  1. In Australia, with our insane loose item policies? not a chance. Let's face it - MW would be fucked if they got an RMC. Maintenance alone would kill them.
  2. I meant MDMC doesn't count... BECAUSE it's MDMC. Madagascar is a kiddie coaster, and should never be part of a park's 'bragging rights' in terms of flagship attractions - no matter how good it may be for families. And if the shutdown causes them to lose so much money they never build it? it's happened before... if you're going to be strategic, you should be allowing for plausible possibilities...
  3. but the price only goes up if they were clones. were they clones?
  4. Yeah, given the question was 'what is the size of the park area' i tried to stick to park boundary. While it's all village (leased) property, you need to draw a line between what is and isn't part of each gate \ attraction. I included parts of the BOH area behind WWF\Showcase mainly because it does get included in the footprint for fright nights, but for most everything else i've stuck with the fenceline. If I have time i'll do another that excludes BOH and just includes guest accessible areas (and ride envelopes), but since half of showstage is blocked to guests and technically back of house..... and half of the superman showbuilding is back of house... and the arkham \ lethal cinema and shop... and the gremlins theatres... and stars cafe.... and LTRR warehouse.... and the thatched shack in WB Kids.... and Intencity... geez.... there's a lot of derelict areas within the park isn't there!!!???
  5. MDMC - Should never be included in any count for any reason (and yes, it should NOT be a credit...) Madagascar is a junior coaster, and while cool, again, shouldn't count for 'full circuit'. Cyclone does count, but mainly it counts its days remaining after 4 themes and two locations, the old girl is getting on in years. Nobody counts Buzzsaw. It has to be open to count... And a coaster under construction will count - but a coaster in pieces not being constructed wouldn't... so for now.... ?
  6. Nagashima? it's on my list for when i'm on mobile. Unfortunately a lot of media doesn't load for me - I opened it, but its on my list to get back to when I have more time to read, and view images.
  7. I thought you were going to stop now? Jesus christ. And they let you out in public? I'll even save you the effort of going to google... https://www.macworld.com/article/3429201/how-to-take-and-edit-a-screenshot-on-any-iphone.html
  8. Oh for sure - I promise to get on topic as soon as someone else posts something on-topic. In the meantime, invest in learning how to crop your screenshots (or at least how to save an image from a google image search)... us old fogies can do it on these new fandangled devices... (Oh also, Welcome to Parkz. The first rule of Parkz club - nothing stays on topic for too long. Enjoy your stay!)
  9. You should really charge your phone.
  10. Absolutely it is mate. I didn't say it wasn't - i was just setting your expectations. There's lots of theme park and related games out there, and historically that's what the gaming area of the forum has been (mainly) about. Given you posted on Saturday afternoon and you've had no replies come monday - maybe read the room. No doubt in any large group of diverse people who have gathered because of a shared interest, you'll find a few who share other interests with you too, but for 99% of the people here, you 'started' by betting we all know 'the scene' and I bet you that we don't all know what the hell you're talking about (but i'll bet some do!) If (non theme park, disney, rollercoaster sim, etc) games are what you 'stan' - i'm sure there are other forums out there that would get you a load of responses. If you want to talk about the latest DLC in PlanCo (for example), you're gonna find interest here. And for the old timers (those are the ones who grew up with the first gen gameboy similar to what you have in your avatar) - try not to use abbreviations. At least not the first time, unless they're common... all this FF7 and FNAF stuff you consider to be 'the norm' just isn't for the demographic you're dealing with here. Speak plainly. It'll help. ...and there's no need to get your knickers in a twist - i'm just trying to help. In any event, it seems as though this topic is destined to die quietly, and I for one am going to let it rest in peace.
  11. I've got an answer to your question. But the forum rules prohibit me from divulging it. I know you've been here since 2009. I can see you've contributed over that time also. (And if you check your profile visitors list you'll see i checked it before i posted my last reply). I figured since you've been here that long that you'd understand that sometimes, things aren't able to be divulged. there's several possible reasons but the main one is usually the right answer. If you can't figure that out after a decade of being here, you're denser that I gave you credit for.
