  1. Hi guys, I thought that this document deserved its own topic- it has huge historical and current information contained in its weighty pages. Have a look at the list of contents that are contained within: There are some excellent historical maps of the site- dating back to the 1800's and showing the original shoreline before it was taken over by the Dorman Long Workshops. There is for the first time that I have ever seen a map of the famed Cliff face Tunnel that was used as an air raid shelter during WW II There are condition reports on items of historical value with the park as per below: I have cherry picked a few items from within the document to illustrate what is contained within it. Its a long document but one that is packed with comprehensive information about all things Luna Park, the site, the items of historical significance and its place within the fabric of Sydney and its importance as an historical site, condition reports of the historical artworks within the park and even original plans for Coney Island and the site circa 1935. Please sift through it and enjoy the info that is contained within it- its not everyday that we have such access to so much info regarding a park that is 85 years old . This was posted on the Facebook site Lost Amusement Parks of Sydney and NSW ( a great site- feel free to join) https://www.facebook.com/groups/348435523186489 by one of the contributors there so thanks to him for finding this and bringing it to our attention. Enjoy and cheers! Luna-Park-Sydney-CMP-FINAL-December-2019.pdf
  2. They are now advertising the coaster on the billboard out front
  3. Cheaper to re-theme Giant Drop as 'tower of terror' since the name fits. Wouldn't be the first time a ride name has been recycled almost immediately after the old one closed....
  4. Some photos from across the Broadwater
  5. The same guy also posted a photo of Boomerang's track which appears to be in Big Dipper's spot for now.
  6. Credit: coastersodaa on Instagram it’s not the best photo but it’s something but we can see BUG is being constructed
  7. Commercial airports (including a surrounding of 2-5km plus additional clearances for approach) are do not fly zones, private helipads and airports operate under a general proviso that you use caution and don't fly near the approach, pad or runway during operating hours and that you land immediately if you see an aircraft/helicopter in the sky. While you can fly 30m above private property, 99% of the time under a recreational license you can't fly over people, crowds, large stadiums, events etc. or fly in a way that is un-safe or dangerous to those around the drone. With all of that in mind - given the amount of helicopter traffic in the broadwater and around the spit when he would've flown his drone combined with the flight paths he took it's definitely dodgy. TLDR; don't go out and buy a second hand DJI drone, fly it recklessly around a park and ruin it for everyone so you can get a hundred views on YouTube.
  8. A falcons fury style revamp would be real nice and a unique experience in Australia, but I doubt this would happen within 3-5 years if not at all
  9. @Ashley Jeffery πŸ˜‚ has been for a while. But as a recreational drone flyer myself, it is annoying when people do break the rules because long term, it makes things harder and stricter for where and when we can fly
  10. More of the track has been removed and the supports have been removed too
  11. Nah, Disney theming definitely is is much better, and more extensive than Australian parks. It's stuff like how Superman Escape comes out of white shed, or on Wildwest Falls the back of the lift hill is exposed. At Disney parks you just don't see any breaks in the theming like that, this means more design, more materials etc to finish the job. HK land and construction costs are high. Disney capacity requirements are higher, so more trains, more blocks etc. As for USS, I think because the park is slightly smaller than HK, and yes more attractions in total, but a lot of them are cheaper, for example something like Jungle cruise would cost more combined than several smaller ones like the car ride, rollerskater, carousel etc
