Balls. I totally want WnW to beat them to the punch and build a Tantrum Alley and Dark Mammoth or whatever, and make them regret stalling. 3 years between new slides sucks. *Disclaimer, Me purchasing an annual pass upgrade banking on a new attraction opening later this year may or may not be contributing to this bitterness.

Dude, listen to yourself! This is a theme park website, so news flash, people are gonna talk about theme parks! Organisational websites aside, a good chunk of the internet is made up of websites devoted to a particular topic, be it video games, movies, football, trains, knitting, buses, fast food, urban development or whatever, and it is these places you go to talk specifically about a topic. If you don't like theme parks, then why do you come here? How can you say what anyone does when they aren't logged on here? Stop being so high and mighty.

'Fiend' NL sim ride
Can you just zip it an upload it on here instead of some dodgy 3rd party? It's bull that I should have to wait around ages till it lets me download it: ...Sweet, ta for fixing that....Really cool layout there, its narrow and compact, the sort of ride that could work in a place like LPM. I quite liked that half loop and twist up into the MCBR, and those little track sensors are a nice touch (They should be in the real game IMO) Only change I would make would be speeding up the lift and removing the brakes at the top, since in real life they haul you to the top and dump you over the edge quickly: http://www.rcdb.com/ig4162.htm?picture=25

Probably worth pointing out, but there are lights inside as well You can see with the end of the funnel is the translucent type, so you get the light coming through that way.

I'm surprised nobody else posted this, but did anyone see Today Tonight last night, where MW was subjected to a beat up? Basically, there was a morbidly obese guy who went to the park, but discovered he couldn't fit on anything, and complained he wasn't adequately warned etc. Naturally, WVTPs response was that it is posted at attraction entrances, and on the website. They then went back did the whole hidden camera thing, and recorded himself getting led off SE etc, having a go at the ride op "Would have been nice to be told beforehand"...well he had come back to the park to shoot the hidden camera stuff, he would have known. The funniest claim they made was that on SDSC the sign at the entrance that has the message larger people may not fit was "small and out of the way" Well, considering in this photo the sign is in an eye catching frame, pretty much equivalent in size to the ride signage itself, and with "Warning" in bright blood writing.... Oh, and Ian walked right past the foreground in one of the shots, lol.

No Limits Help
You can only set first vertice when the track is joined into a circuit. If you are in the middle of building it, and the track is disconnected the first vertice can naturally only be the one at the start. I had a look at the track, and the following things could be improved: -Be careful with which prefab inverted supports you are using, there are 3 types to use: >"Inverted Support" >"90 Deg Banking Support" >"Small Inverted Support" In many cases you were using the 90 degree banking supports where they shouldn't have been, so the track was too close: In these cases, use the "Small Inverted Support" because it has a longer horizontal section, so the track hangs further away from the vertical column. -Go into track settings, and give the lift hill, MCBR, and final brakes catwalks on both sides (Double click on the track segment to bring up settings) -There is no need for the final, sloping brake run to have friction wheels, deactivate them under track segments settings. -The Lateral g forces were too strong at, >Bottom of the first drop >First corkscrew >In the inline twist between the corkscrews* >In the final inline twist They shouldn't really be higher than +/-G, and in many cases yours went right into the red. Have a play around with banking angles, and perhaps draw out these transitions so they dont whip the rider around so much. *This element will probably be difficult to fix, because by its nature you have the track banking against the turn at the start of the twist. -At the same time, avoid banking too much...the final turn is a good example, the train is going slow around a wide turn, so riders aren't pinned in their seats...because its so slow, riders would actually be sliding down sideways. Other than that, its a pretty solid effort, the steep dives would be really exciting. If you wanted to polish it a bit further, maybe make some of the inversions a tad lower, so riders go quick over the top instead of slowing down? A couple of good things to do to check your track.... -Highlight the whole ride, and under track settings make the whole ride a tunnel, then ride it, and if you see any bits of supports penetrating the tunnel you'd know they'd infringe on the safety tolerance. -Ride the ride in slow speed (50% or 25%), but watch the g force gauges for any sudden spikes in g force levels.

