Wet'n'Wild theme park makes $6m profit in weeks

That is awesome news! Sure they have the advantage of being newly open this year, but still. If I remember correctly then Whitewater World also did a much larger than anticipated profit when it first opened, or am I misstaken?

Given there was no historical financial reference or basis for their profit forecasts, it's not suprising that it was well over.

Most companies opening a new venture tend to be cautious in first term/period operating forecasts for revenue and profit - it looks better for shareholders and the consumer to smash targets than to just limp over the line or miss. Better to underpromise and overperform than the opposite.
