  1. One ride. Two ride. Red ride. Blue ride. This one has a little star. This one has a little car. Say! what a lot of ride there are.
  2. Stuff @themagician he can suck a lemon for all I care. I turned up in my budgies ready to go, only to be told there has been no erection here.
  3. I agree 100% here. Something does not quite add up. If the ride is the absolute maintenance nightmare that it is purported to be then it should not be advertised as being in perfect working condition. Interestingly, there were 10 models of this type installed around the world with all still being in operation. The last one was installed in China in 2015. The earliest and prototype is still operating in Germany at Skyline Park. All of this does not speak of a ride type that is a maintenance nightmare. Methinks that this could be Dreamworld's spin factory giving a major reason for its demise from the park. I am sure that the ride DID have its issues- they have been well documented- but this is coming from the park that added extra restraints not signed off by a manufacturer on a ride that literally has hundreds of installs- worldwide- I am looking at you Shockwave.....how much of the "so called maintainence issues" have been brought about by Dreamworld themselves and their running of the ride? Remember its not even 10 years old........and every other model install in the world is still operating in its original location. There are 8 X-Car coaster installs and the only one that has been scrapped and removed is the G-Force at Drayton Manor. Not a hugely popular model type but other than that one example, all are still operating. There are 3 operating in China, one in the Netherlands, one in Germany, one in Italy and one in the United States. The biggest profile is of course Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket at Universal Studios in Florida. I have had the opportunity to ride this and I thought it was a decent ride. The harnesses seemed fine but of course being Universal , it is certainly well looked after. Just because the manufacturer Maurer are not actively marketing the line does not mean they will not support the ride installs that have already been built. This seems a bit harsh for mine especially as the last X-Car and Skyloop installs were both in 2015- just 6 years ago. I find it hard to imagine that a manufacturer would refuse to support a park with a ride type that was still being installed such a short time ago. I think also that the fact that there 10 models of the Skyloop installed and 8 X-Car types installed would mean that parts for these models would still be in existence and in good quantities. This isnt a Tower of Terror issue where we are seeing a ride model type that consisted of one prototype and one other install...surely given the number of installs Maurer can conceivably support this model type for the existing coasters for quite some time.
  4. I'm really excited for Steel Taipan because I haven't experienced BF or it's clones before. I'm a sucker for launches and depending on the day can place SE above DCR, so I can see ST taking over as my personal favourite coaster in Australia. Also it will be fun knowing that Dreamworld will have the best and worst launched coasters in Australia! Nifty reveal, but also seizure warning. https://fb.watch/v/3zPq4ix0L/
  5. I see it as, taipans are in the desert, the concrete has a desert tone to it, so i think it works very well as is.
  6. For immediate release to the public: Movie World will have a new ride, it will have a colour and you can ride that ride. Coming Soon™
  7. Yes but theming should be a rich tapestry of finishes, not just saying "hurrr it's snake themed so lets put snake skin on EVERYTHING" The rock tunnels don't have snake skin on it. Needs to be balanced between theming related to the snake and theming related to the snakes habitat, IMO. Agree on Rivals, that's what happens when "sleek/modern" is insisted upon. I'm sure we know a few other recent Australian attractions where that was clearly the driver 😏
  8. You haven't been feeding info to @themagician recently by any chance??
  9. Hahaha no shit!! Sorry for laughing at your misfortune here Magician but I guess I love the irony of how you accept the platitudes for this type of info without mentioning that it comes from another source then drop it like a hot potato when its proved to be wrong!!! 😆😆 Don't get me wrong I think we all would react this way but I guess this is a poster child to disclose all where we all get info from , especially if it turns pear shaped!!
  10. @Gazza shit sorry about that @Brad2912 someone very much did. They are no longer a reliable source
  11. Let's hope not! 😂 I think they hope to get all of big dipper fully assembled just before the 31st of August as that is when they hope to get Glenn St stairs back open, I feel that even if BD is ready to open earlier than predicted they might still wait till December until they open it to the public and give possible previews to Annual pass holders which would be a great offer for pass holders as stated in their website "Members will receive special offers that are not available to any one else like our Behind the Fun VIP Tour and the Luna Perks Fast Pass" I think if previews were to happen it would be really cool but only time can tell at this stage
  12. Given the following snake-headed zero cars, this zero car model tends to come with lights (this isn't saying much, as the standard model can be fitted with lights too): Steel Taipan will be the odd one out (unless the lights are present behind the eye and light the entire eye up to make it 'glow'): Icon pic by Blackpool Pleasure Beach Helix pic from Wikipedia Velociraptor pic from Falcon's Creative Group on YouTube Steel Taipan pic from Dreamworld on TikTok
  13. Do we actually know it they will light up or not? I have not really had any word on it but i would hope that they did even though you would only likely see them lit up at night events.
