So financial results for 2011-2012 have recently been released and I thought I'd make this topic as a stub for discussion when future results are released as well. Ardent Leisure on the whole improved but the theme park division suffered immensely. Revenue dropped 7.7% as a result of a 21.8% drop in attendance. The company blames this on the rainfall that the coast has received during the holiday periods. Their outlook mentions the destined for December this year. Full results presentation is available here. Village Roadshow also had a drop in profit for its Gold Coast parks ($33.2m to $29.3m) which could be partially attributed to a slight decrease in attendance of 300,000. The US water parks are looking like they will make a profit in the next financial year, settling with a loss of $800,000 this year. They report the best ever launch for the VIP pass this year and plan to spend between $25 and $30 million this financial year on the parks. Also, Wet'n'Wild Sydney is still scheduled to open in December next year. Full results presentation is available here. Below is an article from the Gold Coast Bulletin about the results: http://www.goldcoast...t-business.html Thoughts?

Ardent Leisure mentioned in their recent results presentation that the Kung Fu Panda ride is a thrill ride.

I think he was only suggesting to demote MDMC from being one of the Big 7.

Firstly, they are only going for a wold class water park... http://wetnwildsydne....au/vision.html Secondly, as of July 16, they still plan on having it up and running by the end of 2013. http://asx.com.au/as...&idsId=01314167

In the past, (while the show was running, not just after seasons concluded) you could walk around the auditorium and on the stage, you could watch through the window to the control room, watch a live feed on monitors, jump in a replica diary room chair etc. On some Sundays you could even watch (from a distance) rehearsals for the evictions. Except for seeing a camera run on a monitor, what else do you get for the $10? It seems they have just slapped a charge on all this previously free stuff because they can...

So basically what you could do for free without a world pass in previous years? Or am I missing something here?

So GateKeeper at Cedar Point was announced last Monday. As expected, it is a B&M Wing Coaster. Full details are below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9fLbdwq8_k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBAjdP_fA0Q More information can be found at http://www.cedarpoint.com/gatekeeper/

It's definitely in the same spot.

A scan of the relevant part of the advert... Definitely looks like a constrictor in the top corner.

Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City has been announced... http://silverdollarcity2013.com/

The picture released with the message "a trio of corkscrew turns" definitely points to White Water West's Constrictor. If it is, I'd like to see Wet'n'Wild to get 2 or more for capacity reasons. Any ideas on location?

Is there a reason it would need to fit with Jet Rescue? If proximity is your only reason, wouldn't it also have to fit with the Vikings Revenge Flume? -
Press release from a couple of weeks ago with some more details: http://about.dreamwo...-announced.aspx Also, there was a "Big Brother Cafe" operating throughout all the seasons at this location. Not sure about the broadcast inside though.

Hate to break it to you, but -
I thought it was about time to start this topic since announcement season is about to begin and a lot of information is already out there on some international additions for 2013. As with I'll try and keep this thread up to date but feel free to post anything you come across. Here's a few to get the ball rolling... Silver Dollar City As mentioned in other topics, Silver Dollar City is getting a Rocky Mountain designed wooden roller coaster. Not only is it getting the almost-a-full-inversion element it is also looking like it will have a double barrel roll towards the end of the ride. An official announcement is due out next week. Six Flags New England Six Flags New England are looking at getting the record of the tallest swing ride. They just received permission from the local council to build a Funtime Star Flyer to a height of up to 410 feet. The park was looking at installing one 385 feet tall. This follows other Six Flags parks installing "SkyScreamers" in the past two years. Embedded below is a pic of the current tallest which is just shy of the 385 feet mark. Cedar Point Cedar Point recently closed a couple of their rides in preparation for their 2013 addition. This was previously leaked by the local news to be a Bolliger & Mabillard Wing Coaster. A teaser campaign is currently underway. http://www.sanduskyr...ld-coaster-2013 Six Flags Magic Mountain Six Flags Magic Mountain also had a leak to the local news detailing a launched roller coaster named Full Throttle taking the place of the now defunct Log Jammer. http://articles.lati...rottle-03201207

From the pic, it seems the sign previously located outside the Avalanche is now on the outside of the dodgems building. However, the Dreamworld maintenance page seems to indicate that the dodgems will be around in November.

Since Dinosaur Island will be there until the end of the June/July holidays in 2013, I was originally thinking a September opening. But since they have started marketing it so soon, maybe it is for Easter? (this marketing though could have been a result of the recent water coaster leak) -

In relation to Wet'n'Wild Vegas, Screamscape posted the following today: http://www.screamsca...as.htm#WetnWild -
I personally would be against a King Cobra because it seems a bit too similar to the Kamikaze and because of its capacity issues. I'm thinking a White Water West Family Anaconda/Python/Rattler would be a nice fit.

Are you sure you're not getting confused with this proposal?

It actually says 166.7m. Super Tubes Hydrocoaster is 236m and if Wet'n'Wild only got one 166.7m in length, I think I'd be bit annoyed. For a park the size of WnW it needs a bit more. If WnW did get a water coaster though, I would really love to see them get a dueling master blaster like their sister park in Phoenix.

Toy Story Mania opened at Tokyo DisneySea a few weeks ago. One thing that I just came across was that the opening day line grew to a 400 minute wait time. A collection of videos showcasing the ride's queue and surrounds can be found here.
