Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)

Im sure the company will later invest in a second train or maybe already has but is yet to arrive, but there is a lot more than just the initial costs. Trains have to under go repairs they also need to under go complete re builds after a certain amount of cycles or if it doesn't reach that it will be a certain time frame. The thing about the set up at Arkham is its very much like Jet rescue, If the ride is staffed correctly with one train you can still on most decent attendance days push a larger capacity then the manufacturers estimated one, that and keep the attraction running smooth. For rides like Jet Rescue and Arkham which would in most cases run with one train unless its a high peak period, the second train really only acts as a convenience when it comes to annual maintenance, Instead of downing the attraction for a long period of time to conduct a re build it can happen while the second train is in operation. -
Hi guys Not sure how many people on here are huge followers of Disney Parks projects, but in less than 11hrs Disneyland Paris is about the debut its first ever major Nighttime Spectacular Disney Dream's which is directed and created by a good friend of mine Steve Davison who i had the pleasure of meeting during my second trip to the Disneyland Resort in 2010. He is now the Vice President of Parades and Spectaculars for Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment. Steve has Directed and developed some amazing shows, most recent World Of Color and The Magic, The Memories and You! Well his brand new creation is nothing short of breathe taking. Disney Dreams is a combination of his two previous projects, were he has taken the major elements from each of them and fused them together to create true Disney Magic! This show is a combination of Water screens and jets taken from World Of Color and the use of 3D Projections from The Magic, The Memories and You! all of which is complimented by a truly Disney classical score recorded at the one and only Abbey Road Studios. Well Disney is giving everyone world wide the opportunity to watch it for the first time on a live online streaming from the Disneyland Paris You tube channel. Once you log onto the channel a special re themed page will direct you to the live streaming which will take place 6:30am AUS QLD time tomorrow morning. But just like any Disney event be sure to be there a little earlier than showtime! This is a opportunity most Disney fans wouldn't want to miss, and in this case its at a decent time, so be sure to check it out tomorrow morning. http://www.youtube.com/disneylandparis

I just want to say i like the fact that Movie World now has started to use seasons as opening dates like the US parks when it comes to new attractions it gives the park a much larger window to meet the demands and doesn't cut them short. Green Lantern great example was spending many days up to the christmas lead up telling guests that the attraction wouldn't be opening today. My opinion very wise move. -

That photo taken back a while ago was actually a set of seats from the decommissioned train which for some time now has been used as a spare parts train. Reason for it looking slightly different is because the boogie covers, and wheel guards had been removed. The seats were also missing hand grips and rails. Ultimately making the set of seats look completely different to anything we may have seen before. What we have to keep in mind is that it would have been a costly and pointless exercise to bring a couple of seats from a new train over just to sit in the maintenance bay for a while. You can't send those seats around there would simply be no momentum to make it to the end of its course. Even in the off chance it did. The rides system would fault due to the relays not being able to sensor the entire length of a train in its trim brake sections. Ultimately causing the attraction to estop even before it reaches the lift. The in station relays wouldn't all be activated by two sets of seats. Bringing it over fit the track is also ruled out. A manufacture can conduct a track dimension mould. Which then will give them a basic outline, that way when the trains arrive they can make any simple adjustments with the wheel boogie ensuring it is a snug fit but not too tight eliminating the train from stalling on a tight section of track. The trains that do arrive will look completely different to anything we have seen before when it comes to a SLC these babies will be new and more modern. -
Inside Today:the Bat, the Bunny & The Bermuda Triangle

As far as im aware SS was never ever going to Co-exist with Nick. It would be a clash or contracts. I dont think the park ever stated that was the case either it was more so a assumption made when the quote was given that no changes would be made to the kids area. -
I have to agree that is simply amazing. The level of detail is fantastic. If you ever get a chance to experience a Scooby evac from the main room using the stairwell that takes you down to the gift shop area you will get the chance to pass the unload area for this attraction. There is no theming or track ect but you can clearly see where you would get off, directly behind the western facades. I would also like to just add the staff operating this attraction were incredible. Its disappointing that parks like Movie World and Sea World literally have no attractions left that allow staff to conduct themselves in a theatrical manor. These days our parks are after "Attraction Attendants" bubbly, safety conscious people that now have to sit a group interview. Back in those days you were Auditioning for the role as a "Attractions Presenter" were you would have to literally audition to get the job. Our parks havn't dropped the ball or standard when it comes to looking for new employees, but they have stopped allowing them to explore the opportunity put on a show!!!

