I just think the model is bogus. The time limit means the more people you bring, the less play you get - so if you really wanted to give it a good crack, you wouldn't bring a lot of people with you - which = less F&B spend. I think their concern is that if they don't have a time limit, you'll park there all day, making it hard for them to turn over the bays. i think if they were more reasonable and allowed say - 15 minutes or 20 balls per player - a group of 4 would get an hour to roll through the game (which i think is reasonable) but a group of 6 would get 90 minutes. Likewise a group of 2 would get only half an hour... You could still pay for additional time if you wanted to go slower, or pay for an additional game to get the same block of time as above. I guess that does complicate things more - but i'd love to see them run on a service model the same as a bowling alley where you pay per game, rather than per hour (although, at the end of the day, at least when you're paying by the hour, Village is letting you know you're getting screwed).

There's no new major rides or attractions coming to Dreamworld after Sky Voyager
Except Pony Express was enjoyable. It is actually... https://www.9news.com.au/2019/02/25/18/47/lime-scooter-injury-banned-new-zealand-brisbane Come to think of it - Lime Scooters might be well suited to Dreamworld.

Aussie World themeing
I wouldn't expect a pom to understand what makes something "Aussie" but.. well, apart from the pub, which isn't inside the park, let's take a look - There's the Disk'o, themed to a Giant Redback (spider in case you weren't sure), and other rides such as the Mozzie Musta, the Bombora Bounce, and the Tin Lids tea party - arguably all quite "Aussie" (as well as the Platypus Ponds mini golf!). Then there's other rides which, while they aren't all 'strictly' Aussie, make a better connection to the park's overall theme than a motorbike coaster in Rivertown - especially since much of the theme in that area is an aussie 'fairground' which does allow for a hodge podge of random rides - don't you remember an old fairground looking exactly like that? Don't forget the plunge... nothing says Australia like rusty corrugated iron and log flumes! And what about dunny races? I mean really - what makes something "aussie" anyway? What is "aussie cuisine" for example? Just like Russell Crowe, Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger and Pavlova - its Aussie if we say its Aussie.

My first visit to TG (in its first few weeks) was pretty good - but it has dropped off severely. Its clear staff just don't care. At the very least, they need a button (where the environmental buttons are) or a soft button on the touch screens that calls for service - and similar to the 'bussing' function - should change the colour of the bay number on the roof behind it, or make it flash, to draw the attention of the service staff. In addition to speeding up service to guests, it would also provide reporting data for the company to see whether their staff are meeting KPIs on guest satisfaction as the time between being called, and the call being answered would be recorded.

What's gone wrong with SkyVoyager?
I don't disagree on the target market. I'm not a fan of flowers per se. However - I've been to floriade. twice in fact. (there's just so many great photos to be taken in and around LBG!), and i think it'd be something different - it might even bring some people in, who wouldn't ordinarily visit the park, just to see the show\exhibition. It wasn't their only option from what was said above, and for it to be one of the many suggestions they were brainstorming - i'm ok with it. if it had won out, then you'd probably be able to say quite easily - they didn't try very hard - but considering how well Disney does their landscaping, and then you look at things like the Epcot international flower and garden festival - clearly they're at least looking for inspiration in the right places... and for that I can't critique them too heavily.. Would it be something that would encourage me to renew my AP to visit? no. but then - sky voyager isn't enough to do that right now either - but for those it appealed to, it'd be something on the roster for summer.

Oh, ahhh.... sorry - my bad. Ahem... That explains a lot.

What's gone wrong with SkyVoyager?
That's really a small budget when you consider that Floriade - the biggest annual flower show in the country has a budget of over $3Million (and in 2017 - they exceeded their budget by more than $1Million - spending more than $4Million - on. a. flower. show. $100k isn't a whole lot though. Its a drop in the ocean. How much did renting a star flyer cost? How much did a fit out of showstage cost to present the Aquaman props? What did the fire machine cost? $100k to have "something" in your summer offering is worth every penny... Flowers might not be to your taste, but the Toowoomba show suggests some people find it interesting enough. Just check out the info above on Floriade...

