  1. Don't you mean, switch it off? Here's a UOPPT Update, brought to you by Energex.
  2. In a move sure to spark the local movement into overdrive once again, the Government of Canada has passed bill S203 - the 'Free Willy' bill. This makes it illegal to keep a cetacean captive, except for rescue or rehabilitation purposes. Existing animals in captivity are exempt. https://www.news.com.au/travel/world-travel/north-america/free-willy-bill-bans-dolphin-and-whale-captivity-in-canada/news-story/a1a985c2ae6827b68a03a3631d3414dc I do love PETA's comments at the bottom saying 'SeaWorld; you're next #emptythetanks' - this law wouldn't impact the current animals, and the US parks have already said they will cease their breeding programs, so its just a matter of time. No doubt the morons at Justice for Captives will read only the headlines, and initiate another set of protests at the park. Hopefully the new biosecurity arrangements at the park will see them hit harder for any disruptions.
  3. Seems this conversation has blown a breaker.
  4. its a nice positive thought, but it's June. They've got 6 months to plan. You'd bust a gut not to shut down attractions in the middle of the peak season. If it were for positive construction (like a ride) we'd know about it (hopefully) by now. If its non-essential works, surely you'd aim to do it somewhere in the next 5 months, or hold off until february?
  5. since the folded WWW to be a 'land' of dreamworld, i don't think one can technically class that as a true statement. Likewise they also have the flowrider. plenty of things for people to do to cool off, and if they haven't brought their swimwear, they can always buy extremely overpriced branded surfwear from the shop!
  6. You should all be ashamed of your conduct. Can't you find a more creative outlet?
  7. For those playing along at home (or wanting to be original), here's the "Unofficial Official Parkz Pun Tracker" (UOPPT)
  8. ok, but don't you think that's old news?
  9. Watt on earth is with all this negative attitude. Generate some new spark of conversation.
  10. If I were a board member - probably. As a punter - i don't really get a choice. I'll wait for results. Don't get me wrong - the appointment of Greg to the park has promising written all over it, and there's been a few small things both on and off the radar that indicate a turnaround - but at this stage, until concrete results start to appear (such as opening Sky Voyager, or announcements the likes of what Sea World just has), i remain to be convinced.
  11. Not a bad suggestion, and the out and back model could potentially fit into the ToT space if it were to be removed. However the 35 metre height means it's smaller than even superman, and while it ticks a lot of boxes, it isn't "different" enough for it to be something big - it could only be another filler, which dreamworld already have too many of. Given it starts at a 130cm height requirement, it's quite limiting too.
  12. also a bold statement, given the track record.
  13. Probably a PEBKAC issue by the sounds.
  14. It's hard to burn something down standing outside it in a carpark.
  15. I certainly agree with you that they need to do something bold. What I meant was that your statement that you are "sure" that they " know what they want to do and how they can execute it. " is bold. Their track record doesn't give me enough confidence to be sure that they know anything.
  16. https://www.zamperla.com/products/taga-j/
  17. You sure it isn't a 'hitting submit topic twice without waiting' issue?
  18. first thing that came to mind was blackfish. lol.
  19. There was quite a buzz at the park afterwards. A real positive step. Really amped up the crowds.
  20. Don't you make the video though? so couldn't you screenshot things before you plastered logos all over it? I mean - if you're sorry its there, its not like it's hard to remove, is it? thanks for the update though. good to see whats happening down there now i'm not visiting. cheers.
  21. @Richard - code error in the article links Should rode be ride? good to have confirmation of which layout is correct. interesting that they can't get their stats right... maybe they're factoring transfer tracks or maintenance bays into the track lengths?
  22. by equipment i meant the personal hardware, not the anchor system.
  23. I guess it would depend on where the construction works are. Clearly they're leaving the monorail to go through so I would think that only construction that is near the rail, or otherwise affects the construction envelope. @Naazon raises a good point that it'd be great for photos. Village have come out of the blocks running with announcements, artists impressions and scale models, so they're being very open about the construction - it might actually be pretty cool for them to operate the monorail wherever construction allows it, to give people a sneak peak...
