  1. Dude... please learn the location of a full-stop... and use it at least occasionally.
  2. Oh, don't be so hard on yourself. It's not just because of that!
  3. Wait - so you think TFH panels, in concrete bases, buckled together, and covered in a vinyl print of the most boring thing imaginable is better than a simple little aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive pool fence? The pool fences are aluminium, lightweight, easily moved. They're the modern day equivalent of the 'rope' used to close an area. They allow guests to see into the area, and blend into the surrounds. Clearly Vortex is close, and they don't want big heavy ugly barriers to try and move during the operating day when they're ready to let people in.
  4. Helps them justify the theme to have fire twirlers and other more culturally african performers.
  5. 'very very soon' is the new 'in the coming weeks'
  6. For something called 'gold coaster' there is a distinct lack of gold.
  7. In the initial announcement at the top of this thread, it did mention 'bookings' as part of it. As I understand it, they also have a bluey show, similar to the paw patrol or westfield stage offerings. While those types of things previously had a meet and greet after, we're in a new, covid world. (Plus i've seen the crowds Dreamworld gets for The Wiggles). $20 isn't a super unreasonable cost to place a limitation on the number of people who book to maintain distancing and limit demand. Its the same reason why Rivals backwards costs $15. Sure, they're probably gonna upset some folk, but they're also going to make some folks happy that they aren't queueing in a major crush of parents and crotch goblins in the heat waiting their turn in a line 3 hours long. I remember trying to do character photos of Shrek when he first appeared at Wonderland. The licencing arrangements (or the greedy retail managers, not sure which) stated only park photographers photos were permitted. Parents were not permitted to take their own photos. This increased the sales of the park-produced character photos, which I understand covered the licence fees costumes and set constructions. This pissed a lot of parents off, especially after waiting in the queue for as long as some of them did. This is (IMO) a better way for them to handle that expense and demand.
  8. Yeah Gazza is pretty much on the money. I guess, if they had been running it properly, the bigger guys probably would have courted more investment in the large manufacturers the same as the GC parks do - Intamin, Vekoma, Mack, et al, all would have been vying for the next opportunity. Sunway bought the park in the 90s. Theoretically, Beast would have been maintained better, and a potential hybridisation by RMC or similar may have occurred if the structure survived long enough to get to that point. But this is a lot of ids, and at the end of the day - anything was possible really... there's just one glaring oversight... The fact that Sunway continues to operate parks in malaysia does not mean they knew how to run a park. Remember Sunway is owned by the Malaysian royal family. Its essentially failure proof.
  9. Nightly is a special breed. Unfortunately, its my only option.
  10. So they're finally fixing the maze of paths around giant drop, by... adding another new path?
  11. Yes, great job Dreamworld! Here's how it looks this morning -
  12. Why did this thread come up in my unreads this morning? did i not read my own post? @Richard is this a site glitch or am I missing something?
  13. Yeah - if its your only day off, and you really want to go, then go. Buy the fast track online in advance to avoid having them sell out. As mentioned you won't have anywhere to put your stuff at that point, so go in, shove it all in a locker, activate your fast track, and go for it. It's going to be insanely busy, but your fast track should help you make the most of it.
  14. It's been removed to make way for an exciting new attraction!
  15. Sort of - now instead of spinning constantly for 30 minutes without displaying the map, now it says: Great job Dreamworld!
  16. i actually hadn't tried to open this earlier, and just saw screenshots from others who were commenting on it, but when @DJKostya mentioned it wouldn't open on Desktop, I tried to open on Firefox Nightly 72.0.3, and while the site header loads, the content area just has a load spinner. I let it load and went to do other things and it was still spinning half an hour later. I mean - Sure, mobile audiences are your primary focus in today's world - but i remember ( @Slick remembers) a time when both park groups had decent (semi-decent?) PC viewable \ usable sites, and they had absolute hot garbage when viewing on mobile. Now they've made everything so mobile friendly they've broken the PC view? how in the hell anyone thought this was a good idea is beyond me.
  17. Personally, I think the full experience should be offered on any day they charge full price for admission, but they don't, so if they don't feel like having everything open during school holidays that's their business decision, and after all, why would you throw money away if you don't have to? If its quiet, why would you spend the money to have things open earlier?
  18. Holidays have started, but haven't we spoken ad nauseum about how the weeks before christmas are pretty quiet, and everything kicks off boxing day? Isn't that why so many new rides are 'opening boxing day' and so on?
  19. So very glad you aren't. You're comparing maintenance issues on a mechanical ride attraction with a litany of issues, and drawing comparisons to a fibreglass tube without the same history? Had my car up on blocks for weeks trying to fix it but she's cactus. Next week I saw a cow standing on a square shaped rock so I shot it in the head because it was surely going to be the exact same problem my car had!
  20. ...you said 'even after the pandemic!' and the way you wrote it was as though you'd made the choice, not that you weren't allowed to. News Update - you're about... what... 14? so in four years, you'll be 18. And all things going to plan, President Harris will have vaccinated everyone by then and the pandemic will be over and you'll be able to go then.
  21. Thanks for chiming in Spotty. You are right. I knew one row was better than the other, but my most recent ride on Scoob was in the front, and my mind naturally went to 'that one must be the bigger space'.
  22. Doesn't WnW have a little creek running through the middle of it that floods whenever it farts rain? WWW doesn't have that does it? Could that be the reason perhaps?
  23. I feel like Wipeout still exists there too. It's like they commissioned this 6 years ago, felt it was hot garbage and tossed it in the bin, and then Gary Weiss has come along and said 'if we don't use it, we can't claim it as park improvement expenditure!' so they've pulled it out, flattened it out between a couple textbooks and rubbed most of the dog shit off it and then uploaded it to say 'look, we made a thing!' that's what sh.. Nevermind.
