  1. More of a retracking, isn't it? yeah you got me there. I don't really consider it 'new' since it was replaced with an identical thing.
  2. Yeah I get that, but multifunctional pillarless space sounds too intense for me. It isn't something that should form part of ocean parade's attraction lineup. List it separately, like toilets or smoking areas. Don't make it an attraction when it isn't even open. Better than Bribe Alley.
  3. You want to know exactly? I think, if the maintenance team at MW, or Vekoma, could figure out exactly what was wrong with it, they'd have probably fixed it (or demolished it) by now. My guess is they've been trying to figure it out for months. And if they can't figure it out, it'll close... which is looking more likely.
  4. I think you mean 'gentle'. White is typically an undercoat \ prep coat. I doubt it's staying that colour, so most likely we're seeing them retouch the main street facades - hopefully into more traditional colours, rather than the garish technicolour vomit we've been used to.
  5. That's where Dreamworld meets with their construction contractors and ride suppliers to exchange... pleasantries. Also - kudos for Dreamworld making the convention centre a permanently listed park map attraction within ocean parade. Gotta make it look like we haven't just closed half the park!
  6. Aqualoop is translucent. Painting it would likely make the inside a similar experience to black hole. Constrictor is the newest slide in the park. If it needs some attention, then everything does.
  7. Colourbond fencing in the background. gimp mask bondage... sounds like dreamworld.
  8. Given the panned reception Storm Coaster got - would something like this have fitted in the SW Show Building? It seems to me the perfect fit for Sea World - kind of Sub voyage pre-Nemo Subs? (Atlantis themeing and all! haha)
  9. having a separate ride name for the spinning car? sounds a bit ridiculous. its the same coaster, just a different seat. no doubt stick both on the attraction list as separate attractions too? don't be ridiculous. Honestly, while the australiana theme is preferred, having a snake themed coaster with a 'special' "tail" probably lends itself well to "the rattlesnake". Just tape a playing card to the underside of the car so it makes a motorbike noise when it spins, and you're done!
  10. Welcome TheChad (it was great). The problem with wordplay puns, is when it's written without hyphens or other grammatical cues to point it out to you, it gets lost. Most people think that's just how you spell Pandamonium, for example - so the hyphen helps people get the joke. But it is, as you say, tacky - so you either make it tacky, so people get it, or the joke goes over their head. Both opened in 1995, and as Jobe pointed out, Big Dipper was SBNO for almost 20% of it's life, so the age difference is negligible, but the wear and usage for each would be very different.
  11. Well they need to name two coasters... as alluded to in the article, perhaps they’re just trademarking anything that seems a possibility until they find something better, lest it be pulled from under their feet...
  12. ermm... @Slick I think that was just referencing you being the billboard guy, rather than anything SW \ DW connected... i think the fountain is a bit harsh...
  13. It's a bit difficult to ride a full circuit...
  14. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paternoster
  15. well.... it was at one point an attraction of interest... even if it wasn't immediately before closure...
  16. I think it’s better to compare 1994 sea world with 1987 Dreamworld and 1997 Movieworld. you don’t wanna know what month though...
  17. Alright... who’s up for a speed run?
  18. Last update we had on the billboard, which was literally a week ago, says “coming soon”. had that been updated so quickly?
  19. We got a replacement for Wipeout. It was the much needed un-shaded shaded seating area. Cant quote members because they aren’t. take a trip through the various social media he’s and groups and check what Joe & Karen Public are saying... if you can get past some of the screeching that is.
