Movie World Overflow Carpark update
Unless you build the hotel behind AOS, I don't think its the best idea to hide the biggest impact frontage (big rollercoasters and ride towers) behind multideck carparks and hotels. There's a reason Green Lantern, DC Rivals and TopGolf all have giant LED signboards with their logos out the front. The only place i'd put the hotel is on the current grass overflow, but since the overflow is required regularly for summer, fright night and christmas night events, the new overflow potentially will allow them to build their hotel. And maybe council might learn from their loss in court here, and will be more open to approvals for the hotel (although, given the principal lot is already zoned, it should give rise to less objections)

In the 90's, there was a game show produced by channel 9 called Cash Bonanza. THis page has a few stills from the show, which shows the audience layout and stage sets - https://australiangameshows.fandom.com/wiki/Cash_Bonanza This page also has some of the same photos, but i think some others. i didn't check too pedantically, but either way it has pics of the showstage too - http://members.iinet.net.au/~powney/gameshow/cashbonanza2001.htm

Sea World Ferry Service
It only undergone major refurbishment last year and yet it's closed for a long period again You're right. We should disregard those who do want to spend the entire day there. They should just be thankful they can experience the morning ferry, and not be so selfish so as to expect them to pick them up at the close of business. Since the park is able to be done in such a short time, i'd like to propose to Bikash that they reduce Sea World's operating hours, and close the park at 4... because nobody needs that last hour.

Don't you think (despite my better judgment) that this would be better suited to the more general maintenance threads, rather than an update about february - when your post isn't?

It may well do - right up until the park starts installing new attractions that result in longer days for visitors - such as the rumored 2020 attraction...

Sea World Ferry Service
You know you are allowed to ride each ride more than once, right? take your time? stroll instead of powerwalk? Try visiting Sea World with a toddler and you'll see just how long it takes you to get through the whole park. I agree - childless visitors can be done early, and prior to us acquiring a 3 foot tall wrecking ball, we could spend half a day at the park and be quite satisfied. Regardless, the park is open until 5, and guests should have the option of enjoying the entire day for their money. Given the ferry is branded 'Sea World' it seems a bit ludicrous that the timetable doesn't take that into account. Hopefully the new Ski Show might have an 'end of the day' show just like the old ski show did - and give people a REASON to stay until 5... As for the bus - sure, let's launch this brand new co-branded "experience" for our guests, and tell them if they want full value for their money, they should catch a (non branded, not owned by us and therefore no profit goes to us) public bus to get home.

Sea World Ferry Service
https://seaworldcruises.com.au/sea-world-ferry/ Interesting points: Timing - departs Surfers at 9am, for arrival at the park at 9:35am. Leaves the park 4:15pm to arrive back at surfers by 5pm - so by taking advantage of this option, you lose 45 minutes inside the park. Cost - Adult return is $18, kids are $13. I appreciate the vessel is costly to operate, but the 35 minute cruise from surfers can also be done by an Uber in 5 for a lot less money. I appreciate its a much more leisurely way to get there, and they have a bar on board, but 30 minutes to enjoy a leisurely drink along with a boatload of others probably isn't enough time. Something they could do to sweeten the deal on this is to offer those who use the ferry an exclusive entry gate. All this would require is one of those ticket scanners on a trolley - which they already have several of - at a 'special entrance' for ferry passengers, and potentially tie this in as 'early entry' to the park. Actual cost is minimal (staff to man the gate - the ferry stewards could do this) but it would really give an incentive to catch the ferry over an uber. Frequency - they have one trip each way a day. a further two* services commence June 1 (right in the middle of that busy winter peak season!), but it does make it a bit limiting. *front page says two services, 'cruise times' page says 3... Features - Snacks, Drinks, (both user pays) and free on board wifi are enticing bonuses. Overall, I guess its good that they're maximising the use of their cruise boat asset. I hope its successful (and profitable) for them. Let's see if its still operating this time next year...

The camera is interesting. Looking at the ride height, and imagining how high it will be during operation, riders are likely to be above the roof line, and will be obscured from the operator booth (especially in 1-man operation). Also given it's height above the midway, it would likely attract misbehavior from such an elevated position - so it would be a good opportunity to capture riders on film...- If Dreamworld is sold, will it be continued as a theme park or redeveloped into properties?
Well said. My only observation is that legislation is unlikely to be brought for Dreamworld. LPS's history is far longer, and far more entrenched in history than DW They tried similar appeals to government to save Wonderland - it didn't work The government isn't likely to take action to keep a park operating that killed people so recently and fresh in everyone's minds. it would be seen as endorsing the sort of culture that lead to the accident in the first place. The park is no more or less deserving to be saved by government intervention than a Westfield or a movie theatre. Its a privately owned property - and i'd much prefer the government put their funds towards projects that benefit the community at large, rather than a private corporation that mismanaged the hell out of their asset, and had no place or business being there in the first place.- The Off Topic Topic
What I don't get - i got 5 reacts on Saturday - 4 fountains, and one thumbs up? like wtf? at least be consistent!- Big Banana To Expand With Waterpark
I admit its been a while since I did the run in one stretch, but last time I did the full stretch, it was about 12 hours from Sydney to Brisbane, so 8 hours sounds a bit tight... according to google, from the GC to Berowra Waters at the northernmost point you could call 'in sydney' it still comes in at 9.5 hours... i guess the leadfoots sitting above the limit could probably nudge it down to 8ish... We usually tend to stop in Coffs because we have family there, but I must admit when other bypass sections opened up - such as the Ballina bypass, it was certainly a much cleaner run. Our family sits on the southern end of Coffs, so it might even be worth taking the bypass, and then backtracking where the road links back up. ..Just had a look. It literally bypasses JUST the low speed roads that form part of the PAC mwy, so it would be worth my while to take the bypass, and then backtrack, provided there was a convenient way to do so - its a shame it diverts just before the banana, but it does look like there is a northbound onramp to the southbound bypass, so those wanting to stop at the banana potentially could still backtrack and get back on the bypass to bypass the town proper...- Reviews & Reactions - Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster: Next Generation
