  1. I'm thinking what would be big enough to take both out. Just some random thoughts. Could it be the back car failed and the extra weight of the car and the forces placed to much load on the front car. (But surely it has been designed to carry the extra load because derailments have happens before). I also think did something on the track break and hit the side of it. (I've been looking at photos but can't see anything but what would I know lol) I have even had the thought of sabotage.
  2. I have seen both parks training with the fire department early in the mornings. The last one I did see was at dw when the fire department where pulling dummies out of the buzz saw while it was upside down.
  3. I just asked you a question.
  4. Fine, why do you think this is the same as every other estop?
  5. Lol I think your missing something here
  6. How lucky that no one was injured. Not only did it remain on track but it stopped just before the blocking system.
  7. This picture might show it better. When I look under his arm i'm sure it's not the same
  8. Remember what happened last time DW tried to do a rollercoaster after a racing theme. We got a flat rollercoaster. If they did a Bathurst layout at least we would get to ride the dipper but any other track is pretty flat. I also hope they don't show the current cars because they are all about to change. I DW where to build a decent rollercoaster themed around the V8”s (sorry I can’t stop laughing) then I would like the train to be themed around and xy or an old 05 car.
  9. The first thought that is rushing in my head is oh no they are remove the bikes off MDMC and replacing it with plastic V8 Cars.
  10. As I said this is going round and round. i don't know why you think I have been pulling all this wild crap out I have been repeating what DW have said. If you have any evidence to oppose what DW is saying then I would like to see it. I have also added my own views on the subject which I believe I have the right to. I have no idea of what situation you think I have created and yes I am bored with this discussion now because it is not going anywhere.
  11. Well this is just going round and round. Arguing on the internet is the verbal equivalent of knife fighting with bananas. No one wins, and you both end up looking stupid.
  12. I not attempting to accuse you of ignorance I am stating that if you know how a lap bar works that you would know that a second locking system would stop the lap bar from opening up. What you keep saying is there was a safety issue and a risk to riders. How can there be risk to riders if the lap bap even when its first locking system failed continued to do what it was designed to do? No one was at risk of falling out because the lap bar would still its job that it was designed to do. You keep saying its newsworthy. How is the local paper printing misguided information newsworthy? I don't believe any other parks that have this ride read the local rag. I believe DW have done everything that they needed to do. They have shut the ride and contacted the manufacture to come up with a solution. If DW have discovered a major problem with this do you really think the manufacture would not inform the other parks on how it needs to be fixed. You have also claimed that this has happened because DW is to busy doing other things. Have you seen the comments people are leaving already when they have no idea as to what has happened? THEMEPARKDUDE people have asked you many times about how you heard about this and you have not answered anyone. DW has also come out and said there was no incident with riders that sparked the closure. But you have said a rider was on the ride at the time that it failed so I am asking you how do you know this?
  13. I think you might need a lesson in how these systems work. You keep saying it’s a safety issue but if you understood how a lap bar worked you would know you if anyone rode it they would be perfectly safe I’m sorry but you don’t know what you are talking about.
  14. I agree with you Brad2912 how many times to you turn up to a park and find a sign that a ride has closed for the day it even says it on the webpages that it happen. Maybe WEBSLAVE would like to see the news headline because it would be the true headline. “Staff at Dreamworld did what they are trained to do and picked up an issue with a ride that no one was ever in danger of falling out because of the safety systems” Sorry WEBSLAVE the Gold Coast news has a bad rep for putty out crap stories and I would not rely on a first time poster to get your information from.
  15. Why would we have a real disaster here when it was picked up during normal test without anyone in the seat.
  16. How is it news worthy when while DW are doing their normal morning checks they found a problem? Planes would be in the news 50 times a day if news was shown because a problem was found during standard checks before take-off. From what I have read the problem was found during normal checks and not during a cycle with a person riding it. DW own statement. "They’ve got to keep it closed until they’ve done a full assessment. “No one will ever be in danger because of those safety layers.” "The spokeswoman said there was no incident with riders that sparked the closure." Case closed
  17. In today's news "The Theme Park Social Network" copy other sites news stories and believe everything that they have read without using the thin between the ears. (Without trying to derail this conversation. Has anyone noticed The Theme Park Social Network dude is at Movieworld/SeaWorld every day? I put this down to he does not have a job and can’t afford a pass to Dreamworld)
  18. Gold Coast Bulletin love to talk stuff up. In today’s headline. "BIG THRILL RIDE CLOSED INDEFINITELY" But could you image it. 3 rides closed down for good in one area but still standing. Maybe that area needs to be renamed the graveyard
  19. Man almost drowns on the Log Ride. Water splashes face.
  20. I don't agree with you here sure tailspin gives you a quick buck where something like the TOT gives you sustained return and a quick buck. I have never had any of my mates say to me lets go to Dreamworld to ride the Tailspin again. Rides like the Rapids are the the type of rides that keep people coming back. I ride the Rapids as a kid and would shut my eyes in the dark sections. I rode the Rapids as a teenager and would do teenage things on it like splash each other and now I now ride the Rapids with my kids and it brings joy to me still. Yes when I go to DW I try the new rides but I always have to ride my favourites. Where DW has not added any rides to my favourites list MW has. If that makes any sense. Lol god I'm going to bed.
  21. Don't know how you can say it failed when it did the job it was intended to do. If the system failed then there would be a splat on the ground below. Parts break all the time and that's why there is always a back up system in critical areas. I Say that makes me feel better about riding it knowning if the first lock does not work then the second one will do the job.
  22. And don't forget while in recievership the company overseeing it spent 40 Million on Dreamworld investing money in new attractions.
  23. Dreamworld went into recievership once. The reason it went into recievership had nothing to do with new installations. The person who put DW into recievership could not pay the interest on the loan that he took out to buy DW. From my memory which could be a bit loose on the amount but he purchased DW close to 150 million dollars. He only put in 10 million of his own money so he had a loan for around 140. There was an investigation after he went belly up as to why anyone would loan him that much. I believe around that time interest rates where at 18%.
  24. What's wrong with DW spending 20 + Million ride. DW needs to spend 20 + Million on a ride. This is what pisses me off about DW. All previous owners would spend money to get these rides here. How much would Thunderbolt coast to build today? I would say the Thunderbolt would be a 20 + Million ride if you built today. How can MW who have shareholders just like DW build Superman but DW can’t spend more than 10 million on a ride? Why could Dreamworld afford 16 Million 17 years ago for TOT but can’t find 20 Million today? Ardent Leisure do not care about its customers at all it’s 100% about the shareholder and making money. I know businesses are here to make money but how can SW spend 20 Million while still making money?
  25. I have always thought it was a missed opportunity not to utilise that area. I think it would have been great to have an indoor section then for it to come out over the water storage area.
