  1. I'm glad we have your years of construction experience to rely on Push. On a serious note though - thankyou for the frequent updates as we approach Christmas.
  2. Just like that? it's been a fair while with red fences.... it's hardly happened overnight...
  3. they weren't maintaining the victorian facades to the standard required. I've often sat at central station looking up at the ice cream shop wondering just how much the paint was holding together. They already ruined other facades - the new exit to the parkway, the gaudy paint job on some other buildings. Ironically, since these buildings were inspired by Disney - I encourage you to "let it go". Clearly the park is in a state of change right now. The areas you could include as 'main street' would include areas as far east as the train line, south as far as Claw, north as far as the construction fences - and we've got the bloody fairy shop, a modern airport, a giant modern roof canopy, a super modern looking Kodak and Lego store frontage, parts of victorian buildings that are falling apart. The time to lament the loss of Longhurst's Disney Main Street was long before the thunder river incident. It's not the wrecking ball of progress, rather it is death by a thousand small cuts. Rather than blocking an opportunity for them to install a lower maintenance facade, and an amazing new attraction, perhaps this is just a sign of things to come as they slowly replace old, awesome, but hard to maintain facades with those that are simpler, and easier (read: low maintenance). At this stage, i'd welcome a reimagining of all the shopfronts within the main street precinct, rather than try to cling to some shred of a forgotten era by insisting that the slowly rotting facades be left untouched and in service until they too fall down and kill someone.
  4. I'm absolutely positive it wasn't the phone's fault.
  5. What flavour did you choose?
  6. Push - its a tractor, with a train shell placed over it to make it look like a train. this is one you won't win.
  7. Pigswill. Real whiskey shouldn't be mixed with anything.
  8. I think you've definitely got the right answer. Can you guess which one is correct?
  9. nice concept. poor execution. too confusing how to play. one thread would be enough to ignore, but now i've gotta open two of them to mark them as read. (yes, i know i can mark site as read, but i'm generally not on the unread content page by the time i get through everything)
  10. No grape's, no cherry's. FFS's CocaColaAmatil - will you's just pull your fucking finger's out and bring out freestyle's already?
  11. "No sign of the ride remains" Except that concrete wall right behind the text that formed part of the rapid channel. I had seen demolition of the channel wall in other areas, but it doesn't look like they decided to take this part out. Hope it doesn't come back to bite them in future construction...
  12. Honestly i'm quite surprised we don't see them around more. On my last trip to USS, they had them everywhere - especially near the high thrill attractions. My office has recently replaced their older stock with 63 brand new ones, and a group I volunteer with just voted to buy one for every vehicle in our fleet. At $2000 a pop, they aren't cheap, but they are an incredibly important piece of equipment that all public venues should have.
  13. I think he's suggesting that they kill an inanimate object and remove it from the park.
  14. Doesn't Parkz have a policy on posting links to user's own content? Parks on the coast - a youtube channel - is operated by @Gold Coast Amusement Force Here's the link to the channel info: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6Yv0S_Zpbjmo5zB6QwtD7w/about Email address on the channel is gcthemeparksz@<omitted>.com Facebook page for GCthemeparks - https://www.facebook.com/pg/GCthemepark5/about/?ref=page_internal The Parkz profile for GCAF which lists the youtube channel as their webpage - https://www.parkz.com.au/forums/profile/32341-gold-coast-amusement-force/ which also lists the insta page for gc_themeparks I mean, if its a video of a POV, or an actual, couple of minutes of narrative and footage, sure - but 5 second epileptic scans of a scene which could be much better portrayed in a photo, or slideshows of pictures put into a youtube video that you can't effectively zoom in on or otherwise closely analyse are just shit. Not to mention - this video in particular is combined content so we end up getting the same video posted as a reply to multiple threads - In short, I feel like perhaps posting videos (that are just still-photo slideshows, or short 'vine' like videos) from youtube (since Parkz doesn't host playable videos in forum) is a way of subverting the rules on hot linking to images on other sites. Of course, i'm not a moderator, so whether that is actually breaching the rules, or perhaps if the rules need to change to account for the loophole is entirely up to the Parkz team. Probably toeing a line over the guidelines too. Promotion Users may not create threads or posts for the purposes of advertising other websites. This is regardless of whether or not the website belongs to the user, or whether it could be considered a competing site. This is different to linking to sites for the purposes of promoting stimulating discussions on Parkz. Users may not create accounts, threads or posts to advertise any company, product or service they are affiliated with. Users may not register usernames or use words or images in their profile to promote products, brands or websites that they are affiliated with. 15. We've covered ad nauseum the reasons why Disney isn't going to take over an existing theme park - you can forget Dreamworld ever becoming a Disney property. The only outcome if they were to buy the park would be purely for the land value, as they would likely bulldoze everything. I just don't see that happening. Yes, there is the remotest possibility that they are looking, and looking specifically at Dreamworld - i simply can't rule it out 100% without sitting in the Disney boardroom - but it is highly unlikely they're considering anywhere in Australia at this point in time, let alone Coomera.
  16. Planned or unscheduled? or 'not previously scheduled but we'll put it on our website as scheduled once we know its broken'
  17. I thought we didn't say 'broken down' anymore? isn't the preferred term 'ride stoppage' ?
  18. ^Angry ones. They got evicted from Nickelodeon Central for some bloody panda.
  19. I didn't say anyone was shouting someone down, I was noting that my statement wasn't intended to suggest anyone else's view was wrong, just that it wasn't correct to apply that logic to others. People do pay to enter. I'd pay $20 to take a kid into a petting zoo, feed the animals, watch a sheep dog \ boomerang demo, some (terrible) horsemanship, sheep shearing, etc etc. I don't have to pay, because it is included in my pass - but that doesn't mean I wouldn't if it weren't... my visits might be less frequent, but i'd go. As for your statements, saying 'so we all agree PC isnt worth the entry price' and then saying 'i didn't think locals would pay to get it and this is what i wanted confirmed' don't really gel - so you accept that non locals \ first timers would pay the admission? So it is worth the entry price. Its just not worth re-entry.
  20. come on Skeet, it's like looking in a mirror...
  21. Twice actually, although not straightforward - the first trip we were staying at SWR, and the PC ticket was an upgrade at the tour desk for an additional (but not full price) charge. the second trip we were passholders with PC included, and went along with family and friends who were not passholders, for them to visit for the first time. Does it have repeatability? Not really - but for a first time visitor, and the cost at the time, yes, it was worth it. I've just logged on to have a look at current pricing, and it seems they don't do straight up admission on their site anymore - its entry and lunch, or entry and mining or entry, lunch & mining. I don't really care much for the mining, but i've lunched there before, and had the buffet, and I quite enjoyed it and would happily have paid $20-$25 for the offering - which drops the price of the admission considerably, and the all inclusive ticket is a great package for a day trip. Is it everyone's cup of (billy) tea? no. Am i shouting people down that it's shit and they should all love it? no. Am i saying it has it's target market, and that their offering is of quite some appeal to that particular market segment? yes.