  14. My post had nothing to do with the ride, just the theming? Also a better dig would be CraptainLazyGuns.
  15. BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHA https://au.linkedin.com/in/bikash-randhawa-a8509a2b
  16. I think I'll be damn close, there will visitors that prefer ST to DCR or even SE because it "has loops" and a triple launch. Im not sure how many people on here have ridden BF or it's clones but it's a top ride in the world with a really well balanced layout and the final roll is the best thing ever, a true WTF moment you have to experience to understand.
  17. Sorry but you are not allowed to receive good vibes from me today. I used them up earlier.
  18. Unfortunately not anymore these days. My career has taken off, so only have time for visits on the weekends now I can assure you, any photos I post I have taken myself. If they are other peoples photos I always credit them. In regards to the incorrect info posted this morning. I was talking to a mate about the new attraction at WNW and he said ‘oh btw I saw they were installing the tower, it’s almost done’. So apparently not. My bad. Sorry @Gazza for causing you to waste time. I’ll be sure to check these things for myself before sharing in the future.
  19. Well, for this brand new ride - take it as a [redacted] in [redacted]. We've never seen anything like it in Australia, and like what @Renae disclosed - the theming will be mad 😉 (after Village saw some cursed missed opportunities when theming rivals - love me a good green grass and grey drainage gravel)... Lastly, don't get too excited when you see that one half of this new ride is, in a way, already existing at Movieworld. As we all should probably know, the announcement is due to come at the end of this year. And seeing that AA is still standing, we may not see this ride open till 2023 (for what I thought was originally planned).
  20. The ride ops told you? So you know about the fire-sensing eyes then? Yeah, the 'i know something you don't know' is getting on in years. Attention? lulz? Here's the last bit of attention you're getting from me: Oh, sod off.
  21. Nobody is asking for boggling good until one of our parks can launch a robot into the sky like Disney can. MW had a standard that is barely ever lived up to these days.
  22. I want to but I’m not actually sure I can, I don’t know how I feel about getting in trouble or even sued if it comes to that on their end. I promise you I do actually know what it is, it’s just the fact I have already come into legal trouble with the park a couple months ago for something related to the topic:(
  23. Someone’s fed @themagician some fake news I think haha
  24. Storm is themed, and it's themed well. More than most rides in Australia it does create a sense of 'place'. The problem is it's themed to somewhere that's unpleasant to be. It does feel like being in a port after a disaster has hit, but who wants to visit a port after a disaster has hit? Most rides in Australia don't really create that feeling of place, it's decoration with a loose theme or a themed style. Steel Taipan and New Atlantis both seem to have that same thing going on. I think 'Story' as a concept is over rated, but when a ride is done well, you feel like you've visiting another place. For bonus points, it should also be a place you want to visit.
  25. Maybe!! It would be really cool if they did!
  26. i just assumed because the fountains look like they go high and low and squirt riders
  27. i am starting to doubt on the vortex about the possibility of spraying water on the riders like on the concept art
  28. I am only aware of most these thing because I have worked for the company before as for my mates, no they are not breaking theirs.
  29. I agree with @Gazza If what CaptainSleepyGun is saying was true, themeparks would only install the same one coaster in every park. God, some people even think a monorail is the duck's nuts.
  30. Hey guys! I have a couple of friends that work at the park and they have been able to tell what the new ride will be And while you guys have some awesome suggestions and ideas I just wanted to let you know that this is going to be a very new style ride for a Australian theme park and it will be themed very cool. As for what type of coaster it is I am not allowed to say however I Can tell you it will not be suspended! :) Its also meant to be ready by around the middle of next year ( I don't know if that's possible just yet seeing as they haven't touched the actual tracks yet) But that's just for anyone wanting to get a rough time estimate, feel free to ask questions, I will try to respond asap.
  31. Construction of the tower is well underway. Almost reached its max height
