Or you know what? you've just bought the most expensive ride in the park's history - don't cheap out. Buy two trains. Commit to run both of them every day. have one completely forwards, one completely backwards, and save money by not needing four queues - you can just have two. I kinda feel like theres some long-distance-train-seat technology that could be used here - have each seating row about to pivot to face backwards or something. I get the 'working within existing technology' thing, and its complete pipe dream, i know. i know its unrealistic. I'm just so very disappointed that based on the park's track record, it will probably be several years before the queue for the back row is short enough for me to be able to ride it.

Well see that depends - if they'd thought about it before it went vertical, they could have hard everything fitted to the track, plugs at each end. Obviously after its up, fitting is a tougher job. So costs could vary, and yes it'd obviously cost easily double factoring labour - I wasn't ignoring that part, it just wasn't relevant considering the previous posts only talked about light costs.

I don't know anything more than whats posted here, but i kind of get the feeling that the price includes the food.. just something about 'international food stations' as opposed to 'food stalls'

@Levithian - i'm sure you know more than me, but my thoughts regarding the harnesses are because maintenance personnel wouldn't only be remaining on the stairway - they may be required to step off the stairway onto live track \ service platforms etc to inspect parts of the lift? So therefore having fall arrest \ travel restraint \ similar systems is directly as a result of that?

Now to sit back and wait for @djrappa to pick it all apart - as I know he's probably got a better idea.

with a limited number of passes available I hope? I can see it now - they sell 4000 of them to a demographic that is able to visit everyday. based on the capacity of the ride - very unhappy customers. lol. For the first busy period, a premium upcharge would only piss people off further, but i can't disagree too strongly with your reasons. Either way, I agree - they will need to manage the demand VERY carefully.

I know its a money spinner, but i'd be incredibly happy for MW to leave DCRHC off their fast pass program at least for the first 6 months... in fairness to all, its clearly going to be popular - why inflate the queue even further with someone riding it back to back all day?

they could very well have been white lights, and the colour of the track is what you saw it could be purple. I like that they're planning lighting, but I would have loved to have seen LED strip run the length of the track - REALLY make it pop at night. Either way, i'm glad to see they haven't blown their wad entirely on the coaster and have something left over to make it look nice - hopefully that extends to landscaping and perhaps even some themed elements along the ride course. it's not fuschia.

Mickey Mouse may not have had a feature film for a few decades, but he's still on 40 thousand times a day between Disney channel and Disney Junior. (I have a toddler. thats all the proof of that that you need). Mickey is still as popular today without having feature films to go along with. Disney may still have attractions in their parks that are from the 50's (and build clones of them in newer parks too) but they constantly update them. For a long time, the Auctioneer in Pirates of the Caribbean was used as a tester for new animatronic technology - and was (is?) always the most advanced animatronic Disney have ever created. Small world - despite its simplistic nature, is also constantly updated with new technology. In addition to the nostalgic oldies, Disney are also constantly building blockbuster attractions. One can hardly argue it is the nostalgia alone (it plays a part) but the constant new \ changing aspects are also a huge factor. #justsayin They need something BIG. I don't particularly care what it is (so long as it isn't a cheaper version of something MW have) but it needs to be a big drawcard. Relying on nostalgia, bringing back old attractions or retheming current ones isn't enough to get them beyond the next 18 months.

I agree, they COULD, but WOULD they? Or would they build a 2-bit version of it that would have every hallmark of the two aforementioned? I take your point, but i don't think Dreamworld could execute it to the standard you're suggesting - which they'd need to in order to avoid the comparison. Anything with water and mechanics involved would be a risk, and something I would think the park would avoid for a long time, but i can appreciate your point of view.

TBH, I think DW will avoid anything in that vein for a long time. For one, its not too dissimilar to Rocky Hollow (we know it is, but to the public, it's rocky hollow with bigger boats) and its similar enough to TRRR that, IMO, it would be classed as 'ten foot pole' material.

Disneyland has changed immensely since opening though. The park didn't have a single coaster when it opened. The flip side is that Disney's "family" attractions are enjoyable whether or not you have the nostalgia factor. Eureka without the nostalgia would just be a painful, cramped ride comparable to any carnival ghost train. Rocky Hollow isn't anything special either. If it were Splash Mountain quality - sure. Popularity away! But it isn't. There is no charm to Rocky hollow. I think to point to Disney as a reason why the 'experience' path will work for Dreamworld is quite foolish.
