There seems to be a really nasty habit here of late where people only partially quote something to suit their argument, so for your benefit, here is my original post - i've highlighted the bit you might have missed: Do you need a hammer?

You don't need to be a marketing expert to say that what they've done (not done) goes against the grain of EVERY. SINGLE. PARK. (seasonal or not) Actually, big coasters are marketed in advance with visuals done by 3D rendering. POV videos of the ride etc. Not having it built is not a barrier to effective imagery to market. The discussions on these boards for months have all pretty much agreed - they are stupid for not marketing \ announcing this earlier than they have. Its the popular opinion, and its the right one. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but to say they are right in not marketing it by now is just plain wrong. Even VRTP agrees with this - all one has to do is dig up @Jamberoo Fan's fridge magnet, which was based of facts disclosed by VRTP in annual reports and other media releases that it was their intention to announce the coaster mid-late last year - which puts a nail in the coffin of anyone suggesting that their present marketing strategies are anything planned, or intentional.

At the risk of triggering off another round of debate, the only thing that interests me here is: people suggested wonderwoman people shot down wonderwoman as a suggestion because she has nothing to do with pink\purple\fuschia\magenta\whatever merchandise for the 75th anniversary of Wonder Woman goes on sale, which includes a tie-dye shirt with a fairly close match to the colour scheme of the coaster in it. If there is anything to the rumour that it was originally suicide squad, and they decided to change it, the colour wouldn't exactly fit, but tying merch in to it with similar colour schemes is a good way to validate it...

It depends on how it is laid out, although yes, for a coaster, probably less about pre-show, moving from room to room and more about an amazingly themed queue that gives you something to look at whilst queueing. Scooby is a decent example of this, Space Mountain would be another - but you're right - Disney doesn't go to great lengths for most of its coasters - but the queues are still 'occupying'.

That isn't "movie magic" that's "movie". Sort of like BA:TR, without the cool pre-show. Effectively, you're in a very elaborate simulator. 'Movie Magic' is - just as @wikiverse described - staff playing roles. if you REALLY want to work out what attraction on the gold coast has the best 'movie magic' it would probably be Roxy... because the story at least 'suggests' that you're entering the world of looney tunes. I'm inclined to agree with @joz's comments above - improve the entertainment - immediately, add a new family adventure ride (behind showstage has plenty of space for something 'western') and add a few behind the scenes elements - even if they were to go back to tours of movie sets - there is soon going to be a staple TV show being filmed in the studios (Humphrey) and there are plenty of films being shot in and around property these days. Universal manages to do it's backlot tours around a working film set, so MW could always fit in with that - it doesn't have to be much, just an element, a uniqueness that you don't get anywhere else. Lastly - the reason why MW used to be full day, despite having less attractions, but also with having less wait times, was that the attractions themselves took time - because Gremlins had queue, pre-show, ride, Einstein had a script, heck - even Bermuda pretended to have a preshow that absorbed crowd for several minutes - technically, you are still queueing, even though you've been absorbed into the story, but it didn't FEEL like it because it was PART of the ride\attraction itself. Having an elaborate, on theme pre-show "invents" additional capacity, without changing the ride. Take a look at the haunted mansion in Disneyland - to get you to the ACTUAL ride, they created an entire story around the stretching rooms, hallway, even the foyer. the Queue stops at the steps to the house, but it is easily between 5-10 minutes more before you ACTUALLY board the doom buggy

@Skeeta - remember that @pushbutton would prefer a walk-through attraction to the Hyper Coaster - so asking him how he downgrades fantastic 1991 to very good 2017 isn't really that hard to understand, when you realise who you're actually asking.

I wouldn't call HSD "very good" at any time in it's life. The original was at least decently put together, but lacked the crowd involvement elements. It at least had a big 'wow' factor finale, unlike the current iteration... but it was still paled by comparison to PASS. I for one would like to see them bring back a western themed stunt show - but alas, professional stuntment are far more expensive than a panelbeater.

Look, i've been quite critical of the Movie World videos, but primarily it was the story they tried to tell (in the first one) and the really bad narration in the ones that followed. But the imagery shown - showing the checks, discussing the sensors etc were far more detailed than both the Alton and DW ones. Basically to sum them up: MovieWorld: "to the -enth degree, we'll show you what's involved, for your safety Alton: "we won't put people in danger. Here's some pictures of our rides not broken down" DreamWorld: "we've been rectally examined by four different organisations. Trust us - it's safe." I'll be honest and say I prefer MW's message - i'd just prefer their delivery was better.

That's why Space Probe was so awesome - despite the countdown (when it worked) it rarely dropped on 0.

I enjoyed X2, but given the insanely stupid operations at that park, I only got to ride once, whereas I did several laps on Tatsu at various times throughout the day. X2 felt jittery - the motions between elements weren't as smooth as I would have liked given the way the "third rail" is supposed to work. I enjoyed it - i don't insist on a 'smooth' ride just because its steel (I don't get the hate for HWSW for instance), but thats my only picking point on X. I'd still prefer tatsu however.

Phantom is definitively purple. the track colour has been called lots of things, but purple isn't one of them.

Maintaining site info on two domains, rather than on one isn't really that big of a difference though. (The same information is there still, just on one domain). Most advertising and marketing already incorporated both parks anyway - so the only thing that has really changed is the brand.
