  1. Muke and I also got stuck on this ride for about 90 minutes. As we entered the room where you start going backwards thelights all went off. We went backwards very slowly and ended up vallying not too far afterwards. The attendants were great and kept us entertained showing us how the ride used to be King Kong and how parts of King Kong were still up in the roof.
  2. I've ridden the old Space Mountain at Euro Disney and I think it rocked. I've looked all over the net looking for a track blueprint. Dude where did you get it from?
  3. Woohoo!! I get to ride it next year yay!!
  4. Yeah some of Ports accomodation is pretty dodgy. My dad owns the Marina Holiday park on settlement point and he does really well because they offer some decent accomodation at a reasonable price.
  5. I happen to know a few people on the Port Macquarie council and I do know that there is land currently set aside for a new "Theme Park" which is to replace the loss of Fantasy Glades and Peppermint Park to appartment developers. The local council wants to help boost its local tourism industry after massive blows of recent times. Just from driving along the beachside raod its amazing to see the number of hotels that have suddenly dissapeared to make way for appartments. Port macquarie is loosing its local accomodation. The Sheridan on the town green recently pulled out and i'm not sure whose running the hotel now but Sheridan just couldn't draw in the tourists. In recent years Port has become something of a nothing town for tourism. The coucil is offering local support for a new "theme park"
  6. Europe Was awesome. I got back on the 10th of October but i've just been heaps busy with loads of work. For anyone going over there I definately recommend Parc Asterix as a must do. It may not have the biggest and best coasters but it was a really awesome park with excellent themeing and atmosphere.
  7. Yeah they were running either 4 or 6 trains(Im sure it was 4) they were really pumping the people through it
  8. Just thought i'd pop a little message on here about my recent European trip. 30mins after touching down in Paris I was walking through the gates at Parc Asterix. The big steel coaster (Goudrix?) was really awesome but a bit rough and in desparte need of a good clean The Bobsled coaster was definately very interesting to go on as well and the G's it pushed whilst going round the helix's absolutely ROCKED. But the best coaster of the day was definately their woody. I've only ever ridden the Wonderland woodies and this woody made the Bush Beast look tame. Heaps of speed and great air time. Definately worth the 30 min wait. Of all the theme parks that i've visited this was definately the best when it came to ride op's. The bobsled coaster was running 4 trains and had one leaving the station every 1.30min all the other rides were dispatching just as fast if not quicker.
  9. Sorry for the delay in replying I just got back from Europe. As for the photos i'll have to look for them and i'll repost them at some stage
  10. Just to point out Nighty you're not even at college yet so you're not busy yet. You've got a lot more free time than most people on these forums but for some reason we still manage to stay in touch with whats going on. Just grow up (Sorry to everyone to go off topic but this really bugs me to death when people complain that they're busy when they obviously aren't. This especiall goes for little punks!! Try my life for just 1 week and then come back and say if you're lifes busy, I work 4 jobs and attend uni full time)
  11. Well I'll add my 2 cents worth of info in here. As a tourism student I just spent 6 months studying the Gold Coast and as Joz and Richard have said the Gold Coast was a nothing little dot of a town. The land isnt all that good but the beaches and weather are what drew people to Queensland. At the beginning of last century the QLD goverment decided that the tourism industry was the way to go (remember this is the BIGGEST industry in the world) and began developing and aiding entreprenuers (That ain't spelt right) with funding thus the Gold Coast was born. It's been a tourist destination way before the parks were there.
  12. I finally saw the TV ad for the Claw this morning at like midnight but then again I am in Canberra
  13. My count is 14 but i'll add around another 6 in September and hopefully Muke and I will go to the US in 2006ish maybe.....
  14. I liked Euro Disney their 3 coasters were pretty cool (especially Space Mountain) I think it's well worth the trip. When I got to France this year I'm going to Parc Asterix instead.
  15. I think the best thing to remember about the Bounty was the Bounty Girl from the TT day out DJRappa knows what I mean
  16. Ive been on the demon when the cable has snapped half way up the hill and we finished resting on the boomerang! That was pretty funny now that I remember it.
  17. The main pic in that article was actually taken towards the end of construction. I remember seeing it on screamscape whilst watching it being built.
  18. Yeah you have to enrol in Tourism management, then like medicine in your last year you can specify your degree towards Theme Park management. For example my course is a bachelor of business in Hotel management. You just have to do extra specific courses to gain a specific field of training
  19. I'm studying tourism at UC. My advice would be to look into doing a bachelor in Tourism management (Theme Parks) it's about a 3 year degree.
  20. "That would look really good on my coffee table" You could always buy the model then add to it don't forget.
  21. Just looking at the bottom site you listed it's really cool the pics that they have of the floor plans and then a pic of the coaster. It will definately make designing them in rct a lot easier
  22. just a question do you mean Wonderland? Whats Woderland?
  23. I was really lloking forward to doing an internship with Cedar point in 2007 but they ONLY take uni students. That is you must be currently studying and I wanna do it the year after I finish. So i'm off to Alton Towers instead then i'm going to do an American coaster tour from east to west (since i'd be coming from London). I plan to do Cedar Point (like duh), SFGAmerica, Busch Gardens, Dorney, PKI, PGA, IOA, Universal Studios, Disneyland, SFMM, Knotts, Vegas and whatever else takes my fancy by then.
  24. That weird tracksuit dude sat next to me on Space prob for the first ride we had on it (That was with you dj wasn't it?) He was weird he just started this random conversation. Scream I was the dude in the black wet tshirt.
  25. I think if you're going to place a coaster up near the log ride that a nice woodie would go well. Now that Wonderland is closing we won't have many left(Luna parks senic rail and thats about it.)
