Movie World Maintenance 2019
Pretty certain rapids operators shut down within 24 hours of TRRR incident. You could forgive it if it occurred over the weekend for government regulators to wait until monday, but March 25th was 9 business days prior to the GL closure. Its a stretch at best, unless they've discovered a flaw during the investigation... but given the amputee status, i'm thinking perhaps the restraint was ineffective due to the missing limbs.

What's gone wrong with SkyVoyager?
Went past in February and it was still Sky Voyager.

Movie World Maintenance 2019
The adventuredome incident occurred on March 25th. For GL to be open until April 4, it can't be connected. Plus, the woman who fell out was apparently a double amputee - which may have had something to do with her coming out of the restraints...

What international park \ destination is better for someone with young kids?
Starting to look at some overseas parks to take our son. He will be at least 4 before we travel (and we're watching his height closely for some of the e-ticket height limits) but we're tossing up several options. I know i'm probably asking the wrong audience given the demographics here, but I know we've got some parents on the board - some of which have been overseas with them - so i'm looking for thoughts, suggestions, and ideas - first on where to go, and then - any hints and tips. Each place has its own pros and cons. I've been to Singapore and HK, and my wife has been to HK, but this would be our first overseas trip as a family. We have considered HK & Singapore combined too, and likewise Tokyo & Osaka as well. Not considering USA, or Europe, just due to the travel time - so something in Asia would be easier for us to manage right now. Open to other suggestions too, but if it doesn't have at least Disney or Universal, it'd be a hard sell. So.... hit me with what you've got!

The trouble is, they tried raising their prices and following VRTP, but couldn't keep rides open and offer something similar. Many people's passes have expired and they were waiting for sky voyager to renew them. With that promise languishing for more than 3 months, most would have made the decision to hop to VRTP, and now that they're locked in with VRL for 12 months, this discounting is coming far too late in the piece to have any real impact.- The Off Topic Topic

Sorry. they're too violent. I'm sorry Tim - I know you follow much of what Mark says, and I have a lot of respect for the guy and his time in the industry (and I wish more park management in this country had that sort of experience) but 30 years is not a 'rough time span' applied as a blanket across every ride made ever. Further, the 30 year mark, on some attractions, is just the time for a major overhaul \ refurb - as @HussRainbow87 mentioned above. There are many factors - how hard they work and how often. how well they are maintained. what climate they operate in. Wonderland ran for almost 20 years. Many of its opening day attractions were second hand, mostly shipped out of Paramount parks in the USA or Canada to make way for an exciting new attraction. When Wonderland closed, several were packed up and shipped to Malaysia to operate at Sunway lagoon. According to RCDB, there is 11 pages of roller coasters still operating today in their original position, that opened before 1989. At 24 results per page, that's 264 exceptions to the rule, without counting flat rides. If you have that many exceptions, its not a rule. Its not even a guideline.- The Off Topic Topic

I don't mind attraction specific shirts for some of the big rides in a park, but what i do want to see more of is POLO SHIRTS. Nice, good quality. by all means go dye sublimation and have a really nice full colour thing like dreamworld, but don't use the same montage of ride photos that means the shirt is dated simply by referencing which rides are still running. My preference (and things I wear almost weekly) is a nice wick-away (not heavy cotton or synthetic) polo, in a single, or two\three-toned colour scheme, with the park logo on, or in the position of, the breast pocket. MW and SW have these (although some are identical shirts designs in the same colours, just with a different logo, which is a bit of a cheap out.) Polos in the 90's and 00's were widely available at parks all over - but in the 2010s, the collar seems to have disappeared to be replaced by simple crew neck t-shirts, which is disappointing.- Adventure World MI4 - 2019
You mean, immortalising it in the park's history, rather than putting an oxy torch through the middle of it and wiping it out of the park altogether? Was there really a need for you to quote every picture all over again? Positive news @iwerks - good to see the park hasn't completely lost its momentum when Mark departed.- The Off Topic Topic
'days before' ? I once did a still photo shoot for Jamberoo. We contacted the park, and were given a marketing contact. we contacted them. they took a couple weeks to get back to us. then we spoke, discussed our plans, and agreed what we could do. then we gave them a date we'd like to come. then they said that didn't work for them as they couldn't arrange for Dax to meet us that weekend, so we changed our date. We then presented at the ticket counter, explaining who we were, and waited at the front gate for their representative to meet us, sign us in, and issue us with a visitor pass that would identify us to their staff. This whole process took about 3 months. I'm currently in the process of planning a trip O/S - which isn't for another year. If I were intending on visiting parks over there for "commercial" purposes, i'd be contacting them now. I can see why others would call it a tantrum, and now i've read the entire thread I see we've settled on 'hissy fit'. My personal thoughts were "having a big sook". ...first you need to fill out an application form and pay the required fee. You'll be notified in 4-6 weeks whether your application has been successful. This. Probably a perfect marketing slogan for PCL.- Reviews & Reactions - Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster: Next Generation

976 pages will be devoted to discussion on what colour the ride actually is...- How to fix Dreamworld
In the current "make an announcement, but it's ok to change your mind later about it" environment, here's how that should go down. plan for new giga coaster (or similar) determine demolition timeline needed for ToT order new giga coaster, and ensure financing arrangements are taken care of Announce new ride, and demolition of TOT same day. Announce closing date of ToT within ~few weeks. Make big noise about one last ride. Maybe run a competition on a radio station for people to win seats on the last ride ever. give them some sort of one of a kind or limited edition souvenir from the ride close the ride immediately begin demolition if you've timed it right, you can also begin surveying the site for the new coaster (and you should have been surveying the other non TOT parts of the ride path already If you've timed it right, ride parts should begin arriving in the carpark. Once demolition is complete, start construction. THAT is how you replace a ride. (and i hope Movie World and Sea World are watching this too.- Someone is coming to Dreamworld
