  1. So if it's supposedly Italian Job themed, then why are they using Evo's and not Minis?
  2. I think we can sort of give this a rest. It seems pretty clear to me Wyncenuros is not the same person, you can sort of tell just by the way they write when someone is the same person (A bit like how people picked up straight away when Klassen and Batman made new accounts) and in this case I see no similarities. In any case, if it were Doc Brown then his true colours would show through pretty quickly, as we have seen in the past. Welcome aboard by Wynecerous (Ok, from now on I'm calling you Wyn..easier to spell ), thanks for the photos. That ramp was a bit unexpected, so we're gonna have cars jumping out of buildings or something? Also, about the IP check, it wouldn't work on Doc Brown since it wasn't static for him.
  3. I don't think we really need a topic with dates people can just get from the park websites. What discussion can be had about a list of dates anyway?

-The ride needs supports. -As mentioned with your last coaster, turns need to be banked enough to reduce lateral g forces. -Do lead ins and lead outs for your turns, by this I mean there needs to be a transition into the turn, where the track banks first. Don't do it the way you are doing where the track turns straight away. The reason being is that while the node on the turn may be banked, there is still a section of turn at the start where it wont have had enough time to twist around to the desired angle and as such lateral forces will be too high: Have a look at this pic of MDMC and you can see the way transitions are done: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...otocoaster.html -Make sure the ride is in proportion, eg there is a really wide and gradual drop from the MCBR into a ridiculously small loop. Same can be said about having a 100m wide overbanked turn leading into a small corkscrew. -At the same time avoid excessivley long and wide turns, like the ones near the start of the ride, since they are so gradual the turn feels boring. -It generally works better to arrange elements in order of size, eg have bigger inversions early in the ride with smaller ones later on (because the train is running out of kinetic energy) In your ride the small corkscrew is ahead of a larger zero g roll, which means the corkscrew is taken with excessive speed. -Avoid sharp jerky moments like the entry into the corskscrew. Try to smooth it out. A big help in this respect is the smooth tool (Edit>Smooth...or you can press Ctrl+G), just highlight the segments you want to smooth out, hit smooth, and the program will do it for you. It tends to work by making the radius of the turn more constant, so it generally works well, but sometimes it can have odd results (say if you were trying to make a part of the ride with a non constant radius, like the bottom of a drop) -Avoid irregular and odd shaped bits of track as it looks messy. You can rectify this by using the grid to place the nodes so the track forms the proper circular shape, have a sort of imaginary center to the circle, and then place the nodes the same distance out. The smooth tool can then help round the curve. For example the turn at the end of the ride should be of constant radius: -The ride still has g force issues, this is a good guide for the range they should be in Vertical: -1.5 to +5g Lateral: -1 to 1g Acceleration....Launches can be pretty powerful, 2g or so. Brake runs shouldn't be more than about -1g. -Have a look at the coasters that come with the game, and see how they do things.
  5. Im guessing nev is talking about when they run one side of Colossus backwards during the Halloween season. I didn't think SFMM was as bad as it is made out to be, visually some parts look very shabby, but at the same time the mountain itself is wonderful and shady. I guess I sort of lucked out and went on a day with queues that weren't bad and Ninja being the only coaster that was down. Operationally some rides, such as scream, could do with improvement. I'd still revisit in the future.
  6. Plus, I think with water parks that 'repeats' are a bit more accepted because of the more limited scope attractions available, and the fact its a new slide every year or so versus a new coaster every four years or so. The capacity argument is a valid one, many slide complexes are built with multiple copies of the same ride to cater to demand for that particular experience.
  7. But clearly you are only doing it to mimic me. Are you saying that you would have put it up the same image even if I didn't have it? Don't you realise, if you write ranting posts, you leave yourself open to negative responses. Look, I don't know, I was nice enough to send you a PM a couple of weeks back giving some advice a couple of weeks back on how to fit better in but you've chosen to ignore it, earlier in this thread you claimed to be turning over a new leaf, and that lasted about an hour. As a member, what are you bringing to the table? Just stop being silly.
  8. It wasn't a ride...
  9. Sounds pretty interesting, I have been wondering how exactly they would pull off the idea of rescuing an animal, since it would have to be a situation that wasn't too unpleasant (Eg no animals with broken bones, or oil covered penguins or whatever) but I guess this fits the bill. It sounds a bit odd though....pressure being released in a blowhole cave? I'm hoping there are some 'animal'tronics in this...a sea lion in the cave yelping helplessly, and then another sea lion at the end of the ride sitting on some rocks yelping happily (perhaps even doing something cheeky like spitting water). Inherently this sounds like it will have some nice theming still to be built up (since rocky caves etc need to be built), but I hope the station gets some love too, make it look like the headquarters of the marine rescue division, with different departments you wander through (Eg boat maintenance, tanks with small animals ready for release, rescue equipment storage and a control room with oceanographic maps and a communication hub where rescue calls come in.
  10. It is by no means a bad ride by any account, I have read rave reviews of it, but as others have said unfortunately it does sort of seem to be a superman with extra hills (visually anyway)... If MW did go and build one of these (unlikely), I would see it as 'odd', but at the same time I wouldn't be complaining. I guess this is going back to that ongoing wild west woodie debate, but what if Intamin did a "mega lite wooden", essentially a similar scale and layout, and with the short trains (allows for a tighter layout and reduced costs). If you did that you'd get the same ride experience force wise (airtime ), but the ride has managed to morph into something quite different. Scale wise it also looks a bit less intimidating.
  11. Yeah, I think you are on the mark with this one mickey (well, the TPR member anyway) Wood is still an odd choice yada yada yada, but I think a lot of the critics would have been silenced had they gone for a steel support structure, though I'm uncertain if GCI offers these. In any case, a modern woodie is something SFMM was lacking, so the ride is a good choice on that aspect alone.
  12. I'll try and get an update over the next few days. I haven't been down for the past couple of weeks, partly because I have been bogged down with other stuff, partly because I knew if I went down the only changes on site would be a few besa block builidngs or some other boring thing like that. Stuff like theming always seems to get done at the last minute.
  13. Oooh don't let Richo catch you saying that! So they had live performers in Scooby Doo? I think you need to look at the topic title...
  14. But SW and MW are $69 too. In fact, they put their prices up first (At the start of the financial year)