This was what i was referring to Because the track was fine. I do apologise though (and unreservedly withdraw my fountain), because my recall suggested you had a history of bull, when you were in fact quite the opposite. I was incorrect, and I am sorry.

Agree, but then you've gotta accommodate everyone or someone will cry and say they're being discriminated against.

I'm pretty sure construction was completed a while back now... are you sure this belongs here? https://www.parkz.com.au/forums/topic/6679-read-this-parkz-policies-guidelines/?do=findComment&comment=135700 Do we think TG is performing as well as they hoped? Are they improving this for aesthetics, or is it trying to drive visitation? Thanks for the update mate - i think it looks really good!

A Movie World History Lesson
Perfectly done MickeyD! To add: Yosemite Sam's Diner used to be right next to the Looney Tunes stage \ theatre. It was a covered, but open air ampitheatre, and used to host a LT stage show. Naturally, it made way for RRRC, at which point the food outlet kind of lost most of it's audience. As for sundowners - where Intencity \ Matrix \ Harry Potter was is where the Young Einstein Gravity Homestead used to reside, (from memory)...

Sea World to launch new Thunder Lake Stunt Show
I'll respond to your PM to save you further embarassment, but Since you added your own 2 cents, i'll respond too. What's clear enough (now that i know what part you're referring to) is that the part from the 'website' you couldn't possibly have referenced, is almost word for word also quoted in the article you quoted above. If you'd just referenced the quote, or pointed to what specific part you were trying to compare to, it'd have been much easier for everyone to understand what you were actually referring to. I'll see you in PM.

There's no new major rides or attractions coming to Dreamworld after Sky Voyager
That explains a lot. That explains a lot. I'm sorry - but i've never waited for this ride for more than 1 cycle. For a ride of it's age, it doesn't get the patronage - don't tell me it's only enthusiasts that dislike it. Anyone doing the parks on the coast will at some point ride both MDMC and Jet Rescue and immediately regard MDMC as the poor cousin. For the record, since you brought Arkham in - i've regularly waited 30-45 minutes for Arkham, even today - and Arkham is 12 years older than MDMC.

Gaudy. Hideous. Reminds me of the colour scheme you see on cheap chinese ride imports. I hate it, and its a great example of what I don't want to see in our parks. Go and have a look at bug run for how you take a fairly similar attraction and do it right.

but it honestly isn't worth keeping a waterpark open for 4-5 months if you're only seeing locals through the gate - they pay nothing to get in, yet you have to have a full staff on site to cater to them, and because they're regular visitors, they aren't buying merch, and they probably aren't eating there. the losses would be phenomenal. you might as well cut off your nose to spite your face. It's worth more money to save on wage costs, maintenance costs and operating costs than it is to lose a few people who want to swim at a waterpark in winter.

Sea World to launch new Thunder Lake Stunt Show
I can confidently say that Paw Patrol is really suited to the 2-7 year old audiences it is targeted at. I find it laughable that Push constantly whines when a park introduces a coaster because 'not everyone likes coasters' but then he'll go and bash them when they introduce literally ANYTHING else that isn't perfectly suited to him. It's not about special assistance. it's about pointing everyone to what you're actually talking about to save the inevitable to-and-fro of: "i don't see it - where on the website was it?" "it was on the front page banner" "i don't see a banner on the front page, should i try the news tab?" "no it was just on the front page for me - are you using firefox?" "no, im using safari" "oh, are you using an ipad?" "no, an iphone" "oh ok, it doesn't come up on my iphone but it worked on desktop" "i don't have desktop" "ok, try this" Besides - i've seen how you carry on on social media - going and answering the questions people ask the park social teams before the social teams respond - why are you so "helpful" there, but you have to be such a pratt here? Didn't you get banned from VRTP parks for a while? Its in much the similar vein as:

I know we all hate MDMC, but one of the issues Dreamworld had was it was all off the ground. Cut all the supports and drop it low to the ground, and it could be something.... more if you can find a spot to drop a second set of launch wheels too... and replace the trains - or at least the restraints.... You have to understand that, even before we knew about the lack of maintenance, and the care-free attitude towards killing people, everyone hated MDMC. It wouldn't matter what park it was in. As a matter of fact it ranked in dead last on some coaster polls a while ago. Everything about it sucks.

