  1. Clearly you've never been to Melbourne Aquarium. If you did you'd know it's one big Aquarium which is easy to navigate. It was a planned Aquarium. Maybe you are confusing it with Aquarium, which is aquarium bowl lol. aquarium. Aquarium. *I am not calling anyone a dumbass. Just admitting i'm a smartass. Seriously though - too many places building slides, not enough places building coasters, amirite?
  2. What other headlines could work here? DREAMWORLD ANNOUNCE S NEW ALL-FEMALE STAFF TO ENCOURAGE VISITATION IN THE TEENAGE BOY MARKET DREAMWORLD ANNOUNCES WET T-SHIRT CONTEST TO ENCOURAGE MALE VISITATION DREAMWORLD ANNOUNCES IT HAS HIRED 6 NEW BLIND RIDE OPERATORS. E-STOPS NOW MARKED IN BRAILLE KENNY KOALA HOLDS ROSE CEREMONY. BELINDA BROWN RECEIVES A ROSE. RELATED: 6 CONTESTANTS CALL PROGRAMME 'RIGGED' DREAMWORLD MAKES ANOTHER ANNOUNCEMENT. IT WASN'T A RIDE, SO NOBODY CARED. DREAMWORLD ANNOUNCES IT HAS BEEN 83 DAYS SINCE SKY VOYAGER WAS SUPPOSED TO OPEN. The way I read it was they'd engaged an external RTO to operate it for them...
  3. Since you've chosen a name that is easily googled to reveal an existing product by the same name you must surely work for Ardent... If only you'd chosen a name that could be confused with a Porn star - then you could have made 'head of department'!!!
  4. Unfortunately, you not only need money, you also need population. In the words of Jon Safran - never live in Adelaide. Its a hole.
  5. Oh my god. 5 out of the last 8 posts. For gods sake settle down old son - you're going to make yourself sick... (and nobody wants to get sick in Melbourne... the constant bad weather will never let you get better!) It's quite amusing that you've argued your right to speak your mind, but continue to insult those who disagree with you. You told a person who had been to melbourne that they haven't been to melbourne. You then invalidated their opinion because 'they were more familiar with Sydney' You then claimed my comment was the 'most stupid comment i've ever read', and said it was immature and unfounded, and suggested I was a child Meanwhile, i've not said one derogatory thing directed specifically at you, and at worst, i've generalised about stereotypes, which is no worse than what has been said by you or others either. So - roll over onto your stomach to minimise butt-hurt. Have mummy apply some cream to soothe the burn, and avoid forums for at least 48 hours. Hey, it's not like i've made a secret of it - it's right there below my name. Try something new, will you? You're starting to make me think you're another Avatar of push the way you're going. ok everybody, repeat after me... Kum-Bay-Yah My Lord.....
  6. Q: How do you know if someone is from Melbourne? A: Don't worry, they'll tell you. Much of this discussion is centered around the roads, and Melbourne is "apparently" great to navigate... ...At the end of the day... ^This almost entirely ends the debate.* *Gold coast is not as good as Melbourne or Sydney at putting on international games ceremonies, apparently.

  8. This 2018 thread is only for 2018 posts! Begone 2019 posts!
  9. +1 to @MickeyD's experience - i rode the same SFMM version, and always found it an interesting ride. I'd have loved to have seen one out here!
  10. Flume ride shut because it was too flumey. Brand new multimillion dollar venue shut because insufficient drainage. That used to be Kenny and Belinda's job, but the park probably shot them to save money.
  11. They've probably run out of the old version of the park map, and have a whole bunch of new ones with SV on the map, so now they need signage...
  12. Yeah. Nothing like interstate and international travellers having to try and negotiate a hook turn with no idea how. Yeah - if you could just pick a season and stick with it for a day, maybe. LOL. I just find it so amusing how hard melbourne locals will try to convince non-locals how amazing their city is. Sydney 10th worst? in the usual global rankings, melbourne scores at or near the top, but Sydney has also consistently been in the top 10 or so for many years. These sorts of rankings are very subjective, and really doesn't mean anything - it is a small group's opinion, which may, or may not agree with your own point of view. Take ReviewTyme's rating system, for example....
  13. But you can have your opinion it's all good man.
  14. Rides missing their opening date (or their return from maintenance date being pushed back) just seems to be par for the Australian course...
  15. It's ok. It'll open in the coming weeks.
  16. In theory yes, but in practice - building certifiers that do a lot of work for the same organisation sometimes tick and flick things, or overlook things intentionally to save money, and assume authorities won't check it. I've seen this occur. I'm not suggesting DW has done this... but it can happen.
  17. the concept of backwards having a price tag is because supply is limited. If every tom dick and harry can collect the courier mail, get some stamps and then get a free ride, the afternoon queue will die (and the park won't get the revenue they could otherwise get). A free batman mask you can already get with a kids meal at gotham probably isn't going to work either.
  18. It may also well be that Dreamworld's spec for the build was defective, and the contractors delivered exactly what was spec'd.
  19. So much for the image portrayed post-incident of 'caring for their stafffamily' They've saved them from a burning building only to board them onto a sinking ship.
  20. This link should help explain it.
  21. Here's my 45 cents. Dreamworld is in a shit position. Much of it is their own making, they HAD to offer something these holidays, or their attendance and revenue would just continue to plummet. Cosentino is at least better than However - School Holidays are big bonanza times for the parks (with Easter being second to Christmas). If VRTP are going with the strategy of ...Then that is just not good enough. It doesn't have to be anything stupendous - it just has to be something new, to give regular visitors a reason to visit - a reason to come back to the park, and spend more money. A new character appearance. A special parade. A special street show. A dress up day with prizes for best costume (although have rules around professional cosplayers, and just offer Merch as prizes instead of large quantities of cash). I remember Wonderland did a treasure hunt one holiday, where you had to take your treasure map around the park and get it stamped at various places, and if you got all of the stamps you got a little gift pack. Some of these suggestions cost a bit more than others. Some helps to cycle older merch the park would like to refresh. There's a little advertising budget involved here, but anything is better than "Woophoric" - team up with the courier mail and put a sunday paper lift out with the treasure map... I don't even work for a park and i've come up with several ideas, some of which can still be achieved in time for the start of holidays... so it isn't too late for MW to pick something up, but its disappointing that Cosentino - which is a big announcement for a holiday attraction - has gone unanswered by VRTP. (And yes, I acknowledge that in their current position, they probably dont need to answer it - but for the reasons stated above - they still should.)
  22. That title is a dubious one at best. How some of the world's most amazing cities were beaten by Hipsters who like to deconstruct their toast is beyond me.
  23. At 4pm on Thursday March 7th, the share price was $1.56 On Friday, Dreamworld launched their 'someone is coming' teaser, revealing more clues and hints about who was coming to Dreamworld. Conclusion - Cosentino does not appeal to investors.
