Theme Park Merchandise
in your opinion. Personally, If given the choice between a t-shirt and a polo shirt I will choose the polo. It says, this isn't formal, but you have enough respect for the occasion to wear a collar. But... that is my opinion.

Theme Park Merchandise
You aren't going to subsidise merch to try and advertise your park. Although Disney would be a talking point to many, you probably aren't getting the same reaction to many others. I wear an assortment of park polos daily - an Avatar experience (Nike) polo, and then usually several VRTP polos including 2 SW (a shark silhouette, and a traditional logo) and then the same silhouette shirt (same colour and all) with the WBMW logo. None of them are talking points... (although my colleagues do know of my affinity for parks, and all too well know not to get me started - so thats probably a contributing factor). All in all, its cheaper to get a t-shirt, and screen print a design on it than it is to embroider a logo on a polo, and that's the major deciding factor - cheaper, quicker, with a higher margin. And polos don't sell as well as t-shirts because they are typically more expensive, and have a higher cost

What international park \ destination is better for someone with young kids?
Thanks - it is something we've thought about - but my brother works in Shanghai for half the year, and has offered us his local guide \ driver \ interpreter for a pretty nice price if we were to take up the offer, which is part of the reason why Shanghai came up on the radar late in the piece...

The difference, is that Skeeta didn't offend someone, and then complain about people being offensive. He returns serve, and gets as good as he gives. My issue is with the hypocritical nature of posts from someone who will, in the same breath, insult someone (return salvo or not) and then call them out for insulting someone. My post (which is the one that has been removed) simply used the same words and intentions, and substituted some key words to turn the same post around on the original poster. That meaning has obviously been lost - but the hypocrisy remains. For what its worth - the fact that the mods removed it, and not the preceding posts demonstrate that a line was crossed, and for that, I do apologise, both to Push, and to everyone else intelligent on these boards. I don't believe in blocking anyone - which is probably why I do rile up. Happy for Push to block me if he so chooses. I think, however - in Push's case - he does intentionally set out to irritate and annoy. He's entitled to his opinion, yes. And that opinion can be right, or wrong. I do occasionally agree with him, and give the requisite 'like' when he does so. However, stupid things like "i am dumb, so i await correction by someone wise" repeated on every post, or taking any mention of SkyVoyager as an opportunity to spout about how far away boxing day is, is annoying. The guaranteed reply from him anytime a park announces a thrill ride - can be used to set your watch. Unfortunately, like many others - he has given himself a particular reputation on these boards. The difference is that others either leave because they aren't welcome, or they change their behavior. I'm not perfect - and here, clearly, I was in the wrong - but please do not pretend that he is the victim - he is just as much an antagonist as most others here. ETA: As for 'not being a crusader' - you do seem to bring up the dictionary definition a lot. The definition of Crusader is By that definition, your statement that you are standing up for what is right to try and enact some positive change, i think - is easily covered by the above definition. Finally - Apologies for bringing this back up after several days of silence. This wasn't intentional, and simply because i didn't get around to finalising my thoughts in a timely fashion. I would like to ask the mods perhaps if the preceding page or so could be split off and put somewhere else - but que sera.

Whilst a strict "thesis level" citation is difficult - FACT - it is unquestionable that the government have put the amusements industry under a microscope. FACT - It is also unquestionable that this microscope was brought upon by the revelations post-TRRR. The Queensland Premier is on record about both of these facts. FACT - It is a matter of public record during the inquest that Dreamworld had previously argued they should be exempt from normal WH&S inspections FACT - It is also a matter of public record that Dreamworld's construction, modification, maintenance and operation of TRRR was well below an acceptable Australian Standard. FACT - Dreamworld's social teams routinely reply to questions about Sky Voyager with answers suggesting 'box ticking' for them to ensure compliance is holding it up. These facts draw a pretty clear inference that regulatory hurt is impacting the industry, and indeed the park, and this hurt was caused by them. Whilst that isn't a fact - its hard for me to see any other possibility, given the number of people on these forums who are involved in the industry (or related works) that seem to have an inside perspective on what is happening.

Dreamworld CEO talks thrill ride replacements off the back of Ardent Leisure cash injection
@CaptainLazerGuns, I congratulate you on holding firm on your position, and clarifying (in other threads) those points that have been misunderstood. Through other means, I know that you don't share the same lean as many Parkz articles recently - and that is entirely your prerogative (I too disagree with the viewpoint Parkz puts forward from time to time - and am not backward in coming forward on that - the best part about that though, is that Richard is happy to discuss and debate respectfully). It's important that everyone take stock and recognise that the articles published by Parkz are predominantly editorial (albeit well researched, and usually based in factual stats) - but as such, are the opinion of the editor. Like any major publication, the Editor has the choice of influencing and directing the angle that the publication takes, and whilst many recent Parkz articles have focussed on the negativity of Dreamworld's actions, it's hardly unwarranted. It's ok to disagree with these articles, and to share your view on the issues at hand - but i'd like to pose one question (that i've asked myself when disagreeing with the angle Parkz has taken) - is the "echo chamber" really just nodding in agreement because they're mindless bobbleheads? Is it really an echo? Or is Parkz just saying what many of us are already thinking?

That's insulting @Skeeta Apparently, only some people are allowed to insult others Yes, some are allowed to stand. The fact that one has been removed, when the original remains, also speaks volumes. You mean like inferring that someone isn't intelligent? There's an awful lot of black kettles here folks.

Luna Park Sydney's expansion
As Jobe mentioned, the changes that have occurred since Cyclone resided there as Big Dipper would probably mean - provided they followed the proper approvals process - the nearby residents would not be able to complain and shut the park down as they once did. Personally, if they were going to build a large scale coaster, i'd prefer to see them try something similar to california screamin - a steel coaster, made to resemble a woodie, to pay homage to the seaside amusement parks of old (ala cyclone). Whether they could fit it - who knows - Disney did a wonderful job of building the Pier in and amongst the CaliScreamin ride infrastructure - so it could be done...

Probably an industry swear word in the current environment. I realise things like Einstein and Scuba aren't the same sort of risk, and i'd love to see more unique things like this, but the in-house development these days *cough* thunder lake *cough* isn't what it used to be.

What international park \ destination is better for someone with young kids?
Nope. States are reserved for when he is older. i want to hook him on Disney, not sell the farm on something he isn't going to be able to experience to the fullest - hence why you decided to wait until your boy is 7 (7 is our minimum for USA). the states aren't on the agenda at present, and for several reasons - i'm sticking with Asia.

this was kind of the crux of what i was getting at. Our office first aid room has a standard door size, but a second, hinged, breakaway panel on the other side that can be opened by sliding a single bolt, painted bright orange and mounted at eye level.

Is there another door to that place? it's an awfully long funnel for people to get in and out at the same time. Imagine, if you will, that a person in a wheelchair (or with a stroller) has just entered to get one of those ride access passes. The wheelchair is effectively blocking the aisle. Now imagine if: A critical emergency happens at the park (such as TRRR) or if an ambulance already in attendance is ready to exit with their patient on a stretcher. Gonna be a fair delay trying to get past the wheelchair \ stroller... Movie World knew this almost 30 years ago - double doors, large entrance foyer. *facepalm*

Did they change the dates before or after it was closed? doesnt sound “scheduled” to me... I think the “axle carrier” comment was referring to GL not AA.

What's gone wrong with SkyVoyager?
If you take the big billboard at value, they're selling their rides - and if you buy 3 of them, you get one free. Apparently the Claw is the first one up for grabs...
