Doomsday Destroyer - 2016 Movie World construction
Brad - do try to keep up. The original question was who did the theming. I said I believe VRTP did it internally, and I think they did a great job because they've done everything that we as enthusiasts like to see done. He then wondered whether that person might be an enthusiast themselves. I then denied any knowledge of what he was talking about. #WelcomeBack

Make it go over the driving range. Program the range computers to tell golfers to target the train. Hit the train for a free bucket of balls. Get hit and get free ambulance ride. It's #WinWin

From what I understand, the theming had heavy involvement from within WVTP itself. I am extremely impressed with the design, and know that that person (or persons) are feeling very proud of what has come out of this project. It's like they knew exactly what us enthusiasts like to see, and then did all of it. Awesome facades, blending backgrounds and matte painting, interactive elements throughout the area, and one solidly themed ride. OOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!! SHINIES! This is looking REALLY good. Thanks @Theme Park Girl for the awesome photos. Its great to have you back! Let's see how many people love your post by the end of the day!!!

See I think with Claw, whilst its a solid ride, the double action is what makes it hard to ride repeatedly - the swinging as well as the spinning is what affects your inner ear more. I know plenty of kids would re-ride claw over and over, but as you get older, it's less enjoyable. DD on the other hand only moves you in one direction. Just like Bounty's Revenge, i'd be happy riding this repeatedly and for me that makes the thrills better than what you find on claw.

2016 for Movie World
I'm sure if they put a few pokestops in there (or whatever they are) nobody will even notice how far it is.

And I doubt you're going to have Arnold Palmer doing drives at full stick either - half the game here is that the system challenges you to try and hit a specific target within the range, rather than just belting it for distance.

Sea World updates 2016
I do hope they jazz it up a bit - it looks much lower than MW - so it will be eyeline - i hope its more than a big white expanse - a nice simple light package (outside and in) would look great for night events too.

I don't think Intamin is on the money. I think we're going to see something a little different this time around.

The Off Topic Topic
^ a similar but i think much smaller version @reanimated35 I trust they're shipping it (not flying it) to Aus? nobody is going to fly a beast like that (no pun intended) - if they're still commissioning it, I doubt they have time to ship it to Brisbane. A little googling suggests it would take 43 days by sea freight.

2016 for Movie World
^Absolutely - all the applications are submitted under the one lot these days so searching for movie world applications are going to show anything that exists within the oxenford lot.

Tiger Island Refurbishment - Dreamworld 2016
they have probably had some people take phones on the ride to see if there are any out there.

Playing Pokemon? Still 'gay' by today's standards - its just more acceptable to be gay now I guess...

I've done search trials with Boeing on drones they were pushing to be used for search and rescue. Line of sight is not always maintained in these situations, but their technology is a lot more robust. these things can return and land on a designated spot - even if that spot is on the back of a truck, and the trucks is moving - they have geolocation, and if they lose control signal or run low on battery, it automatically returns to its landing pad before it runs out of juice.

There's a number of restrictions relating to drones, and working in emergency services we've been thoroughly briefed on their use. There was a recent incident where some numpty flew his drone up into airspace allocated to the Westpac Lifesaver 1 rescue helicopter (link) and pretty much all the points raised above are valid. there is of course a difference between toy RC drones which don't work outside range of the remote (give or take 10-30 metres) and the more serious drones that cost a pretty penny - however as far as CASA is concerned the rules apply to all UAVs regardless - they just aren't interested in pursuing hobbyists. certain emergency agencies are exempted from certain CASA rules provided they follow a very strict criteria. My comments were of course tongue in cheek. And yes - MW does have a helipad, albeit rarely used it is marked on Nav charts used by rotary aircraft as an 'alternate' emergency landing site.

^I think he meant the green fencing - previously it allowed a passage to WWF - which for obvious reasons isn't needed right now. @themagician - now that the ride is clearly able to operate, the construction will change gears now putting up more of the facilities, facade, and other features of the new area. This will go right up to the boundary, so pushing the fencing out a little lets them address those areas without working against a fence.

horror is by definition intense fear. extreme is redundant. Horror is horror. Scooby Doo is most certainly not. The film is G rated for god's sake, and the coaster is themed perfectly to the film.

Nearmap is still solid with 13 May dates. nothing new from the air. Who has a drone with a camera?