Agreed. Please, can I yet again request that people stop randomly accusing others of being doc brown, last time I checked the community leaders on here have being doing a pretty good job of quickly weeding out his posts and accounts. We don't need other people thinking they are being funny and clever by somehow coming to these conclusions because the member in question does something slightly similar to what doc brown did. As a side note, you'd think the text "Joined: 21-October 08" would be enough of a giveaway as to whether jakeman is legit or not.

I reckon the reason I found black hole better is because it hasn't got as many straight bits, just lots of quickback to back turns that toss you from side to side. On the other Terror canyon has really long straights punctuated by really long helices, slowed down by those brakes.

It's funny, for a long time I too had held the belief that Terror Canyon was the better one, but the last time I had a proper day at WnW and did both Terror Canyon and Black Hole, Black Hole gave the better ride...dunno.

^^^, ^^, ^, Why is it that nobody on here can tell the difference between who is batman/doc brown and who is not? His 'brand' of annoyance is pretty distinctive to your average annoying poster. Though, I will point out we have done a yet another banning of doc brown again in the past week.

Best of the rest 2008/2009
Just a barrel roll. Wicked at lagoon is sort of a Dodonpa style top hat, just vertical on each side. I thought I'd post up the 'worst of the rest' for 2008/2009...The King Kong ride at Bobbejaanland. It's a Huss creation, nice idea on paper, but seems way too slow in real life...even slower than the pounce and bounce ride at MW!

Best of the rest 2008/2009
Time to update this a bit: A POV of Blue Fire has emerged, and it looks to be an excellent ride with rapid pacing. As a plus, it has a Superman style dark ride section in what appears to be a Geothermal facility (The Ride is located in the Icelandic section of the park. The other big launcher, I Speed at Mirabilandia is finished and at the pull through stage, though Intamin have managed to come up with a support style uglier than the I beam type they used here. http://www.miraforever.com/index_.php?id=1...to%20completato The smaller European launcher, Anubis at Plopsaland, has also had its first test runs, it looks to be quite a nippy little ride. Manta has been testing, perhaps a bit slower paced, but its a flyer and they tend to be like that. The ride looks to continue Busch's tradition of high capacity coasters, it has 9 car trains, plus a cool little zero car at the front with a fibreglass manta ray. EDIT: Woah, things move fast...a few more updates for you. Anyone remember that park in Italy that was building a mini accelerator....well its open now. What makes it interesting though is that most of the layout is just like Superman Escape, but in miniature: Now there is a POV of Anubis: Fluch Von Novgorod is looking to be one of the best themed coasters of recent times, quite an effort for a small park: http://www.kataplektor.de/bau-blog/fotogal...otogalerie.html Insane, the 3rd ZacSpin is now finished construction:

Haha, does Intamins attempt at a spinning coaster have the fastest lift ever?....At 0:34 that is the car coming off the top!

Corkscrew down for maintenance... during xmas holidays >:(
The quality of the finish seems too good to be temporary....Either way the ride is open, but the job is half done, with plenty of areas still untouched ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/coastersrule/...57616279763159/ ) so its sort of 50-50 whether it goes all white or all orange. Salmonscrew?

But they got rid of the most awesome, airtime filled slides in the park!

Ok, so the new slides will have a small dip, flatten out, then a big dip: http://www.parkz.com.au/photos/AU/Gold_Coa...58-Jet_Streams/ (Scroll Down)

MovieWorld Game Show?
It thought it was funny the way contestants would virtually always be older people, no doubt due to the fact to become a contestant required buying a winning scratchie. I'd attribute this partly to the downfall of the show.

I think its more than just the inversions being painted....look through the palm tree and you can see the turnaround is orange as well. My best attempt at a preview:

Its just the time of the year really...The new rides are 3 months old, so we all know how they turned out. At the same time the new rides for this year are still largely unknown, so there is not much to talk about in that respect.
