  1. That would have been my same reply. It's absolute gold that Rich liked this post though! A joke eh? That's your original post. There is no hint of anything that might suggest you were joking. Your statement is serious. There is nothing 'silly' about it - You even went on to explain the draconian behavior of your parents to explain it in later posts. "Naw, guys, c'mon, it was just a joke" isn't going to wash buddy. Own your comments.
  2. 'Definitely' ? They couldn't just have removed the signage because the film has done it's run and they're doing up new signage for the next film to arrive? I'm not saying its true, but its a bit rich to say it's 'definitely closing' simply because signage has been removed.
  3. Me on monday morning coming into Parkz after a weekend off the boards...
  4. Any suit you wear into a shower is going to be a wet suit.
  5. I can't take credit for this - i saw it elsewhere... but: FTFY
  6. I'd sooner they put JDS into the HSD arena if they wanted to build a kick ass dark ride in the LTRR stage. Lord knows HSD is shit, and JDS would be a better use of the space. It won't happen though.
  7. tunes river ride lift would propel you down a straight ramp and into a splashdown. After splashdown, you turned left passing a scene almost identical to the pre-show, showing bugs back on set. Around the bend was unload.
  8. So... Storm is open? Cool.... ....Cold...
  9. Read the above in order. JPW suggested WH&S QLD should wear blame. We were both just pointing out the reasons why that shouldn't be the case.
  10. Yeah the problem is, the sign posted on the front door was removed and replaced with COVID information, so there's even less ways to find out whats closed before you enter - especially for all those who 'refuse to use a smartphone and can't use the app' *cough* karen *cough*
  11. I don't think that's what he's arguing - just going off the back of the 'QLD Workcover is to blame too!' suggestion on the last page. We're being sarcastic about the reasons given by various staff as to how prior issues went unreported, and how current staff were either ignorant or, or ambivalent to the risks posed by the ride.
  12. well, also according to the coroners report, the current 'guy' in charge of that shit also had no knowledge of any prior incidents, because nobody told him, and there was no proper system to record them, if my memory serves...
  13. I guess the difference is, KFC will usually tell you they're out of chicken prior to payment...
  14. private certifiers sign off on the plant. WH&S QLD can't inspect every plant installation in the state and rely on third party certifiers who are supposed to have qualifications that make them fit to do so. I believe the coroner actually criticised the certifiers - apparently things were signed off on paperwork alone, and no actual inspection was done... my memory is a little rusty though, so i could be wrong about that.
  15. I'm not going to outright say you're incorrect, but my reading of the legislation is very specific that industrial manslaughter is specific to a worker: A worker is defined in the act very clearly, and would not extend to include members of the public attending the workplace, based on my reading
  16. The maximum $4.5million is the WH&S legislation penalty, not the civil suit damages. The class action is separate to that, and could exceed the penalties.
  17. I've no doubt they'd have been in communication (such as telephone, fax, email, tin cans with string, post, bull-roarer, smoke signals) with the WHS office (of the state of Queensland in the Commonwealth of Australia). One can only speculate (guess, suppose, hypothesise) as to whether this is a factor though. It could well be, if they knew the final outcome (findings, closure of investigation, charges to be laid) was due prior september (their proposed reopening deadline, due date or target) that they'd decided (concluded, resolved) it was easier to take the hit prior to opening (commencing trade, relaunching) - and the ASX release (statement, presser, response) was very quickly available (distributed, circulated), so they at least had some heads-up (warning, alert) about it. But whether that influenced their decision (conclusion, resolution) to remain closed (shut, non-operational, cease of trade) for now is anyone's guess (supposition, speculation, hypothesis)...
  18. I think that's a reasonable view given what i've heard. Guest reaction is mixed at best.
  19. That would require cooperation from the government given zoning and what not. They may not wish to lose the tourism drawcard. Unlike Wonderland, which was a standalone park in the middle of a swath of industrial and rural land available for expansion, Dreamworld is fairly closely surrounded by commercial operation and housing, but its the northern tourism anchor for the gold coast, which a lot of businesses rely on. If there were no other choice, sure - but if another park operator \ investor wanted to continue to operate the park in some form, I'm fairly confident the government would be favourable to that.
  20. "kids these days".... says the kid.
  21. Definitely not subterfuge - we don’t have any evidence of them doing that...
  22. The images I saw today of the front gates, with the “attractions not operating today” signs covered over with plain white boards is at odds with that.
