  1. This one is from 22 July. None of the new construction at the bottom of Rocky Hollow has occurred yet, nor has any of the taipan pathways at the bottom of the wall. There's a drop gondola, and a section of railway track in the maintenance area The hotdog is in storage We do however have movement on the train - the edge of the taipan site has been cleaned up and the train has moved a few times in recent months: Here you can see the carriages on their own (far left) - the loco is elsewhere (i know, right? it's bright red and hard to miss, but it just isn't there) Now you see it... now you don't! Also - the ToT skull was in position on 28 May and gone by 10 July. I've checked and can't see it sitting around anywhere - anyone see where it went? Here's a quick overview on Jamberoo Lots of pieces on site to the left, and they've made pathways to the site from left and right sides of the park boundary - but there doesn't even appear to be footings at all, and still looks like they're shaping the site \ site prep. Aussie World looks to be expanding their carpark to the north along Frizzo Rd (and judging by how full it is on this wintery July day - that's probably necessary! And finally - just in case you haven't gotten around to it yet -
  2. From 5th June to 4th August The only major change i've been able to find is that there appears to be a stack of reo (rebar \ reinforcing steel sheets) stacked on the approximate site of Trident. WnW is currently resurfacing their wavepool The new slide complex (yeah, I don't remember what they're calling it either...) And for those desperate to know.... nothing has happened with the roundabout... MW. Move along... nothing to see here... Except the pounce n bounce rotting away backstage
  3. Judging by the before and after, i'd say this one is the winner It doesn't look any different in the aerial shot on the previous page which is post-work, so i'd say it was a resurfacing of sorts.
  4. Golden Years on the other hand posted about the announcement, and even received an invitation to attend the event. I think Dreamworld may be sending a message. insert joke about petting zoo.
  5. Wavepool was still empty on 22 July - so the image is no more than a month old. Side note - wavepool had some work being done in July - anyone know what this is?
  6. How in the hell has this been up for 11 hours without a single reaction? It's relevant, it's on brand, it's not about covid rule breaking... POST OF THE FUCKING WEEK! *Sad Realisation - PASS closed in 2008, so the answer to my first question is probably that most kids these days don't even know the joke.
  7. Because, that's entirely the only conclusion we can come to. We've got marketing teams on the gold coast that schedule engagement posts for attractions that aren't even open at the time they're posted due to maintenance - and you think they're capable of collating a mailing list from multiple membership, subscriber and annual pass systems? I would not be surprised in the slightest if they maintained their master list in Excel, and relied on manually updating it either. For the record, my whole family has had Dreamworld passes, and I never, ever, received any of their special offers or passholder emails. I didn't bother to follow it up with them because Parkz. But I shouldn't have to - they capture that info at time of signup - it shouldn't need to be. TL:DR - it's not always the recipients' fault. Thankyou for calling DaptoTechSupport.
  8. Looks like they've removed a lot of slats...
  9. Appreciate the update. Nice iphone though - does it come with a crop function? You might have just doxxed yourself with your profile picture visible is all...
  10. And putting the paid element aside, its been a long time coming - there are other (non disney) services out there that people have used in the past to monitor wait times, and plan out their vacation itinerary \ act as a travel guide, etc. Honestly i'm surprised it has taken Disney THIS long to actually produce something in house to put all the others cashing in on that void out of business.
  11. is that before, or after they put the umbrella on top?
  12. Just remove every other slatfoundation to reduce weight?
  13. Yes, and they're saying that it will constantly update throughout the day, but that's going to be annoying too. 9am: Genie to 10,000 people: Flight of Passage is quiet at 2pm, you should go then! 10,000 People: OK! 10am: Genie to 10,000 people: Looks like 10,000 people plan to ride flight of passage at 2pm. you should go now to avoid the rush! 10,000 People: But... we're on the other side of the park!? Genie: I said NOW dammit! Have your best Disney day by constantly readjusting your plans throughout the day so you need to live on your device instead of in the moment in order to make sure you're constantly following Avatar: Robin Williams edition to the letter.
  14. Personally, with restrictions relaxing and people allowed to move about more, I think they'd be better off opening for the later half of the day. Instead of 9:30-3:30, open 11:30-5:30 on weekdays. More people are likely to visit in the afternoon and if you're open the later shift you potentially capture people for lunch AND dinner, providing more opportunity to increase your F&B spend.
  15. I hope there is an alternate pathway - that is going to be a massive bottleneck. Spaghetti Junction: Ground Level edition!
  16. Yeah I came to a similar conclusion myself - the rest of the app looks good - but if they're showing everyone in the park that the quietest time to ride X attraction is 2pm - that is suddenly not going to be the quietest time to ride... amirite? Did you see the launch of Avengers Campus? They don't care. This sums up Chapek's time at the head of the company - it's like Ian was speaking directly to him...
  17. What's the bet that the lightning lane passes aren't unlimited, and they cap it based on attendance, a bit like village's capped system? ^
  18. Hard to tell on Jet Rescue because of the launch SFX but it's always seemed fairly quiet to me...
  19. The brand is too successful, and addictive - they've got locals that have grown up having a pass virtually since they were born, who visit every day just because. They've got passholders whose entire income is generated from being a personal shopper for exclusive merchandise. Disney broke the labour strike. they charge THOUSANDS for full-service annual passes. Their basic hotels are an OBSCENE price simply because of proximity - missing key features once considered standard - they've pared back every flourish and ribbon - and yet people still come. people still pay. So long as they keep doing that (and this is much the same explanation for many of our local park lamentations also), they'll continue to cut and slash and burn and toss 'the show' in favour of 'the buck' because shareholders only care about how big their dividend is. Guest happiness only matters if Shareholder Happiness is low.
  20. It always blows my mind, having grown up in Sydney, with direct access to Taronga Zoo, and a short drive out to Western Plains Zoo, and visiting family in Canberra and going to the Canberra Zoo, just how lacking we are in SEQ. Alma Park zoo closed. Lone Pine - whilst it does have a number of exhibits considers itself a koala sanctuary first and foremost, Australia Zoo is... unique. I mean heck - 2 years ago Sydney opened a THIRD zoo in Western Sydney - about the same size as Alma Park zoo and we can't even find 40 acres for Alma Park Zoo to rebuild!
  21. err... When did that happen? I'd love to know your source...
  22. They are! Appearing daily during the Christmas School Holidays, Movie World will feature not one, but TWO trains on Superman, DC Rivals and Green Lantern!
  23. Mate, they needed a loan from the government to build their new rollercoaster. They specifically purchased a brand new diesel powered "lookalike" - a capital expenditure that would have had a significant cost associated with it - just so that they could stop operating the steam train. They might have had enough money to run it, but clearly it was a cost they wished to reduce.
  24. I don't think they have two. The website image I posted above stated the train was closed for maintenance currently and detailed how they offered tours and such without the train - so there's no relief loco and Moreton is it, I believe. Looking at pictures now, I think the loco is just a shell for show, and the drive comes from the tender behind it.
