Sounds interesting. I'd like to see how this one ends out like seening i'm a regular Sunshine Coast Visitor. (About once every 2 years in september).

Even Though I hate the Sunshine Coast i reckon it deserves a theme park. I prefer the gold coast i go there twice a year or more

But the Sunshine Coast already has a good growing and Thriving Park. It's name is Aussie World.

Wet 'n' Wild had 800,000 guests last year, so the model is certaintly a solid one. Personally, I think the Sunshine Coast is going to keep on getting more and more parks. Its got the land and its got the tourists, and its got the good location so why not? Its good to see Warner Village get in on the ground floor so to speak. A development like this will only help others (like Aussie World) as it will make the Sunshine Coast a more marketable destination for familes, and the more people on the Sunshine Coast, more people for Aussie Zoo, Aussie World and Underwater World Besides, as they say, "when the tide goes up all the boats go up as well".

About time too, This is one of few Aussie waterparks, it was waiting to happen. If they can have waterparks where it snows in Europe and the US, it makes we wonder why a hot country like ours cant have one. Good luck to them I say, Im putting this place when it opens on my "To do" list.

I reckon a Wet 'n' Wild on the North Coast would do really well,even if it is a smaller version.All it needs is plenty of Jappanese tourists.

Considering America has a waterpark in just about every second town, it only makes sense for us to get another one. I'd like to see some more built down south though too. Australians love water so waterparks should thrive in this country

Not at all good sir, most of the current Wet 'n' Wild's visitors are Aussies.

But would More aussies go there than japanese people?

Went we went to Warner Bros there sure were a ton of Jappaneese.But meh,it's good for tourism.

Most Japanese people might not like the feeling of water,due to the fact that they have very cold beaches and do not swim very much. So us surf hardened aussies go there more

Steve, thats the dumbest thing i have heard in a while, japan has TONS of waterparks, they even had the largest single waterslide structure (50 slides) till it was destroyed in an earthquake. They also have the worlds largest indoor waterpark, so they probably do like the "feeling" of water.

Wet 'n' Wild doesn't attract a huge number of international tourists. Mostly its attendance is made up of locals. It'll more then likley be the same with the new park.

yeah,on our last day we went in to the computer room to annoy mr rees and he instead let us play internet games for a little and do whatever we want,and i cant be bothered to play internet games

Yeah, they havent even made the final decision on the park yet. Personally i think WNWGC (Yes, lets all call it that now, the sunshine one can be called WNWSC) should buy the beach slides, sure they may be second hand, but WnW lacks intense slides and it would help suck up visitors.

I don't think there'd be much interest in the slides at Wonderland, and if there was, they would have got Seaworld's old slides (which as I understand it, is not the case ).

Please people... forget about Wonderland's old junk. It was never that good to start with and it's especially not good now. Wonderland's slides had become very dated. WNWSC will no doubt open with brand-spanking-new-state-of-the-art slides and attractions and that's the way it should be

I'm sorry to say it but I seriously doubt it will be that way.WNWGC don't have any amazingly interesting or unique rides.Why should they do this at WNWSC?

Well, since WNWSC is starting fresh, the slides would be newer. This new super mammoth falls at WNWGC will probably have some state of the art rides scott. Its not like its really possible to be very unique when it comes to waterparks because there are only a few types of slides and everyone has them anyway, and when manufacturers do bring out new slides they tend to sell pretty quick, take the proslide tornado for example, they have already done like 19 of them and the product has only been out 2 years or so.

Show me where else in Australia you can find the majority of the slides at WnW. It doesn't matter if there are dozens of each type of slide around the world because the vast majority of people going to WnW have and will never visit a water park outside of Australia. I am so glad that some of the people on this forum don't run any parks in Australia because if they did they would be out of business very quickly due to spending too much money on unique rides, over staffing, over themeing and several other issues. Remember these places are businesses not outlets for a few very picky enthusiasts. "The Bus is now leaving for Slide Inn, Victoria"
