I have one family member on standard VIP, and we have two gold passes. Purchased at the same time, here is what we paid (excluding booking credit card fees) according to our invoices: Gold - Original Purchase Price - $139 Gold - Renewal - $99 VIP - Original Purchase Price - $99 VIP - Renewal - $79

I presume the Zuzu is the 3 wheel model - like most are these days... Ok, so in the end we're talking about two mid-size cars, and a 3 wheeler pram. I know MW's car spaces aren't the biggest, but I put a fullsize family wagon and a 4WD wagonback side by side in those things without an issue. I certainly understand your concern for your child (i would be too) but apart from nudging the pram, I'd say you each had a reasonable amount of room... I reiterate that staff should not travel to work in uniform, (and to be quite honest, staff should be required to park in the furthest carpark from the gate)... but as I said - until he's on the clock, he isn't really obligated to be nice to you in any way. As a matter of fact - in my experience, (and in general) motorists up here are generally huge prats.

I know you've said it numerous times Joz, I just felt categorising it and laying it all out might get read (and reconsidered in future years) by management. Maybe they could bring back early entry for the summer (and the separate gate). I don't mind that WC is being included in the new passes - they spend a lot of money on those events and they want to ensure they get enough people through the gate to justify how much they spend. If they give away the gate, but make a shitload on flashy crap, upcharges and F&B then i'm all for it - but gold was meant to be a premium product... but right now, it doesn't appear that it's any different to any of the multitude of 'slightly varied' standard VIP offerings. I paid extra to get gold in the first year, and i paid extra to renew it versus a standard pass... forgive my implied 'sense of entitlement' but they've gotten more money out of me than a standard pass holder - now I want to know what 'extra' i get for that? And before I get shot down - I realise that what i've paid is still far less than the standard annual passes that used to exist before Q150 - I get that - and considering the attractions we've seen introduced since the passes started, they can't be doing too badly financially. I just can't see what benefits there are to having gold at this point in time because they've watered down the gold perks, and given some of them to standard passholders.... can someone please tell me what it is that I get with my gold pass that I don't get with a standard VIP right now?

It is a little frustrating that: I'm a loyal customer who purchased Gold VIP in it's first year... they release the passes the next year with no options for others to upgrade to gold then they take away the perks of having gold - like your own ticket line, and early entry then they offer it as an upgrade to passholders then they give it away free if you buy a standard vip then they offer one of the few remaining 'gold' perks (that is - free entry to WC) to standard VIP holders. Seriously - it is marketed as a premium product, and you're supposed to get more for it - then we lost half of the benefits, and they gave the other half away to standard passholders. What's left that makes Gold worth having?

With regard to the corporate christmas parties, I just want to mention that a lot of the movie world corporate parties are done on weeknights. (at least the one we went to last year was). It took me a good 10 minutes of trawling through the myfun and themeparks.com.au sites before i could find anything for this years events. To be honest, considering the average price of a hotdog that isn't from a shopping centre foodcourt would be up around the $5 mark, and considering you're in a theme park where you can expect prices to be a little higher than usual, AND the fact that they have franks that are a foot long (which in most cases is about 6 inches longer than the bun is!) i don't see it being that bad. If you got a footlong hotdog with cheese and sauce for say $6.50 in a shopping centre - it'd be a bargain! So wheres the beef in an extra $1.50 in a theme park? (definitely not in the hotdog thats for sure - pig anus FTW!)

Forgive me for being sceptical, but i'm inclined to take this post with a kilogram of salt.

I personally think the standard of guests visiting the park has a lot to do with the standard of the staff working there. Not a direct attack on you Wyn - just a 'general observation' of the quality of guests we seem to have in the park these days. Most cast members in parks start out rosy, but they lose the 'gloss' over time, as it becomes just 'a job' - even Disney employees get that way in some areas circles. Unfortunately, we can't always expect those that work in the parks to have such a cheery demeanour outside the park. Another difference is - he wasn't being paid to be nice to you and follow safety procedures in the carpark - the government took away the opportunity to claim workers comp whilst travelling to and from work - so really a case of 'not his problem'. The only issue i take is that a cast member is travelling to work in uniform. Given how easily this identifies you, most parks that i know of have strict policies about employees travelling to work 'in costume'...

