  1. Their are some improvements in the concept image in the press release. Also worth noting Dreamworld are advertising a new "VIP Experience" for $1250 per adult and $500 per child. Includes wildlife experiences, gold ride express, a personal photographer for the day and more!
  2. I have this, along with a MW souvenir vhs that I have never seen.
  3. https://jointheparty.com.au is now live. Each event night at movie world also has a musical guest/performance. Tickets on sale sunday, elite/premier members can book now.
  4. Kevil Hill will not be returning as a laser tag, my contact at dreamworld has confirmed "Kevil Hill will be a scare attraction during our upcoming Screamworld events. The lazer tag has been retired"
  5. I don't think a hotel or resort in close proximity to the parks is feasible, a more residential with a hotel aspect would be more realistic.
  6. Given that Dreamworld's Digital Marketing team are not always on the ball, thought I should share this.
  7. Electric No bumping is one of the driving school "rules". Cars start in the position on the track they were left by the previous driver, if necessary a ride ops staff member will adjust the car. Several staff monitor the track helping out with potential issues and giving the "all clear" to start the ride. Separate lines for issuing a license and the ride.
  8. In my view, certainly! See this photo. I am partial to Moutain Dew and Pink Lemonade I felt like the video should "pop" a little . However rest assured that your feedback has been passed on to the relevant team for necessary action.
  9. What he said, I was on the ride when it got stuck during that day. Maintenance came and "manually" lowered the ride back into starting position without issue. I would speculate possibly the reason it does not do the more intense cycles is possibly because it would cause these issues to occur more frequently. Agreed. I am not a staunch supporter of either, I generally buy MAX on special or in general, or Coke Zero on other occasions. That said CocaCola is far superior to Pepsi in my (and judging on sales) most views. I have no issue with Dreamworld switching to Pepsi it is obviously a business decision. I would presume though Pepsi is a lot cheaper in both postmix and bottled variety and they are making more of a profit considering the cost has not gone down ($4.80 for 600ml) Recorded a video of Tail Spin on Thursday see below.
  10. I was at the soft opening yesterday and rode a few times, was great. My thoughts are it is a solid kids/family attraction, will serve Movie World well. Yes people have every right to be somewhat disappointed this is the replacement for the Looney Tunes River Ride but should not let that counter the fact they have done a great job here. The theming and attention to detail is top notch, the fact that kids can get their own souvenir license for free is great. Photos on my Facebook here. **Jordan please post photos to this thread rather than link to an external Facebook page. I haven't removed your link however please update your post.
  11. Renewals were no longer available for awhile, then they came back along with Buy 3 Get 1 Free for a week (August 24 - 31). Whilst renewals are still advertised on the front of ThemeParks.com.au I would say they are not currently avalible. That said the current offer is $99.99 for VIP Gold (which is the same as renewal was) it can be a little cheaper though...
  12. I enjoy JLAI, but have to agree that the finale is somewhat lacking. I personally preferred BATR2 but the crowds were much less than the "low" crowds JLAI has received. I would note it is true that it is generally a walk on on off peak days it does get a fair que on busy days. Personally I would have liked to see a new DC simulator ride. I have no internal knowledge but it would not surprise me if the ultimate reason behind BATR's closure was maintenance/running costs were getting unsustainable. It opened in 1992 and by 2011 the simulators probably needed substantial work. I disagree, AVPX and Zombie Evilution have much more repeatability in my opinion. A ride on JLIA never changes (other than how you act and the score you achieve) . Every game of Laser Skirmish is different.
  13. Fairly recent I believe although the same offer has been ongoing at Dreamworld for awhile. Village just seem to be matching it now.
  14. Worth noting for the cheapskates like me...
  15. Correct, $20 million is the correct figure as announced by VRTP (Storm Coast Press Release). They don't clarify what that covers in the press release but I figure it may include the removal of BT.
  16. It is interesting to see something is being done with the bridge, Sea Viper's rapid removal is one thing but that is another. I could see Sea Viper's rapid removal as being so not to have such a large object that is visible from near everywhere in the park being SBNO. Here is a digital copy of that GCB article, according to the local rag (Bulletin) the new train arrived in 2005!
  17. Despite the article saying it is "yet to be named". The website now has "Tail Spin" listed and "Triple Vortex" (new WWW slide)
  18. I think Theme Park Social Network may have got confused with the exhibit at the WB Studio Tour (which movie world has a competition to win a trip to). Full press release below.
  19. I have to agree with djrappa that customer dissatisfaction can be a downside, I like the signs at Six Flags Magic Mountain that really spell it out.
  20. Nope I heard some filming, presumably/possibly for the projected show scenes
