  1. Am I the only one who thinks Wanda would just build a well themed, but largely IP free like their ones in China?
  2. Coaster..... With a 3m first drop due to the ceiling height in there.
  3. Cars and Alcohol together at last?
  4. A concrete water channel needs a spraycrete and foam mountain just sitting above it?
  5. Yeah, but who cares what those people think?
  6. This one but my preference was for the Intamin one rather than Gerstlauer. I do wonder if you went with Gerstlauer you could put the reverse drop on the vertical lift like on Karnan:
  7. ^You could do an entrance between the Rip splashdown and the Shell, but it would only really be a pedestrian entrance I guess.
  8. Cant really see the attractiveness of apartment living in said location. You tend to see high density housing: -in activity centers/CBDs where there's lots of stuff in walking distance. -Clustered around stations -In locations with a desirable views. I could see some high rise going up at the Coomera town center once that is established... but this is a good 2 is away and has nothing that would attract people to live in high density
  9. I like to visit different parks to "collect" the greatest variety of ride experiences. But if a park builds something good I'll revisit.
  10. I was thinking about this the other day, but basically you could have state themed areas, each divided into a couple of contrasting sub areas. Might go something like this: Queensland Great Barrier Reef - Undercover kids area with small flat rides. The little mermaid area at Disneysea might be a good basis. FNQ Rainforests - The E ticket ride here could be the Tully river rapids. It would start off as a typical rafting trip, but there would be a thunderstorm dark ride section that culminates in a "flash flood" and a final drop. Western Australia Nullabor Plain - An area themed like an outback airstrip and truck stop. The flagship ride would be a Soarin type ride in a hangar. Other attractions would be a few small kids flat rides, including a convoy ride. The main food outlet would be a Roadhouse. Pilbara - Themed like an iron ore mine, the flagship ride here would be a large roller coaster dropping into an ore pit, a B&M dive machine or similar. The loading station would be like this, with a fully themed queue of catwalks around rock crushers and so forth South Australia Barossa Valley - Imagine theming similar to what you see on Furius Baco, but of course with South Australian sandstone architecture. Rides could include a drunken barrel ride, and an S&S freespin called "The barrel roll". Murray River - Perhaps a river port, with a paddeboat ride? Victoria Goldfields - A Goldrush era area, with the flagship ride being a multi launch family terrain wooden coaster, similar to Grizzly Mountain at Hong Kong disneyland. Farmlands - A fun farm themed area for kids, with a mash up of an orchard, dairy farm, with tractor rides, one of those carousels like the one at Alton with farm animals, a kids flume ride down an irrigation channel. Northern Territory The Outback - Could be a wildlife section with Kakadu - Aboriginal Cultural Attractions (Yes I'm aware I'm knocking off the back half of dreamworld) New South Wales Sydney - This might be the main entrance area, and would be a microcosm of inner sydney, with federation architecture, and a street of terrace houses themed around a street carnival. Snowy Mountains - Flagship ride would be "Bushfire!" , a motion base dark ride where you join the volunteer fire brigade and head off down fire trails to face a bushfire at night.A small ski village area would contain family rides. Tasmania Dockside - Casablanca Place inspired area that features Australias maratime history. Could potentially have a splash battle ride around a port themed area. Wild Forests - Tall timber themed temperate forest. Attractions might include a flume, as well as adventure sport upcharge rides such as coaster ziplines and ropes courses. There might also be an ATV coaster like Juvelen. A family dark ride could involve a whimsical journey through a forest where you use torches to spot various native animals, with a score given depending on what you find.
  11. More logs on the bottom of the rapids channel, am I right @djrappa ?
  12. Surprisingly, yes! Wooden coasters have a very different feel to typical steel coasters.
  13. I think the bouncing would make it better. If the rail was rigidly fixed you'd get whiplash because there is no "give".
  14. Theres a small indoor one at the Game Over place opposite MW too.
  15. There's also a shipping container long boards at that Night Quarter market at Westfield Helensvale, though with a smaller menu. Agree that Brooklyn Depot was overrated..I tend to be a bit dismissive of a lot of those places that have popped up in recent years with those dry industrial sounding names, like "General Burger Co." Or whatever. And yes I hate it when they do American incorrectly. like, when you buy wings they should have that sharp vinegary taste and your fingers should be orange by the end....A part of me dies when you get these things coated in weak BBQ sauce. Other general burger points. -A Schnitz opened at Pac Fair...There seem to be a few around Melbourne and Sydney.....Imagine a Grilld with schnitzel instead of burger meat. Again, a bit meh, and the special seasoning they promote on their chips was clearly Maggi chicken powder. -MOS burger have taken the beef teriyaki burger off the menu. Devastated - It seems like Maccas have stopped doing the mini fryer baskets, and now you get them in a fancy paper cup.
  16. Ocassionally you'll get a multicolored drawing where someone has generated a PDF with the wrong pen set on.
  17. When will the raft slides on the side of the Mach 5 tower at WnW get Vekoma trains?
  18. What about the Dirty Harry bar, Dockside Tavern, Bite me at WWW, the bar at Aussie world and so on?
  19. I don't think a 4D motion base dark ride is out of the question....parks like Tussenfryd have them, as do some of the six flags with their Justice League rides. Granted they aren't $100 mil, but parks can always cut their cloth to suit their budget: https://youtu.be/PA_ynBdTUyg
  20. Pushbutton Pls, when you have entire theme parks like Ferrari World, a motorsports area as part of a larger park is nothing major.
  21. Others who live on the Gold Coast may be interested to know that the Game Over arcade place across from MW has put an indoor one in, suspended from the roof over the go kart track. Has a couple of small uphill sections, and even a lift hill. Still not open yet, I just discovered it by chance when I pulled in and stuck my head in the door one day.
  22. Myself, I agree with Joz (As always) New trains are what will make Cyclone enjoyable, and anything else is just showing off.
  23. Yeah I dunno how you can say that Disney isn't your thing and its not El Toro/EGF, but you haven't been for 20 years, and still skip heaps. At Animal kingdom what about the Dinosaur multi motion ride, or the other credits in the park? Like, if you'd ridden the majors and still not liked it I'd understand. But if you're visiting places like WnW Syd and AK, literally riding a couple of things and giving up then its not really a full experience. Would be like me going to SFNE and saying "nah, won't bother riding bizzaro, have already been on a hyper before, plus the line is too long". Surely it can't be that the only rides you like in the whole world of theme park enthusiasm is the Intamins?