I'm working on a totally unrelated christmas lights display for this year too. The first string of lights went up on October 23rd, and it still isn't finished (i'm doing it outside of normal work hours). I started programming it (from scratch) about a week ago, and am still troubleshooting bugs as this kind of display hasn't been done by me before. (My thanks to those who provided some words of advice - they know who they are). Many in the area commented that they thought we'd started too early, and it's been essentially 'in test' every night for the past week. At this stage it'll probably take another 2 weeks before it is finished, by which time, it'll be time to 'go live' with it anyway. Given the scale of what i'm involved in, compared with what MW are doing - I don't blame them for having the park turned around 5 days after Hallowe'en...

I see no reason why the original actors for Han, Luke and Leia can't return. If they're willing, and if the storyline fits - why not? Hell - the guy that played Wicket came back for episode 1 (as a different character), i'm sure he'd be up for coming back again...

With regard to the 'dont touch your seatbelt' rule, there is a good reason for it, which sadly - is poor design. The seatbelt has to be inserted the right way up (ie: no twists at all). If it isn't, the harness doesn't register a lock, and it has to be undone and redone. The problem is, if it's in the wrong way, the 'harness release' on the control panel also doesn't work properly, so maintenance need to be onhand with a special key to undo the harness manually. This takes a lot longer than the '10 minute' cycle time. Unfortunately, it's easier to tell people not to touch the seatbelt, than it is to try to explain what people need to do ahead of time, and hope that a) they're listening, and they get it right. When I first rode, the ops knew I understood how to put it in the right way, and they allowed me to do so, but during general operation they get extremely angry if you do so. I've reached a compromise, and I ensure the seatbelt isn't twisted, and hold the tab right in front of the buckle. the op only has to take it from my hand and push to get it done correctly... saves time at any rate. I should hope Movie world and Kumbak are working on a different seatbelt system that either works both ways, or won't allow you to insert it the wrong way, which would solve the problem.

Well not everyone has seen Universal's Earthquake - although it is also featured in beverly hills cop 3 as 'Alien Attack'. But yes - i thought of universal. I can't see pictures posted at work - but i'm assuming the image reanimated posted as for superman?

I'm sure theres a few animatronics they could chuck in there too - even simple 'BOO!' style jack in the box ones. Even just some cobwebs and a few spiders, change the pre-show video (Gazza's proven that can be done easily enough) as well as the voiceover announcements 'tremors in the tunnel' etc. It'd take a little work, but it wouldn't be hard to overlay superman.

I thought that had already been the case? I saw it there on friday night fright nights too. Not to mention that the score increase that happens in the final scene (after the camera) was included in that score...

Personally agree with the whole 'not riding scooby' mentality - Gazza summed it up perfectly... however, in my opinion, this is a wasted opportunity - an attraction within the park that's namesake implies something hallowe'en related, and nothing is really done to try and feature this attraction for the event. I don't know that there is much that they could do - and a lot of safety and other factors to consider - but i'd like to see MW pay some special attention to Scooby for next year's Hallowe'en - the same way Disney overlays a lot of their attractions for holiday seasons...

Film Vault is in the sound stage (1 or 2) closest to the highway. Walking Dead was in the other one (which I think was '2'). Hillbilly Slasher was in the showstage and of course - Psycho was in Scooby's Queue. An interesting challenge for those drawers amongst us (such as Gazza) - can anyone do a bit of a drawing of hillbilly slasher - and how it winds through the show stage? I get the feeling that it circled around the actual stage, and then into back of house, but can't quite get the idea of where it sits through the rest of it...