Jacko not to mention LTRR and BATR2 really cant be added to your list. So you have two attractions closed. Not to mention you would think someone like your self, who i assume is a theme park junkie should know better. As soon as Feb hits annual maintenance hits. No annual maintenance is conducted during peak season times, very much like training or hiring. its stupid to do so. You want to ensure for the peak periods everything is in full swing. I shouldn't even have to really explain this its basic common sense. Back on topic!!! No matter the manufacture of the trains, or the changes made to the attraction. Im pretty sure the product that will be provide will be of a very high quality. Im really looking forward to seeing it all come together and experience the final product. -
Happy Feet has been replaced, with the addition of SpongeBob Squarepants 3D. The movie is the exact one posted by Luke. It goes for 5mins but is a fantastic movie with guests coming back for more and more. Every time i have seen it there has been a HUGE que of people waiting to see the movie as they run sessions every 20mins from 12pm.

What rides have you gotten stuck on, or have seen broken down?

Im sure the changes when made next year will bring a whole new light to the attraction. Lethal Weapon is a very outdated theme for the attraction. Teens specific probably wouldn't even be aware that the attractions theme and name is of a reflection of the movies. I know that even some older folk don't even realise. Lets just say in some time to come Lethal might just become the home of some pretty famous crooks!!! To be honest im quite excited yet again for the additions that we will see in our parks come the end of next year. -
Really!!! "They Forced us" There is no force for god sake! you have every god dam right to do what you wish, you choose to stay and watch and wait. Plus if i know Disney you would have received consistent pre recorded Audio announcements similar to this: "Ladies and Gentleman boys and girls due to unfavorable wind and weather conditions it is possible that tonight’s performance of believe in the holiday magic our fireworks spectacular may be cancelled. A final decision has not been made in the hope of better weather conditions at show time. We will continue to try to present the show as scheduled and apologize for any inconvenience. We hope you enjoy the rest of your visit with us during this holiday season." (Edit: I know you all have that typical Disney parks voice over voice playing in your head as you read that spiel!!!) Cruiseshipfan i think you have exaggerated that scenario just a little. Not to mention im sure Disney can handle situations a lot better than that they have been in the business for over 56 years. Plus I know from our parks when i ride is shut or a show has to be cancelled mid show or all together there is legitimately a decent reason why. Not to mention the staff still have to remain on site and assist in guest relating. So there not exactly sitting around doing it for shits and giggles. Labour is still to be spent, You have un happy guests, Its a instant cause for guest complaints. I don't know any company that would initiate that just because they couldn't be bothered putting on a show for you instead we will tell you we can't do it because of high winds! (Or so they said).

All more modern day ride vehicles will have a recognition system. In most cases called a Min harness accept. All harnesses or restraints must close into that min harness accept position in order to allow the PLC to recognise that the attraction is safe for dispatch. In saying that though an attraction like lethal weapon in its current state the train can be sent with every harness up because there is no recognition system in place. To conquer that Loaders will do a visual check down the train on both sides prior to giving "Load all Clear". The attractions supervisor will then also conduct a final check as the train descends onto the elevator. This method is also conducted at other attractions like Cyclone, Cork back in the day and many others. But what you will find is that many of our parks are simply adding this kind of technology to there existing trains and or attractions without having to go the whole hog and purchasing a replacement vehicle with the systems when its not needed.

Other side of the monorail??? you talking about the opposite end which would be the cabin used for wheel chairs and prams!!!

