I assume you were looking at the same DW maintenance page I was - which lists attractions even if there is no maintenance scheduled (such as CoW), so I assume you don't count CoW and Wiggle Bay? Clearly they did their best to avoid the school holiday periods, hence why most things are open over that period (except the RIP and the BRO), and its still damn cold that i can't see too many people being upset. If they don't get it done by November, it'll be almost another 5 months before they can continue while they ride the warm summer weather.

it seems like such a shame. that ampitheatre was well equipped for shows. and instead they set up portable stages next to the claw and jam up main street. I guess with the old brock's garage its a much better multipurpose space, whereas the ampitheatre, with the sloped seating is really only suitable for stage shows - much like the Showstage at MW. So much wasted space with that seating area walled off.

^Yeah, look.... "citation needed" - but there's a reason Disney always exits you through a gift shop, and that's also the reason why many of our parks have shops at exits. Its a proven formula. Low attendance and low revenues put pressure on department heads to cut costs, and saving on staffing by having less shops open is a no-brainer - but that doesn't mean those shops don't make money when they're open. As for superman, it was always a stupid idea to exit through a gift shop when you don't permit loose articles... unless you come back through the locker room first. stupid design decried from day one.

I think the cowboy attitude of the 1980's is well and truly behind us. I very much doubt they'd be permitted to do anything that destructive to the forest, and its a low capacity attraction that doesn't fit the Scenic World model these days.

...or the park noticed some people were aligning the maintenance dates with school holidays and clueing on to what they were doing, and they thought better of it *wishful thinking* ...And Enthusiasts will too.

It's hit and miss, and really hard to predict. The coast is packed for the race, and obviously transport around downtown surfers gets a little iffy because of it. Coomera should be quiet and provided you're not staying near the track, you shouldn't have much problem - as for attendance, the race format has two 300km races (there was some talk last year of making it a single 500km race on sunday but it wasn't a popular idea) so the race fans are probably going to watch both days if they aren't local. For my money i'd suggest it'd be a pretty normal October weekend attendance - you won't notice much up or down on regular numbers - you might lose a few petrolhead locals, but you also might get the 'rest of the family not interested in motorsport' going to a park to replace them... If you're concerned about the crowds, and you don't get to visit often, but want to make sure you ride everything - budget for a RideExpress pass, but don't pre-book it. If you get to the park and its busier than you thought, go and get the Ride Express pass.

This was quite some time ago, and judging by the fact that they haven't been shut down, I would suggest Dreamworld has fully complied with the provisional improvement notice.

I do kinda feel like you've misunderstood his intention because you read the first sentence, and didn't continue, but looking at it again: Followed by: You focussed on his initial statement without the rest of his post. I read it i think the way he intended, and i understood what he meant just fine. To reword it - "at first, it gives the impression they've got great queues and not much else, but then came...." Anyway - you've given him a hard time for explaining things poorly, which he does at times, which is probably why we all give him such a hard time, but in this case i don't think he is to blame for the misunderstanding...
