Movie World - The Next Few Years
This is actually a really good suggestion. Main street would look great with a set of tracks running down, similar to Main St USA. Easy turning circles around the fountain, and at the top, either a circle around the 'green', or otherwise take it all the way up to intencity and circle the game outlet up there. Great kinetic energy for the park, a different way for people to get from one end to the other... Of course, in our modern safety conscious society, they'd probably need a person to walk in front of it to clear people out of the way, and we'd no doubt get idiots tripping on the tracks and trying to sue...

Jersey Shore Big Day Pt 2: Morey's Piers
Thanks for the nice TR Gazza! I'd love to see that 'interconnecting slides' thing done here on the coast. Sure, not groundbreaking technology stuff, but it looks really interesting - almost like a choose your own adventure slide!

Fully6 - WhiteWater World's new slide tower
In today's world, I imagine a gate is probably going to be mandatory, but honestly - i've been to tourist parks with multiple enclosed waterslides that was just manned by one op at the bottom, one at the top, and the ops just 'thumbsed up' each other when the next rider was cleared to go. Theoretically, provided they all have a similar ride time, one operator could be at the top controlling gates \ green lights for all slides, and riders could just self-manage.

Fully6 - WhiteWater World's new slide tower
Yeah, I wasn't suggesting a switchback setup like whitewater mountain, I realise there isn't enough space for that - but the throughput of this, and the fact that they're all "body slides" should mean if one "queue" is longer, people will naturally gravitate towards the shorter queues (except maybe the 'speed' slides which are a bit daunting for some) - so even just a short rail - 1-2 metres, just to provide delineation between each slide, there should be enough space for that - the platform appears to be about 5 metres long (front to back) and about 12 metres wide... Even a painted line on the floor could work...

On the contrary - i'm more favourable to VRTP over DW, but I think DW's operations are far more efficient than VRTP, in general.

Fully6 - WhiteWater World's new slide tower
Hopefully it'll just be like whitewater mountain - get to the top and then split off to the one you want to ride - it's not like Green Room and Wedgie where very different groups are the target - they're all fairly similar, and most people are going to want to ride each one so it should even things out - people will just line up behind whichever queue is the shortest.

They probably shouldn't pour the footing like that - the reo is bent.

WVTP prices going up
I think this is just the typical 'buy now' push we always see them do coming up to various seasons \ periods to try and encourage advance purchases. We'll see it go up, and then post christmas, it'll drop as a 'special' back down to the currently advertised price...

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
Well based on Joz's share market update, January at best, and march at worst... but since they've gone from 'december' to 'summer' to 'Q1 2020'... so they can always move the goalposts...

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
That looks like a pile unit. It'll be the only thing erecting for a while. When this machine leaves we should start to see some vertical construction... although given the timeline, maybe it stays on site and starts work for the rest of atlantis...? September nearmap doesn't show any survey marks for Leviathan yet... but who knows how they're proceeding with this 'precinct' (i hate that word. can we just call it a land? yes? great). Land.

Really? load stations have to be completely empty of the previous riders before new ones are permitted in, and in some cases, riders aren't even grouped until after the load station is empty. VRTP has long been criticised of their long cycle times, so I don't think we can agree on them having 'great operations'. And that isn't just a local perception. Here's a foreign guest's take on Movie World: ... I'll stop there.

Would it be worth replacing the Tower of Terror 2?
It does help to pay attention to what you're quoting - i didn't know either, but took the lead from MickeyD's post: Cars is plural, but also - why would you have a switch track if there was only one car? Logic always wins.
-
Movie World - The Next Few Years
It did. Blazing saddles was tired AF, and the park - in addition to needing to upgrade the kids area - also needed a flat ride to pad the park out.

Turbo track has two cars - 2 x 12 = 24. Plus you can be loading one car while the other is cycling.

Movie World - The Next Few Years
Read the whole post mate. So my expression about Arkham being replaced with a batman related attraction was after i'd had no original suggestions, and resigned myself to the fact that the park would probably just insert another DC character - i then continued that thought by saying - if they were to - that i'd love to see them bring Batman back to the forefront. ETA: they could in theory also keep the queueline and stationhouse mostly intact - and re-use the batman-atop-the-tower theming already there.
-
Movie World - The Next Few Years
I don't think it's a case of "we want DC" - i think its more a case that the park has shown a certain 'unoriginality' in theming practically every new attraction to a DC universe related theme. When was the last 'non-DC' attraction added to Movie World? (Updates to Roxy, and refurbs of existing attractions don't count) I'd be quite happy with a new, movie-related IP, or similarly engaging non-IP but still movie related tie-in provided it is well done, but I think the fact is, we'd be more likely to get a hero coaster themed to a DC hero, because that's what history has shown us.

Movie World - The Next Few Years
But a very different world in which we live today. They just dropped $30+M on DCR. You can't expect that to be dropped on every attraction. I'd be happy with half that.

WB Studio Showcase - 2019/20 Edition
Maybe not. They ditched their pay by the month option when they stopped offering memberships, and now offer Afterpay instead - which, while still breaking the cost up into smaller payments, isn't recurring, is paid off over a shorter time period, and, I assume since every retailer and his dog uses Afterpay or Zip or similar, that they probably don't suffer from the same reliability issues that membership direct debits once did. I presume the only reason they continue to utilise the old direct debit provider for memberships is because its already set that way. If they had decided to change anything, it'd probably be easier to throw a discounted one pass offer at the membership and 'take it or leave it'

Tower of Terror 2 closing
Photo store team members are able to manually move the picture inside the overlay to align it. You can also request the photo without the overlay. You're paying for (or have a photo pass you've paid for) a photo of you on a ride - they will happily supply you with one. I proposed to my wife on the (then) Cyclone, and the team member at the photo booth was happy to provide copies both with and without the overlay on the photo. As for TOT, here is an example, this was from another ride, taken only yesterday (courtesy of \ stolen from @Jdude95😞

Movie World - The Next Few Years
I agree MW needs a focus on high capacity family rides and shows, but at the same time, they can't let Arkham retire without a suitable replacement. (And suitable, in context, means another coaster.)

WNW - GC upgrade ideas
Well... that resolves the projector issues - i just hope they keep the screen in top condition - dead cells are painful, but I assume as was mentioned earlier they'll probably be able to offset the cost by using it to sell advertising space...

WB Studio Showcase - 2019/20 Edition
Many of the "exclusive to one pass holders" emails also come to me, as a membership holder. I think it would be a bit rough for Village to phase it out entirely - its a very big slap in the face to those who have shown the loyalty of sticking with it this whole time, in addition to purchasing what was, at the time, their most premium tiered product. I'd be quite ok for them to put the price up if they felt it needed - and offer it only to those on existing memberships...

Movie World - The Next Few Years
I thought the same, but I think that's why he said: I think Mad Max got bandied around as a theme suggestion when DCR was coming, but I feel like it's too niche. Fury road came out in 2015 - so by 2022, that's 7 years old, with the originals in 1979, 1981 and 1985. The irony that an originally 'mel gibson film' themed coaster would be replaced by an originally mel gibson starred film franchise is kinda amusing - but as a theme, i just don't think it fits. I have no other suggestions. And VRTP would probably just slap another DC character on it - but lets face it - one of the parks biggest characters no longer has a home to call his own - Batman has the whole Gotham area next to scooby, and yet Green Lantern scores a flag carrying attraction, and he backseats into both Arkham and Justice League. I'd love to see Arkham replaced with a batman hero attraction - which would then be easily themed from the Gotham cafe area, through the old chinatown alley, and still sit within the DC "precinct".