My advice would be: -Bank your turns properly. -Make the transitions into the airtime hills less sharp so there isn't such a shock of g forces -Make the turns smoother, and more rounded. The the main thing is to look at the G force gauges in the simulator. If they are reading red it means the forces are dangerously high, if they are yellow it means they would be a bit uncomfortable.
  16. But how can you judge if it was a good replacement if you never saw the original?
  17. So that's what happens when you use gravel on a slip 'n' side instead of water.
  18. JPG FTW. Nice to see in the background that the European set is carrying through, looks a bit Victorian era though. This is probably the part that has me most interested actually, I guess the finished product will be a good barometer how much of an effort WVTP is willing to put into theming at the present time. Edit: And Cadboy, you could just Google it rather than making a one word post...
  19. If the newspaper had said it in the original I imagine Tony would have written "(sic)" or something to that effect when retyping. PS, this whole argument is lame. If it were a typo on the part of the Bulletin it would be a moot point to say they were slack anyway since the whole reason this article gained attention was because they got the photo wrong.
  20. ^What gives you that impression? The developers have already stated that: I'd say that the new concept is the idea of having a sit down and inverted duel with each other. Besides, the Stingray coaster is a compact coaster with only a short train, so it would never do the job in a large theme park.
  21. Well, of course the park would have access to sales numbers, what theme park wouldn't track that data? I was sort of talking about the guest relations staff that answer the phone...would they have that data on hand to tell guests who ring up and ask?
  22. Because his question was whether they were available on the night.
  23. I think the problem with that strategy is that the people at the park would just enthusiastically encourage you to buy tickets, rather than telling you it is ok to wait (I doubt they would know exact sales numbers anyway). Also, Cadboy, with respect to spell checking in browsers, well Firefox and Safari have it built in (Accessed by right clicking on the words with red underlines, (or shift clicking if you are on a Mac)) Internet Explorer doesn't have spell checking (Then again, it doesn't have a lot of things) so you'd have to download an addon like the Google Toolbar.

What, no love for Soarin' ? PS, Mickey, your whole response kind of misses the fact this topic is focused on past MW attractions.
