  1. You need to get yourself a girlfriend. From the park that brought you "Aerial Path Maze: The Ride" comes "Ground Level Path Maze: The Ride (Next Generation)"
  2. If I had that as my other personality, this personality would shoot myself.
  3. Fountained this as I fail to see any part that is unfinished.
  4. I think the exit point (north side) is lower to shelter from the sun - since the sun is always on the north side - pretty certain the south end is a bit higher up. I did see that pic (pretty certain its in the parkz database for the monorail) but as it's not near the end, I discarded it. Ok, a little more digging, and here's a good 'drive through' video for the plaza roof. With this video, it actually looks like the entry and exit points aren't the lowest clearance it has - some of the middle ribs seem closer. It could, of course, be an optical illusion because of the angle - but here's another viewpoint: https://youtu.be/emthJyrAkCw
  5. Or, if you'd quoted just one more line of my reply, suggesting converting the monorail to a mobile spa, you might've noticed something. Might want to get yours checked out too buddy! As Brad mentioned above, the clearance at the plaza seems to be quite tight. I can't seem to find a single picture of the monorail going through there, but I swear i've seen one. As I mentioned, the plaza is the only tight clearance on the course, as far as i'm aware. ETA: This is the best I can find. (Thanks @Slick) The angle, and lighting, makes it hard to confirm, but it's not unreasonable for someone to view this clearance from the ground as being tight, and hardly worth ridicule. An average roof mounted air con unit suitable for the size of the monorail cars is between 250-300mm I look forward to someone visiting in the coming weeks and snapping a shot of the monorail exiting the plaza - perhaps shot from the Ray Reef for a better angle. E-ETA - idiot. monorail won't be running. damn. more archive searching.
  6. a bandaid solution that opens itself up to easy vandalism - far more than an AC vent...
  7. Splendid idea! Welcome to the gold coast - where in warmer months, from October to March (you know, when its hot and you want the monorail air conditioned) it rains basically 1 in every 3 days, and we have tropical storms that break suddenly. Although - put watertight seals on the doors and you've got next year's big water attraction... mobile spas! the maintenance bay track is about as low as you're going to get - and remember the Storm coaster construction, and all the issues they had with water tables and such - the table on the spit is pretty shallow, so digging isn't really an option. Cutting holes in the roof isn't really an option when what you're cutting would be structural - I can't find a pic right now, but i'm pretty certain the clearance under the new plaza rooftop is pretty tight at points. The rest of the course wouldn't be much of a problem at all. I feel like the best solution would be to take one of the windows closer to the centre, and replace it with a slimline window mounted type unit, that protrudes minimally from the exterior, and also takes up a small amount of interior space. The biggest issue with airconditioning the monorail is likely going to be power requirements, but they could potentially supplement these systems with solar?
  8. A spade is a spade. *waves flag* go theme parks.
  9. The intriguing thing for me is - who chose the pictures? Dreamworld's media centre has picture request links underneath their releases - did they choose to supply the singular tasmanian devil image as the best one to use? it is quite the hero animal, isn't it? Meanwhile, this is what Ausleisure chose to lead with: https://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/dreamworld-kicks-off-38th-anniversary-celebrations/
  10. I was going to buy a 'biggest' pass, but I couldn't fit the giant flag into my wallet, and I don't own a helicopter.
  11. ...But that could bankrupt them... #ohwait.
  12. The Ronald McDonald learning program is a great program aimed at helping kids affected by illnesses 'catch up' on the learning they've missed by not being able to go to school. its a great cause. ...but its still run by a fucking clown. Also in the news, the GC Titans change every player number to '9'. ...because now every player is a rake.
  13. I won't critique the suit - a park executive should be dressed appropriately, especially when fronting the media. The glasses I will agree with - when you're spruiking a sincere message, you need to let people see your eyes. Too many similarities with Salim Mehajer, too insincere.
  14. I guess its no secret by now that someone here works for Dreamworld. (And the Magician's post, and recent SkyVoyager video update discussions kind of makes that clear, so this isn't an attempt at doxxing), but it just made me laugh about how 'pro VRTP' Parkz was accused to be just a few years ago, and now the positive news stories and other discussions just amuses me... As for Ocean Parade, before Dreamworld builds anything else in OP, they need to balance the park out with attractions a little more spread out, and fix up some of the mess, and hodge podge that exists both in OP and elsewhere. OP needs a better anchor attraction than HWSW, but i'm not necessarily calling for removal of HWSW either. Its really hard to say what DW needs as there's a lot of mismanagement, empty holes left from previously removed rides that haven't been adequately filled, and a lot of rides poorly placed that are not financially viable to relocate to fix the problem, meaning DW is stuck with that placement for quite some time.
  15. *Article takes stab at VRTP by prominently displaying the Tas Devils, downplaying the arrivals at Paradise Country.
  16. There are alternatives to roof mounted AC units though. Although I doubt the power supply on the track would handle the additional load.
  17. So, the park became more wet, and more wild, and they closed it? what a business model. Whilst the activists are ridiculous, their claims off base, and their methods inappropriate, and whilst the management of the park should absolutely stand up for the park and call the activists for what they are, the guy himself is, still a clown.
  18. Sorely missed cross-promotion activity with Taz.
  19. open later. offer a twilight ticket price offer special dinner menu options put on extra entertainment It doesn't have to be halloween or christmas special events to trade later - overseas parks manage it all the time. Wonderland's summer $5 after 5pm, while the ticket price needs adjustment, worked really well and brought in a whole new 'finished school \ work' crowd to enjoy the park in the cool of the afternoon\evening. I agree Joz, its frustrating they don't seem to grasp the concept - although I suppose WnW's return of the movies is a step in the right direction.
  20. Technically the whole park is a shaded seating area today.
  21. Thanks mate! Appreciate it!
  22. Was going to ask if this was it, but then Jdude said it was on the actual theatre pad... nevermind. Nearmap hasn't been updated for dreamworld since the start of November. There's shade?
  23. Next episode has rise of the resistance spoilers, for anyone who doesn't want to see that. It'll also be the last episode  - i'd like to see them make more detailed docos on specific attractions. They would have a buttload of BTS footage...
  24. there couldn't be a more appropriate name for a tornado funnel in brazil.
  25. Yeah mate you got it, and the L was a typo. Sorry - acronyms are a hard habit to break sometimes.
