Flowrider IS an upcharge attraction. And considering they are having to build a new building for this attraction to go in, I can see it coming close to or exceeding the 1 Million Dollar mark. The equipment alone is at least 60,000 dollars as I pointed out in my previous post.

For a proper Lasertag system from Laserforce is around 24,000 USD and this is what it includes: * Laserforce Zap Tag game software * 10 Gen 5 Laserforce battlesuits * 2 wireless network controllers * Battery recharger system * Spare phaser * Spare parts pack * Laserforce tool kit * Player briefing DVD * 2,500 score sheets * Operating manuals * 12 months full cover warranty * 7 days help service - supported from Detroit, Michigan And each extra battlesuit / phaser set is $1,650 USD. And that is before you have all the optional extras which range from 500 USD through to 10,000 USD. Somewhere like dreamworld would need at least 30 or so Battlesuits to handle the crowds. Lets take the Laserforce at Woolloongabba for example... they have 50 Battlesuits, as well as warbots and other extras. The pricetag really does rack up quickly. It's 66,000 dollars just for 40 battlesuits. And then add another 10,000 for the Robot's etc and software and the arena. It could easily cost upwards of 1 million dollars if it was done decently. Also it doesn't have to be an upcharge attraction when you do think about it. It could just be something that you have to book like Flowrider and they give you a wristband with your game time on it. On a first in best dressed basis, and if you miss out well so be it. www.laserforcetag.com

Which ride should DW get next in Ocean Parade?
Spotty replied to Gazza's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The Thunderbolt building will NOT be going anywhere for a while. I can say that much for free. It is being used as a shop and the Flowrider change rooms, not to mention the world pass gate. -
Well, i'm currently in the middle of doing a Re-Creation of Jet Rescue as we speak. I'm up to the 2nd launch as far as track work goes. So if you'd like I could do the tracks for it, and if someone knows how to use AHG etc as well as scenery that could work.

Corkscrew down for maintenance... during xmas holidays >:(
Spotty replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Bermuda's Fire effects have not been running for quite some time according to DJRappa. He said there was a reason for it but he was not able to disclose it. It would be nice to find out why it has been turned off as it's really not complete without it. It was the best climax to a ride anywhere in Australia IMO. -
Corkscrew down for maintenance... during xmas holidays >:(

Oh fun... I'm heading down tomorrow with a mate from overseas. I can expect the crowds to be really quite nasty tomorrow. I can tell you now that Dreamworld was flat out yesterday, the line for the rapids had overflowed and was heading up the footpath to the Drop yesterday. Having the log ride down for 45 minutes didn't help either I suppose. -

2009.. My prediction for what's in stall..
Spotty replied to MickeyD's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It's hard to predict what will be next for Dreamworld, with having the new CEO and everything. There are no trends at the moment with his ideas so it could be a interesting few years for Dreamworld. I do know that there has been some painting going on latley. The wipeout got a FULL repaint this year, and 2 of the Kiddie Rides (Nick o Round and Swinger Zinger) Got complete re-themes late this year. I see Sea World and Wet n Wild having a quiet year next year, with possibly nothing added. We allready know what's next for WhiteWater World it's just a matter of when with that though. -
Not that we are aware of, Gazza was just being sarcastic and taking the mickey out of you basically.

Dreamworld to get virtual queuing in two weeks time
Spotty replied to glennborthwick's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'd been wondering what that fence and new gate was for the Claw and Wipeout. Now I know! I wonder if this means the Cyclone Queue might go back into the building like it used to! -

Being incorporated into the Tower of Terror would be easy. For the whole queue except the first flight of stairs in the skull there is a barrier that splits the path in half. 1 For Q4U and 1 for Normal Riders. Also the rides Included in the Q4U System are as follows as far as i'm aware.: Tower of Terror The Claw Wipeout Cyclone Mick Doohan's Motocoaster Rugrats Runaway Reptar Thunder River Rapids Rocky Hollow Log Ride -

The Claw had a Single Rider Line? I'll get a look around while I'm down there on monday and try and snap some pics. -
Dreamworld to get virtual queuing in two weeks time

Dreamworld also has a similar Wristband System and has for almost a year now I think. The System works at all outlets that has the Micros Register system as far as i'm aware. -
3 Hour waits? That does indeed sound rather exagerated. Considering the park is only open for 8 hours and you said you went on 3 rides with a 3 hour wait... that means you waited in total 9 hours? Doesn't seem right to me but anyway. Rides like the Claw and the Wipeout would only have 20 - 30 minute waits at the max because that is how much there queue lines can physically hold. I've NEVER seen the Giant Drop or the Tower of Terror with a line longer than 75 minutes even in peak season ever (With Attendance up around the 9,000 mark) The weather however could have played a minor part in the queues being so long because if it was raining the Tower wouldn't be running. But 3 hours does seem to be a bit of an exageration. Also Dreamworld would NEVER close down their park for a full day / week etc just for Schoolies as they would loose the local, interstate and international market for those few weeks. It would just be stupid if they closed the gates to anyone but schoolies people.

If you don't mind me asking, which page does it have the info about Dreamworld? I can't seem to find it on the Lo-Q Site. -
Considering what Gazza said about the Username being the person involved first and last names. It isn't Batman. Unless someone actually has the name Batman in real life, and if that was the case there must have been something very wrong with the parents choosing that name So it wasn't Doc Brown or Batman that were making the posts.

I got my year pass for Dreamworld for 99 dollars last year. Was a locals only offer.

Chrisdeaves, I know what you are saying about the situation. It's the same boat that Eureka is / was in. I was just making a little joke. And I wouldn't expect you guys to run a ride if it wasn't unsafe. That would be just stupid if you ask me. Please keep us updated on the situation though if your in the position to. Maybe we should start another thread to discuss this though.

I know exactly what is wrong with that Marvin Ride... ... It's a Zamperla
-

The Official Jet Rescue construction thread

Mmm... I'd love to see the indoor area themed like Bermuda Triangle. That flood scene just before going into the volcano is one of the best effects seen on any ride in Australia IMO. If the theming is anything on Par with Bermuda Triangle this will be a great ride. I also think having a pre-launch scene like Superman Escape could have worked really well with this ride. I am sure that WVTP won't dissapoint though. -
^ Uh... he is talking about the music inside SDSC. It was horrible on Wednesday night, and the maintenence lights were on for the final drop. I really do hope that WVTP don't let this ride go to the dumps. EDIT: Grr... Gazza JUST beat me to it
-
Well... this will be good for me then

I encountered the same issue last night. I just refreshed it and voila.
