  1. Dreamworld did it in June this year Wet N Wild Sydney did it in February this year I can't seem to locate any info for the VRTP parks.
  2. That is only for the active member of the service though, not a further 3 passes to bring family members along for a fun day out... Australia Zoo has free admission for ESVLs all year round. oh, and apparently for some reason, correctional officers are included in that Village list. Every year they do it, another industry stamps their foot that they aren't included, and the list gets bigger. Teachers, Doctors, Nurses and Carers never used to be in it either... it was literally emergency services.
  3. Is THAT where you find this stuff? Wow. And all this time, i've been trawling the Parkz forums waiting for someone to upload the latest maintenance dates in a screenshot... this is going to save me literal seconds!
  4. to be fair, I edited that in about 1 minute before he posted it. my original post was only the quote and government link.
  5. https://www.miragenews.com/ban-on-development-over-three-storeys-along-spit/ The article is based on a Queensland government public release you can find here. My reading of this is that Sea World's rides are unaffected (thanks clickbait) as outdoor ride structures like coasters and observation wheels \ towers are permitted to be built, but they can't build a four storey high dark ride show building, etc.
  6. I wonder how long before an enterprising entrepreneur creates a fake pass with all of that info, and a different picture, and tries to enter the park with it....
  7. They're palm trees. How much shade do giant palm trees give? (Hint - here's white water world) No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No.
  8. I have to say, the area looks really nice, but how many people will it actually accommodate? I can see 20 or so deck chairs, a couple of hammocks and i assume some picnic style table seats will probably go in some of the covered areas... Wipeout would probably have cycled the same number of people in one ride cycle as will fit here, but the seating and such will make them linger longer. I do hope they have a plan to maintain the deck chairs and hammocks and other soft furnishings, and it isn't replaced with cheap plastic stacking chairs (like outside Flowrider). I'm not a big dreamworld fan, and I do find myself being very critical - I want to love this little space they've done (even though I don't agree with the usage - it should have gotten a new flat) - but with Aussie parks, i'm always looking at how something will stand the test of time, because all of our parks have shown that the new flashy ride gets the love and the old stuff gets neglected...
  9. Oooooh.... I see a snowball... it's here... next to my desk...
  10. I tell you what'd be better - a view of the top platform to understand how the queue will work...
  11. I guess we're just going to have to wait until the photos are rendered into a video, watermarked and then uploaded to youtube, and then screenshotted to be posted here.
  12. Didn't it come from the same park that Mach 5 came from, somewhere in south america? Yep, just checked the wiki -
  13. That's actually really interesting, and completely makes sense. Its just a shame it looks 'dirty'
  14. Do you mean Pumps? I realise they were going for a 'beach' splashdown area, but I never really noticed the pool was a sandy colour, and always just thought it looked dirty... like the pebblecrete pool for whitewater mountain. I wish they'd stick with a nice clean blue.
  15. *Disney finally builds third gate in california*
  16. This year, YES, the gazetted public holiday IS on the monday, which is why it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't take advantage of the extra weekend day, end of the holidays, day after the last three days they ran, to put on one more last show, on Australia Day... ?
  17. You mean the one sunday where its a public holiday monday, and therefore the usual reason for not doing things on a sunday (ie: everyone avoids because they have work\school the next day) doesn't exist? I mean - thats the one time you DO do something on a sunday.
  18. They are slightly different tones from the original POV that was released a while ago, so my money is on this being the final colour scheme... and in the spirit of the great coaster colour debate, i'm going to start and say "tangerine" now to figure out the theme...
  19. ...Couldn't afford to pay the entertainment public holiday rates? is that it? Why would you not run this sort of special event on Australia day, when you've run it on the 3 days prior? End the event with a big bang finale on Australia day... sounds like a no-brainer
  20. Disneyland 1996. Indiana Jones had recently opened, and still had bollards down through the hub for the queue, but it wasn't that long on the day we visited.
  21. Yeah - was going to say - it's jarring that the "pass" image has been cut off mid-way, so i'd suggest a 'cutout' with the rest of the card will be installed above it.
  22. I thought the same when I saw them...