There's no new major rides or attractions coming to Dreamworld after Sky Voyager
Agree on all accounts. Dreamworld as it stands, more or less is much the same size as Movie World - although Movie World does make far better use of the land available. As for an apples vs. apples comparison - i think Dreamworld vs. Movie World, the DW marketing campaign should be 'biggest', because they are (more quality is needed), however if you were to compare PC, WNW and MW with DW\WWW, i think your marketing strategy has to change up at that point - you aren't arguing biggest when there's three different parks - you're arguing an all in one message - maybe something like "so many worlds in one" would work? My main point however still stands - Both parks 'as they stand' are comparable - but for MW to expand, there is little room to the south, due to the studios and other facilities. There is little to the west, because of their neighbours and boundaries. Not much option going north either - so east is their only direction, and that involves a complete realignment of the park entry and carpark. Dreamworld on the other hand has about 4 key areas they can expand without impacting external entry or facilities. Approximately 30,000 sqm of land is occupied by Blue Lagoon and the former Goldrush* Approximately 34,000 sqm of land is occupied by the Island and River Approximately 14,000 sqm of land is occupied by the lazy river construction zone. *I view these as two separate areas, each about half the total, for expansion. The 'blue lagoon' space does include the train sheds and tracks - however this doesn't preclude development of a kick ass coaster in and around the area designed to fit around the sheds and facilities. It also includes BB Studios, which is "inside the berm" so to speak. If Dreamworld master planned these areas, with an 8 year, $100M budget, they could be installing a "maximum impact" attraction every two years. When you consider the park value decline - the money they've lost on that value could have been spent on this master plan, which would absolutely see them back on the map. It's just that they don't have the balls to pull that trigger...

Not my maps, but if we're going to nitpick every possible unusable space, you'll note the admin buildings behind HWSW are included, as is Sky Voyager, despite currently being guest inaccessible. And while maintenance sheds and other admin buildings aren't included, there's a decent space behind Roxy and other main street buildings that IS included. Where practically excludable from the finished boundary, it has been - otherwise we can painstakingly measure out the loop the train does around blue lagoon - since that's guest accessible too. The Rivers of America, and Tom Sawyer Island, have plenty of guest inaccessible parts, yet nobody would think to exclude that from 'disneyland' in measuring it - so i don't see why the Murrisippi should be? But... if you insist - Dreamworld - excluding admin buildings, excluding Sky Voyager (since it isn't guest accessible), The river and island - hell, let's exclude the dodgems and arcade just for shits and giggles. We'll exclude the brock sheds too, since it isn't open... And we're still looking at a bigger park envelope. It's not by much - but as mentioned, there's still plenty of guest inaccessible areas on the MW map too... So.... since nearmap is still open... why not? Note, that this still includes the BOH area that is the old chinatown alley from main street to the back end of gotham where the scooby lane opens up, which of course is more than just the superman showbuilding... I've excluded as much of the admin buildings as i can - including those behind Rick's \ Roxy. Maintenance and storage have been cut out, as has been the BOH areas behind HWSD. I've sliced a portion out of showstage to allow for the mixed use that is Aquaman... Sure, it's much closer, and if we allow a margin for error, hamfisted plotting, or just downright laziness, its close enough to call it a statistical tie - but a tie isn't "Dreamworld (without WhiteWater World) is a smaller park per m2 than Movie World" Call it a draw?
