  1. ??? And here I was, thinking they were growing it as part of the theming. Could have been "Jungle Jane's Revenge". But noooooo....... ?
  2. Hahaha. I think its hilarious how excited we are all getting over something like grass being mowed. I bet park management would be getting a real kick out of reading these posts right now ?
  3. I nearly posted the exact same thing! And no, as no doubt one of the alleged "keyboard warrior Dreamworld fanboys" being referring to since I was the first to respond, I did not take any offense to your post. I just couldn't make sense of your open comment about Dreamworld being considered a "form of punishment" to others, especially being posted on a theme park forum of all places. Joke or not, it probably would have just been a better idea to clarify that it was a personal opinion. Anyway, that's all I'm saying on the matter. I'd really rather continue talking about the grass activity at Movie World right now lol..... ?
  4. I don't have one? I appreciate each and every of them for their own reasons. Especially after living rurally for 10 years where there's no theme parks, and the Gold Coast ones are a 4 hour drive each way to get to. Personally I'm very thankful for very day I get to spend at each theme park, and heaven knows I have a lot of jealous friends over the fact I get to go so frequently. And yes, I suppose it would also be easy to take somewhere like Dreamworld for granted when you've obviously had the advantage of worldwide travel to visit other major parks. Not all of us can say the same, so we continue to appreciate our local ones. They have brought me a lot of personal happiness and inspiration over a long enough period of time for me to ever feel otherwise. If I didn't already have an unlimited membership for Dreamworld, I'd be more than happy to accept your punishment offer any day. I'm sure most of us can think of much worse ways to spend our time lol ?? PS. If you consider going to Dreamworld as "punishment", then have you ever considered... wait for it... maybe not going there?
  5. It can't be classified as both a water ride and a rollercoaster? It does feature elements of both. It's like a hybrid lol. Although I can see why it would be considered as mainly a 'water ride' , since that's what the bulk of it is, and more so that the brief coaster aspects.
  6. Of course it's a rollercoaster lol. It's just a different style of one (ie. reverse freefall). I'm surprised this is even being debated! It's widely addressed over the net and by most theme park related websites as a type of rollercoaster, including as the fourth fastest and tallest in the world etc. statistic wise ☺️? Eta: thanks @AlexB for bringing it to my attention that I misread the bump post lol, missed the part where it said it was about the 'Journey' coaster, not ToTII. On that note, I'm extremely sleep deprived and off to buy some caffeine ??
  7. Oh ok. I have friends that have done the Sunset tour on more than one occasion and they have said otherwise. Each to their own ?
  8. @Twilight Zone @Slick is correct. They have been using it for the Sunset tours for quite a while now. I'm one of a few who has kept an occasional eye on it whilst down that end of the park (my husband is a smoker, unfortunately!) and there's definitely nothing new happening with it of late. If anything they may even end up completely removing it with the upcoming refurbishment plans for the area.
  9. I don't think so. This Corroboree. expansion was planned before the incident late last year. It was mentioned as being their next park development in their annual financial report to 'drive international visitors', but not as a form of TRR damage control since it happened after this came out. So if anything they are just going ahead with their original plans.
  10. Either that, or its just the same educational presentation they put on for Sea World Resort guests in Dolphin Beach at 8.30am every morning. Membership holders were sent invites to attend it late last year on selected dates. Maybe they have now decided to make it a public and more frequent event, especially to help against the activist lashback?
  11. Either that or the reporter excitedly came across the Barbie Mattel coaster track post on here from the other night and didn't bother to read it through properly lol (wouldn't be the first for the media).....
  12. @Glubbo, @Themeparkfan is referring to the dramas last year that nearly saw the entire event called off. The 501st even publicly announced on their FB page that it was the "last ever" one due to new complications with Disney licensing. Obviously they managed to come to some kind of mutual agreement in the end to see the event continuing into the future. Which is good news ☺️?
  13. I'm sure a coaster of this colour would likely end up at a Mattel themed park somewhere than our Movie World ??
  14. *cough* Thanks @JaggedJanine ??? Lol. All good. We still like you. Blame the damn trolls with too much time on their hands ?
  15. Yeah, nah. I've also seen lots of convincingly photoshopped images over the years, including on here of alleged coaster tracks. Sorry, but I'm not sold on this one. Gonna have to see more proof, even if with my own eyes ? I'm very surprised some of you guys have taken the bait so quickly, especially from a brand new member ?
