To be honest Dreamworld should use their own IP to get people in the gate and not have to build a ride around a movie/franchise outside of kids areas. We have AVPX and a V8 ride stuck in the middle of Ocean Parade. You tell me movie and other licensed IP works well in an area full of generic names attractions (Claw, Wipeout, Cyclone, Reef Diver). People constantly complain about DC rides taking over movie world then suggest something that will have the same effect at Dreamworld. Seriously, what the fuck!?!?!?!?

MW review 21/06/2012 including street performance times
pin142 replied to MaxxTheMonster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Did they meet your hand by greeting their face with a visit from it? From what I can tell they are like the Kardishaians, "famous" for no reason at all. Oh well they best make the most of it as in a few months they will be has beens. -
What should MW and DW's next roller coasters be?
pin142 replied to POP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It wouldn't blow the budget however it is designed for smaller parks like Aussie World and not a park like Movie World or Dreamworld where high capacity rides are required. -
Wet n Wild sued for traumatic Aqualoop ride
pin142 replied to westical's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don't know what is more concerning, the fact she is suing or the fact that other people trust her to look after their kids. I know I wouldn't want my kids around an idiot like this. -
Two of the most stupidest things the park could do now. They are needing something to stand out from the competition down the road and attract guests. Installing a ride that will have massive downtime (you are lieing if you say otherwise) and bolting on a few metres of track to a drop ride are a complete waste of money. For the pricing of a KK clone and tacking onto the drop you could build one of these Wingriders that almost every US and Europe major chain is buying/has purchased. There is so much that can be done for the cost of these two things. Cut 5-10 million out of the amount and you are still able to get one hell of a "full size" wooden coaster. Their next attraction needs to be well thought out and built within a reasonable timeframe. So what if it is done a month or two early. Better than it not being complete when opening like recent additions/changeovers. Dreamworks and Buzzsaw show they still care about themeing it is a matter of them choosing rides that have lasting appeal and have people running back onto to compliment the effort put into it. If they do put the effort into themeing and storyline make sure people are aware of it without having to visit a website or read a large amount of text posted on a sign.

Movie World new ride: JUSTICE LEAGUE: Alien Invasion 3D.
pin142 replied to mba2012's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If Dreamworld want a new thrill ride then maybe they should build a proper roller coaster and not just a giant circle. They need to pull out a decent wooden coaster or something like X-flight to even have a chance at remotely competing with Movie Worlds stable of thrill rides when it comes to coasters. This spring addition will be interesting to follow in the coming months especially with what the park releases as the attraction progresses. Cannot see this being a traditional construction watch by sites with almost all of the work happening indoors. Does anyone think they will do a complete wrap of the visible walls or will it be like Batman The Ride in the only part with major attention focused is the entrance.- 778 replies

They both look fun. Will say either of those built in one of the parks here would get me back more often. To give an idea of visiting the parks based on attractions last time I was at Dreamworld was December, Movie World March. Either of these two coasters at Dreamworld instead of Buzzcut would have seen me back there sooner. Levithan may be trimmed but I will say visually it is a nice looking ride and something I wouldn't complain about seeing down here. Shambhala does have its interesting looking "&" curve though. Major additions it seems this year looks to be year of the B&M. Looking forward to a non-B&M coaster in Manta at SW San Diego, layout looks good and damn the trains look great.

Guessing it is also the reason why our Vanilla Coke tastes better. Their stuff seems watered down for some reason.

Whilst on the topic of soft drinks and refills Holiday World have posted their free unlimited drink line-up for this year. They may be Pepsi drinks but the fact the park offers them free and unlimited is a great move from a park that is family owned and not part of a major chain. I will say I would like to see unlimited refills at our parks even if it is at a cost.

From an article on the Malaysian Leogland. "In the pipelines are plans to bring Legoland to South Korea, Australia and Japan." http://www.nst.com.my/streets/johor/legoland-park-to-offer-seven-themed-areas-1.16781 Doesn't seem a matter of if but when. Somewhat sure this has been posted on here before though.

There are some old park maps at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.207900969252381.46150.193396114036200&type=3 They only go back to 1993 though.

Sea World, so Sea Turtles maybe? Crocodiles seem an odd option to me.

Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)

White Water World is open 1:30pm-5pm which is why I didn't say that the water parks are closed. -

Umm, unless you are a fan of the carpark I wouldn't bother going. Movie World along with the other dry parks is closed tomorrow. Aussie World is bucking the trend and doing twilight hours, 1.30pm to 8pm. -
At a guess I would say they are walking in the background around 8 sec into the clip.

I too have had audio so the working audio being a myth is busted. It seems to be a lucky dip. When I was there last on the last ride I noticed the car in-front had the audio set to the off position whilst mine had audio.

Love how in the bottom corner it is said that building a casino would get people to the Gold Coast. I guess Jupiters isn't counted as a casino.

I wouldn't necessarily say they are being cheap by running one train. As has been mentioned they only have the single train available now but if they require it they will look into getting a second one. I would call it playing it safe. Pointless spending money on two trains if there was a minimal improvement on rider numbers and it was to remain a almost walk on attraction. -
The White Water World expansion plans aren't exactly top secret anyway. A search on the GCCC website looking in the right place for the right thing will reveal everything. I will say it would be nice to see next year something done in the water park side of things.

Maybe it was closed because the Aliens have finished their research and have headed back home.

Oziris is something I would have expected from a 30th Birthday coaster for Dreamworld and not a giant loop. Looks a great ride and just as well themed.

Must be school holidays again. The level and quality of posts has suddenly plummeted.

Looking at the photos posted by the Outsiders the park has done really well with the change and surprised me. It is kind of ironic that Dreamworld currently are installing attractions with a higher level of theming than their competition (unfortunately the ride experience hasn't matched that of the competition). I am waiting a few weeks until holidays are over and they have had a chance to get everything up and running properly before visiting. Sure they are kids rides which I won't ride awaiting components but I would prefer to see how the area looks with everything complete.