I agree with you there 100% joz, Im sorry but how many of you have really taken a step back to really look at the products we have received this year; - Buzzsaw - Shockwave - Green Lantern - Nickelodeon (Which includes) -New Dora show -New Parade beyond anything ever to this standard in Australia! -New Aqua Slash zone themed to Nick at the Sea World Resort - The Announcment of all the additions/Changes at Dreamworld for DreamWorks - New AOS show with all new production enhancements and upgrades - A bigger and better Halloween Fright Nights - Soon to come another spectacular 9 nights of White Christmas - Sesame Street Beach getting all new themeing and a serious dose of sprucing! - Jet Stunt Extreme Not to mention I know for a fact that VRTP hasn't gone half ass on the products there providing this christmas. There all going to be nothing short of spectacular. You have to stop and really think yes we may have lost 3 attractions which were to the point were we are looking at ride systems close to 20 years in age that were just far beyond repair. But its not as if the company sat on there ass and did NOTHING!!! There is time like MickeyD mentioned to open up more family/dark attractions but at this point in time the above 11 things are what are parks are focused on. Are you really going to sit there and say they need to be doing more at this stage? I bet that planning is probably underway for everything that is to happen next year, changes to lethal is chugging around the rumour mill. What will we see come of BT, LTRR & BTAR? I know that everything that is happing for Nick has been in works for over a year now. I could imagine Green Lantern just as long. These projects take time, Money and a lot of hard work by people we don't even take time to consider who bring us some pretty freaking awesome attractions. Not always will they be "World class" but they are pretty dam good for our market and what we can afford and work with in this current financial state. To finish this off take a look at this time last year; - White Christmas a sold out smash!!! - Castaway Bay a real themeing spectacle that we hadn't seen in a long time featuring 3 attractions - Penguin Encounter - 4 Looping waterslides, Aqua Loop - 3 pay per play attractions at W'n'W - A amped up Halloween Fright Nights with our first set of Franchised Mazes - Illuminate - New 4D Movie Journey to the Centre of the Earth - New 3D Movie Happy Feet - The lair, new exhibit at Dreamworld - The wedgie new water slide for WWW - TOT II Yet while we were seeing all this unravel this years new Attractions and Events were being put together. You can't sit there and tell me that your atleast a little satisfied by what our parks are doing with what they possibly can. Quite your complaining!!! Added TOT II to the list really shows how we kinda forget the stuff that has actually been done!!

Themeparkgc your correct in the fact that yes the parks boarder was extended out into the broadwater which allowed for there to be the addition of the dedicated water park later down the track. But this didn't happen until after the flume ride was constructed. In order to access anything further down from those water slides at the castle you would have to catch a boat which was docked at a small boardwalk which was of a "L" shape joining the Dockside Tavern Restaurant and Customs House together which now days is used for the SSB gift shop and the carousel is whacked on the end of the building (Customs House). So SSB used to be filled with water and used to have the small dock and board walk. Quick little fact: Members of the first Ski team at Sea World back in the day used to stay in Customs House on short visits! You would then catch the boat from there underneath the london bridge (that ofcourse never happened until Cork was built) to the back of the park were Dolphin cove now is and there used to be a adventure "island" playground similar to the pirates lair at Disneyland. Now back on track! Those slides then later got relocated like Joz mentioned, followed by there removal and the removal of the mountain they would intwine around. To be later replaced by 2 other basic body slides then came Castaway Bay.
-
You wait till Sea World's parade opens in December, now that is something that will impress. Its Definitely going to be a parade like we have never seen EVER before here in Australia. Then you might have something to complain about when it comes to Movie Worlds parade. Its for sure going to give WBMW a run for its money!!!
-
Exactly, but i was answering the question that so many other people on here found so hard to answer!!!
-
The only removal of any beach ride was the helicopters which has been for some time now. Trucks is just down at the moment for its annual maintenance.
-
Cruiseshipfan i really think your jumping the gun a little!!! All Projects have a timeline. My guess is that based on the fact that there are no disruptions to the entrance area of this attraction, seeing it is a little distance away they are able to begin work on the front area without getting in the way of work that has to be completed to the track structure. Over the past few days it looks as if they have been completing final work to the track, supports and the whole structure, which now allows trains to be fitted and the wheel bogies to be alined correctly. Which like gazza had mentioned were looking at atleast 5 weeks for themeing to be put in place which is more than enough time. Also keeping in mind the fact that were probably looking at an official launch date of boxing day like we do most attractions, with white christmas acting as a possible soft opening/launch. So with that in mind if there is some minor set back the park still has another 3 weeks to play with on top of the 5 if they didnt launch the attraction until boxing day. These companies aren't stupid they know exactly what there doing, Warner Bros. Movie World alone has had 20 years experience, having pulled together a fairly decent line up of attractions in time for a boxing day opening.

On the twelfth night of christmas movie world gave to me........

All of our Gold coast parks conduct these kinds of drills for many of our attractions all the time, for the event that a worst case scenario were to occur.
