  1. That and Arkham / Lethal Weapon also was a much more intense ride, and would have had a lot more stress on the track as well. But yes, that ride had a lot of issues which was mostly due to the Kumbak "Upgrade" if that's what we really want to call it. Given that there are some Arrow loopers from the 70's and 80's still running strong, I don't really think that Gold Coaster is in any real danger any time soon. When we start to see most of those bigger loopers like Viper, Cedar Point's Corkscrew etc closing I'd be a bit more worried. Overall it's a reliable ride, not taking up much space (that could be used for other things) and still gets riders so why get rid of it?
  2. It is quite interesting that dreamworld is keeping Gold coaster around longer then Motocoaster considering how unpopular the ride currently is and how much older it is then Motocoaster but I won’t complain as I unironically love Gold Coaster and hope it stays for as long as it possibly can.
  3. Resident gold coaster enjoyer here (hence the profile picture ive had for a number of years) The ride is very easy and cheap to maintain like all arrows. The components are simple enough to be reproduced by a third party and is still well supported for parts by S&S. The layout being how it is, means there's limited stress on the track, but if need be, more crossties can easily be added to the inversions as bracing (a lot of boomerangs and older arrows are getting these). The control system and electronics are quite new and were replaced in 2023 so the park have financially committed to keeping the ride going for a while.
  4. What he doesn't realise is that I don't respond to him for his benefit - I respond for the benefit of everyone reading his garbage so that they have a counter argument and a balanced perspective from both sides.
