  1. Random thought - it's long been rumored the park deliberately ran ToT at lower power\speed to save money and wear and tear. Since this is the last hurrah - anyone thinking we might see the ride ramped up and really plowed into the ground?
  2. Crawler cranes, between the main mast and luffing jib can get that high. I don't see them bringing a tower crane in for what wouldn't be a long term job.
  3. Nice as this sounds, I don't think the tower itself has much life left in it to bother with spending a crapshack on a conversion.
  4. Why? Is there a wipeout plaque? Stingray? Cinema? Thunder River? Thunderbolt?
  5. Yes, it was early. In comparison to Wipeout, which was announced after it had run its final cycle. This gives people a chance to actually ride it. So, GD remains, and the TOT track will be removed "in the coming months". They have no plans for the space at present, as noted by the DW faqs stipulating that Fully Six, and the TRRR site coaster are 'the replacements' so to speak, as well as leveraging off Sky Voyager - a ride that is now more than a year old... definitely getting mileage off that one. While some purists may seek to return the vintage cars to their old location, and consolidate the park - I feel that the TOT space is ripe for their next planned expansion - which, i'll admit, won't be on the radar yet, but it will be the next expansion pad. My ideal, is this: Currently, the public views DW's as yet unnamed and unthemed coaster as being better than SW's Leviathan. From an enthusiast standpoint, a launched mack probably does beat out gravity group, but from the general public perception, i feel its more a case of 'steel: good, wood: old'. However, SW is going to have something unique - one of the only woodies in Australia - and if the ride succeeds - DW may seek to steal some of that by building their own woody. The Tower launch envelope, the dead area near rocky hollow and the murrissippi may lend itself to a great meandering layout, finally utilising the river and the island as well as the possibility of impacting the DW skyline positively, so that their graphic designers don't need to add superman escape to the silhouette to make it look good... It's probably a ways off, but the narrow launch track footprint would look great with a tall wooden lift hill, before a huge first drop leaning into a sweeping bend to swoop back up over the river. For anyone keeping score: Cinema, Wipeout, Thunder River, Tower of Terror Sky Voyager, Unnamed launch coaster. Taking things out, and not putting things in used to be a sea world thing.
  6. ^yeah. Like you wouldn’t want to design your control board in house, and then modify it, and modify it, and modify it, and then not build in a proper power disconnect or something...
  7. Or, given the revelations, you could unhide/reinstate what was removed, as it demonstrates rumour reliability (unfountainness, if you will)...
  8. Agree. the replies left things unsaid which were implied. given some members here know things, but can't disclose, but give plenty of hints along the way, i thought it was quite relevant 'content'
  9. this thread probably is. I'm fairly certain @Richard once mentioned that where posts are removed or otherwise moderated, the moderation team would reach out to the member in PM to explain why. Its curious this isn't happening after repeated edits... ?
  10. ^only if it comes with razorblades in the seams...
  11. FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
  12. well, that's a fair argument i guess.... lol.
  13. Since you were there this morning, you could have checked it out yourself?
  14. While we all know how long construction can be delayed, a simple wooden structure with water spilling off of it wouldn't take a month to construct... Nearmap doesn't show the helicopter in-park at sea world either - but we know its there...
  15. The ride pad has definitely been expanded, looks to be to the south-east into the ski lake. Hope this works... maps.wmv
  16. I'm not disagreeing with you, but one thing to keep in mind is that Sea World's ground preparation will likely take a lot longer than Dreamworld, due to the nature of the shallow water table, and sandy soils.
  17. Disagree. Storms tend to bring intense rainfall. It makes site prep, and concreting incredibly difficult. Once the foundations and concreting is done, sure, afternoon storms shouldn't delay much, but we're not there yet...
  18. "your" theme parks "my" fun They're really reaching, aren't they?
  19. He did give an alternative - thanks for selectively quoting. I like either idea. if done safely and in a controlled manner, learning to carve a pumpkin would be a really cool and unique element to the event. I'd certainly like to try my hand at it before butchering something at home...
  20. I disagree, but regardless - if it's that important that the government should fund it, it shouldn't be behind the Dreamworld admission gates. It shouldn't be inside a theme park at all.
  21. Don't bring facts into a good argument! Yes this is true, so it is more likely going ahead, but still - always time to change their mind... and if i recall, it isn't too hard to clear a 'seating area' for a new ride - few people would complain about losing a space to a new ride.
  22. If only they had a western themed food outlet to serve food from...
