My name is Tim and I'm an animator currently writing a pilot episode for an animated comedy series following the story of a guy who inherits a dilapidated theme park in rural Australia.

At this point in time, it is merely a labour of love, but I realise I need a better grasp of the theme park industry as groundwork for my writing.

I will be chatting with a friend who worked at both Disneyland and Australias Wonderland through the 80s/90s, but I've come across this forum a few times as well.

I'm after ANY helpful info.

What is the common staff structure of a typical small theme park?

Do they hold staff meetings, and where?

What sort of work happens before/after the parks opening times?

How much happens onsite (ride design, food etc) and what are common important roles at any amusement park?

Any insight would be really valuable!

Often if the park has an auditorium or theatre for shows they'll be done in there,

What sort of work happens before/after the parks opening times?

Maintenance checks, cleaning, gardening, food prep for things like premade sandwiches etc.

 

I know at Adventure World all ride oops and team never do rubbish duties after the park closes. Once all rides are shut down and guests are leaving, they pick up rubbish across the park, car park and boundary roads.