  12. Ok. Let me spell it out for ya. You've got a rep count of 48, and have 206 posts. Slick has a rep count of 2199 and 2881 posts. Slick is also a community leader here on the forums. It's kinda his job here to ensure a certain... standard. *Ahem* While i'm not suggesting you take everything a community leader says as gospel (they're not always right, and they aren't infallible), they usually make their best efforts to not spout unfounded rumor without having seen some sort of evidence of it (and each active community leader has their own background or expertise related to the industry in some way - (want to know? ask them privately and see if they answer). There are just some things you gotta take on faith. And that's where rep and post count comes in. Now i'm not suggesting for a moment that a high rep or post count means they're an expert, or always right (it can just mean they talk alot, which is why I'm at the top of both counts here on Parkz - toot!), but for someone to have amassed a 4 digit positive rep count, and a 4 digit post count (sorry Jdude!) generally suggests they've survived long enough on these boards to have the basics right. Seriously - if someone comes on spouting bullshit, they generally don't survive long. But sometimes, those who know, can't say, and those who can say, don't know. So many times when information sources can't be revealed for one reason or another, sometimes its hinted at, or suggested, and sometimes you just have to pay attention to what gets said - a couple throwaway lines here and there can add up to a fact you can bank on, without ever having had to say it out loud. TL:DR - if none of the longer term or experienced members of the forum are questioning something.... you just gotta ask yourself why that might be... and sometimes you just gotta trust it.
  13. That's true, but we're talking about actual rollercoasters here...
  14. Clones should and generally are cheaper if built like-for-like. Modifications or extras obviously increase it, but a manufacturer should be able to build a clone on a greenfields site cheaper than the original because they've learned their mistakes from the past. There is no reason to charge more for something simply because you've made one before. Sure, it proves it is successful, but as a buyer, i'm not going to agree to pay more because someone else already has one... first of all - why would I want what the other guy already has, unless it's cheap? And second of all, why are you charging me more than the other guy paid? If its a prototype, its different. Prototypes are experimental, require tweaking and modifications and may not work properly. The park gets a discount because there is a risk to both the manufacturer and the park if it doesn't work. Simply because something has been cloned, it doesn't mean the original was experimental - if it uses the same track designs and trains and launch or lift systems, or a combination of previously tried and tested technology, and this is just the right combination of lift\launch, track type, elements and trains. If a clone cost more, it's probably because - the site required extra work - say a sloping site where longer \ more support columns were needed, or the buyer asked for modifications - such as backwards facing seats, or spinning cars, or reverse spike triple launch...
  15. How can you be so sure of that? I'm sure that, prior to TRRR, all of us would have categorically stated that TRRR had a full power disconnect e-stop, and some people would have even claimed to have seen it... So to state 'definitely' is pretty ballsy, after all we've learned of 'behind-the-scenes' theme park maintenance...
  16. That's very presumptuous of you... When the money stops rolling in, you'd be surprised at what things can be cancelled even if they're already been budgeted for... Especially if the forward projections anticipated a certain amount of revenue to be received to fund those projects, that is now... not coming in. I would suggest you are the one who is most likely incorrect... consider this: I promised you a car. I showed you a McLaren F1, in an artists rendering. Then I showed you a Lambhorghini Murcielago in a physical 3D model. Then I changed the colour a couple of times and threw in a Ferrari F40 in some promotional imagery. Then, I delivered you a 1987 Toyota Camry, in three different colours because the doors were replaced with spare parts from the wreckers. Now - did I deliver a car? Yes. So technically, you can't complain, because I delivered a car. My promo material, concept art and such was always subject to change. And the lesson - the Toyota Camry is still world class... for 1987...
  17. I think they have built one recently (like last 7 years) but not sure if that was a relocation. They'd still have the designs - if someone wanted to order one i'm sure they could do it.
  18. Whoa whoa - everyone slow down I can't keep up! Dude, this is a park forum. I assume you're talking about a game of some sort... and you're probably going to get only mixed reactions from a few...
  19. I had a few moments spare, so I drew it up. The back end of WWF and Arkham is a bit of a mess as some studio buildings and park buildings are mixed in, but this is pretty much the park perimeter including all BOH areas. And for those who don't speak in Hectares...
  20. Honestly though any hysteria about a new Rapids attraction (when, and if) is easily dispelled. Modern technology means rapids rides don't need to load boats in the trough - all guest loading and unloading can be done on a solid, flat surface out of the water... Obviously the transitions on and off the conveyor are still risk points, but the continuous movement of the conveyor means there is unlikely to ever be a collision. Oh... and they'll probably have an e-stop.
  21. the running wheels are going to wreak havoc on timber rails.... they'll be replacing them every six weeks in areas with high forces.... maybe they should put metal on top of the wooden rails to reduce the wear...
