess) The accompanying picture looked really good, well themed with rustic timber, ropes, lanterns etc. It also will contain a high ropes course...sky ropes i think it was called. Frustratingly, it caught my eye because i found a copy of the paper sitting abandoned at the MW bus stop, so I took the paper, and separated off the slip over, but somehow on the bus I left it behind, so I can't scan it in. Any other locals get todays paper?
  23. A bit more news. On todays GC Bulletin there was a myfun promotional slip over front cover for the paper (They are promoting their latest VIP pass as the 'national year of fun'), and it announced a whole lot of stuff we didn't know yet. WnW is getting the Aqualoops, but they're also getting the Endless Wave, a Flowrider! WnW have done what WWW/DW couldn't...put a flowrider in the place where people are wearing bathers. Frustratingly, it caught my eye because i found a copy of the paper sitting abandoned at the MW bus stop, so I took the paper, and separated off the slip over, but somehow on the bus I left it behind, so I can't scan it in. Any other locals get todays paper?
