While not directly theme park related, this recent incident on Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is worth noting given the similarities in slide technology that’s has been used in some parks here.

 

A section of one of the ship’s drop slides (the Frightening Bolt) has broken mid-course, with water gushing from the gap.
 

apparently no one was injured, and the slide has since been closed. Still, it is quite alarming to see such a structural failure on a brand-new attraction.
