  1. Resounding message From park management: “as such risks and hazards had not been identified, they were unaware and unable to take action”
  2. “While there is always an inherent risk of safety, it is expected that all action will be taken by the owner” ”dreamworld never co ducted a risk assessment for TRRR In it’s 30 years of operation” ”dreamworld places much reliance on Bob Tan’s expertise” ”Bob was not a qualified engineer, which should have been known by the park.” “his involvement with many projects at Dreamworld was dangerous.“ There can be no suggestion the ride operators did not conduct themselves in accordance with their training Staff cannot be the sole means of identifying risks. dreamworlds safety department was not set up effectively. risk management at the park was “immature”
  3. “Primary safety controls were administrative controls reliant on ride operators to maintain safe spacing” “Dreamworld never engaged a person capable of mitigating these risks”
  4. “It is evident that TRRR was apparently modified ...without a designer” “It appears the modifications were somewhat random and in response to acute issues without consideration of the other issues and hazards that resulted...” “There were a number of missed opportunities where dreamworld could and should have addressed issues with the ride...” ”inspections were not based on Australian Standards...” ”dreamworld knew of this significant limitation in its safety audits but failed to take steps to address this...”
  5. The coroner is now outlining the issues he considered during the inquiry including construction, maintenance, staffing and training. Slats, underwater rails, pump failure and e-stop issues all cited as key issues. coroner states these hazards would “all have been evident to a competent person, had one inspected the ride” #oof
  6. The coroner is now outlining the police investigation and steps taken by investigators
  7. The coroner is now reading the series of events that lead to the accident.
  8. Family has concluded their statements. Coroner has advised his findings are some 300 pages, and so will be making a summary only.
  9. Court has convened. @Jdude95 and I will be covering updates. All counsel have made their appearances and the court has invited the family members to make a statement.
  10. Hong Kong follows the same 'roughly' two months in advance as California, although current info is unavailable as the park is closed due to the Covid-19 situation. Shanghai's website design, and 'two month in advance' layout (the same style as california AND hong kong) suggest they probably do the same, but cannot confirm due to covid-19.) Tokyo publishes about six monthly, with the July-December period due to be published in May Paris has currently published until June, with no other information on when further months will be posted. Florida has a similar system to California, but their closures are displayed up until August, which is 6 months. My original statement - that Disney doesn't publish their annual calendar a year in advance stands.
  11. Ok @TheChad it's time to come down from that horse... it seems a little too high for you. You're a little new here, and even if you've been lurking a while, you should try to bear in mind that this site has existed in one shape or another for 16 years, and many of the folks around here have been here that long, or almost that long. So before you start shooting your mouth - its fine to have an opinion, but do consider the responses you're getting to that opinion, and who its coming from. This site has members who are FAR. MORE. INTIMATELY. INVOLVED. IN. PARK. MAINTENANCE. than you. Seasonal parks can get loads of maintenance done in their off season Seasonal parks in Australia also do, but still have downtime during their operating season when something unforeseen occurs Comparing a little park like Movie World with Disney is like comparing a Datsun 120Y with a Ferrari. One costs a lot more and is worth a lot more Disney can employ many more people to get jobs done quicker, and do more regular maintenance overnight. Park attendances aren't even in the same league. While you're holding Disney up as the pinnacle of speedy maintenance, bear in mind their current schedule has Snow White, Haunted Mansion and King Arthur's Carousel closed with no firm opening date, with Snow White down since January 7th (43 days ago) and the other two since January 21 (29 days ago). Disney doesn't publish their entire annual calendar a year in advance like Movie World does either, with their current maintenance schedule only visible on a day-by-day basis up until April 2nd... and guess what? those three rides are still showing as down for maintenance (which for Snow White, will be 86 days downtime). For those following along at home - Disney aren't doing it well if their ride needs THREE months of maintenance! https://www.disneytouristblog.com/disneyland-refurbishment-calendar/
  12. Welcome to Parkz, and thanks for sharing that totally-not-clickbait video from a channel that has the EXACT same name as your Parkz Username! Just in case you missed it - in the Community Guidelines: Oh, and also in the site 'Registration Terms and Conditions': Its a nice clickbait hook description to go along with the video instead of the usual - but in this case, I can't give you any more clicks since you apparently can't read. <thread reported to admin>
  13. There are things that pay respects \ tribute to former attractions. Incorporating some theming or signage or similar into the new attraction that works with the concept is one. Having a twist on the name - like beast \ son of beast, or colossus \ twisted colossus as examples - but these are similar attractions. renaming an old ride the same as another, older and entirely different ride is akin to re-naming your 6 year old child the same name as your now-dead 8 year old child because you liked the 8 year-old's name better. Its not paying respects. its just fucking weird.
  14. Ok, hope that got a few laughs at least... In all seriousness though, Thanks Gazza for curating this extensive collection.
  15. i'm not - for the reasons already mentioned. it's been done. its the same argument I have for why they shouldn't build a 'new goldrush'.
  16. The station building still forms part of the facade for Dreamworks, so they can't really delete that - it is a structure in the park that people will see, and need to reference to orient themselves. but the number 3 map point is definitely an oversight. Perhaps renumber Sky Voyager as '3' instead of '66' and then it won't look odd. How ridiculous that Main Street is numbered 1, 2, 66 (and also, that Tower of Terror was somehow a 'Main Street' attraction?). Note the now orphaned '3' in the top right of the picture:
  17. Dammit Gazza - now you've got the admin view public, we all wanna hear about coasterdudes vlog! Did you know he had a vlog? HE. HAS. A. VLOG!