  16. Lol. Sorry but I'm gonna have to see more proof than that from a new member who has only made 1 post lol. We all know how the Dreamworld "rollercoaster" reveal topic from 5 years ago ended lol.
  17. Aww, but I like winking lol ? Oh ok, I thought this discussion was comparing specifically annual passes with Premier memberships, since the latter is the one which includes special event entries and thus up for scrutiny. But yeah, as far as I had been aware, the entry level memberships had been available for quite a while, since they had ads on TV warning of their imminent 'closure'. My understanding is that it's a control method to avoid overselling and subsequently potential overcrowding of the parks. They appear to cap every type of membership at a certain number, and naturally the entry level one ($10p/m) is the most popular, hence why they are currently not available. Once July-Sept this year rolls around, which is when the minimum 12 month contract period ends for the bulk of most new members (since this is when they usually have the window of opportunity open to sign up) they will have them on offer again, assuming there will be a certain percentage of them who will cancel once it's up - usually in a disgruntled fashion after they have realised that autorenewal has kicked in and they actually didn't read the T&C when they signed up lol. As for Carnivale, it seems they are planning to have it again at Sea World for at least next year, since as you've pointed out, it's a current inclusion of the Premier memberships being openly sold as we speak. Who knows what will happen after that, though. They might replace it, or they may even add an additional night event sometime in the near future? We shall just have to wait and see ?
  18. I don't think anything "happened" per say. My suspicion is that the Vintage Cars needed extra attention from the beginning when auditing was taking place, but delayed its extended closure in order to have the attraction temporarily reopen as an extra ride offering whilst all the rest were initially closed. This is how it appears to me, as it was closed again as soon as the bulk of its big brothers and sisters reopened. I can only assume that whatever attention it needed wasn't urgent or was going to put guests in any danger, hence why the decision was made to put it to good use in the meanwhile and help to draw guests back.
  19. Not quite. Memberships also cost more per year than your average VIP pass. 4 park 'Mega' Pass =$109.99 Premier Pass = $12 x 12 months = $144 So it's actually $34 extra per year, not $24, and that's also not counting the initial $10 fee charged when you first upgrade to a membership from a VIP pass ? That said, if that's the reward that VRTP are willing to provide people who commit to paying $12 every single month without fail, then so be it. And it obviously works for them, that's why they do it. For example, Premier membership holders having guaranteed entry into Carnivale every year, which as most are aware is the least popular fairing event right now, and by doing so it encourages those guests to automatically attend and become potential revenue spenders. Compare that to the average annual passholder or ticket buyer who isn't automatically committed to paying for event entry each year, and thus granting them flexibility on which events they choose to attend. They subsequently may decide to give Carnivale a miss this year instead... along with all that potential spending in park. So yes, why the Premier Passholder may be getting their ticket 'for free' in your eyes, they are also still giving VRTP a much higher guarantee that they will automatically attend every year at least once and buy dinner there, popcorn, a hat for the kids etc. That's a win for the park regardless of giving them discounted or 'free' entry. And believe me, being a membership holder doesn't come without its headaches. Just twice this year alone we've been initially denied entry into Movie World due to "expired" memberships (a repeating error on debitsuccess's end which has been haunting a few passholders of late) which we've had to call them on the spot to rectify ? And of course everyone knows the fun of being committed to direct debit transactions in general, ensuring you have enough funds transferred between accounts for the right day of the month etc. We also can't cancel without giving a minimum 30 days notice, which many have previously complained online to be an inconvenience. Yes, it's a bigger commitment than many think to hold a membership. Sometimes I think it would be easier to just go back to being an annual pass holder lol. Luckily VRTP make it up to us by providing us with decent benefits which make it worthwhile, given the number of hoops which have to be jumped through to get them....
  20. Definitely 'included' as opposed to 'free'. I think a lot of people forget that Premier members (speaking as one) actually pay extra per month on top of the normal pass cost in order to have these event tickets included each year. So we are still paying for them, just at a discounted, upfront cost than buying during the actual event seasons.
  21. Aww. So glad I got one last photo of it at Carnivale a couple of weeks ago....
  22. @joel Wtf. Given this topic was started 5 years ago, I'm fairly sure that everyone would have worked out by now that the photos were fake lol.
