I agree with a lot of the previous comments. Make sure you delete any references to previous incarnations of your site and any mention of the park chat show that didn't happen. Imagine what it would be like if someone stumbled across your site for the first time - how confusing would it be? Don't admit defeat and be uncertain about your page. Maybe one of the reasons Clayton has been so successful is that he is consistently at the parks taking pictures and working on his page. It might not be to my taste, but he certainly has his followers. Check out your demographics - where are they from? Do they want local GC information or are you going to cover parks from the rest of Australia? Use video - people always want to see moving images in their feed. A perfect viral video goes from anywhere from a couple of seconds to a minute and tells some kind of story. Even if you can only get to a park one day a week, split the video and photos up and spread them out through the week. And if you are ready for a larger audience, put your money where your mouth is and advertise. Oftentimes people don't even know your page exists. You can advertise from as little as $7 a day. Can't afford to advertise, then use hashtags. Better still, create good content. You got to remember it's a privilege being on someone's feed. Be consistent - make sure you set a pace that you can maintain and be in it for the long haul.

^Yes blame Parkz for that!? ? Maybe we should ban skipping ropes and beach balls at schools.

^It seems like a promotional thing, but there's no link from their Facebook page, except to their season pass page. https://m.facebook.com/AdventureWorldOfficialPage/?tsid=0.5697653475217521&source=typeahead -
Backpacks and small cases you could put in a locker. We often use the boot of a hire car or travel lightly. Concierges at hotels are pretty good, but that's no fun if you have to backtrack to Surfers.

I'm saving mine for SuperBatman, which I've been assured is the correct title on the new duelling coasters.

Yeah, I pressed the button to see what happened and I couldn't revote. Does that mean I get to vote for MDMC?

I think we need more fan Facebook pages to get the word out about all the closures. Maybe MW should make a list of what's open, instead.

I think a mine train ride would be perfect (especially considering WA's long mining history - you could include some local references). I'm still hoping they'll use Gerstlauer again - Firechaser Express clone, anyone? -

The platinum season pass seems to be much better value this year. It's $245 and limited to the first 600 people and includes two free fast passes. Great to see it has the 50% discount for 8 friends and 40% off a cabana per family (but not during the busy part of the season). I presume you can only purchase the platinum passes at AW (and not online) because of the special merchandise that comes with it - if it was available online I would get it straight away. Still a bit mystified about the photo ID (so if you bring your driver's licence, they're going to print it on the back of the pass?) or do you need to bring a passport-sized photo? https://adventureworld.net.au/season-passes/platinum-season-pass/ @Adam C - got your cabana booked yet? -

Adventure World's early bird season pass sale is on now. Also noticed the new members' entrance and the Summer Nights season. I wonder what that involves? https://adventureworld.net.au/season-passes/standard-season-pass/ -

There's always the Pirates themed area near the Bounty and the buccaneer boats - the area where the lake used to be. -

Looks like a good coaster, regardless. You could say Abyss has a horror theme, yet I've seen plenty of six year olds go on it. Yeah, Adventure World needs a good family coaster and/or a flume or whitewater raft ride. Especially in summer, a log ride would kill it. Even if it was something as small as Splashdown or Aussie World's The Plunge. -

Wouldn't it be cool if they had a large Doomsday Destroyer figure above the twisted or broken metal, a bit like the Rampage character at Adventure World. -

The only thing more boring than seeing so many photos of the same thing is reading the same snarky comments. Thanks for contributing everyone! Keep the photos coming. -
I think Ash was disappointed you weren't watching, Alex. Good job TPN, although I was a little disappointed that they didn't use the visuals from Skype as well. Not weighing in on the Parkz up charge controversy (although I am a fully paid up member) I think you'll find most Australian theme park fan pages devotees of Parkz, anyway. We are grateful for the site and want to direct traffic your way.

Not a lot of activity around Adventure World at the moment. The car park work has yet to commence. Some of the go kart shells are being replaced or redecorated. The filling in of the lake looks like it still has a way to go (although it is hard to tell) and the Koi pond looks untouched. There is some activity in the Dragons Kingdom area around the wading pools. It does make me wonder if we will see the Kids Tornado going in here soon. There were also signs for truck drivers in this area. The Freefall is currently standing at the back of the park, still in its original colours. -

Here are the council details for AW's car park revamp - sounds like big dollars are going to be spent. That's a few million already this year. That's quite s bit for a non capex year. It starts around pg 60. http://www.cockburn.wa.gov.au/Meetings_and_Minutes/Minutes_and_Agendas/4043-ocm_mins_120516.pdf -

^Yeah, you wouldn't be going many places if you flew Qantas International from Perth. Singapore and HK are like quiet suburban starter parks and are quite similar in many ways. The Japanese parks are awesome, but will eat you alive. They are immensely popular and are the equivalent to the Florida parks in terms of scope and size. I would say 95% of people in Singapore would be fluent in English. Maybe 60% in HK (like a waiter would speak English but a busboy/kitchen hand wouldn't). And in Japan probably 80% do, but they're pretty reluctant to use it. You have to presume that most of their parks' shows are in Japanese. The Singapore dollar is not far from parity with ours, which makes the maths pretty easy. Forgot to add, Legoland Malaysia is a long bus trip/limo ride away in Johore, Southern Malaysia. And why wouldn't your husband want to relax in Singapore? -

Have avoided the Sea Life Aquarium in Melbourne as it's so expensive. Tues/Wed are definitely the best days for USS. I think their tickets are more expensive on the weekend. I'm not sure about return passes as you can pretty much do everything you want in a day there and it is open longer hours (they do have a reasonably priced 6 month pass). Usually, with careful planning, you can avoid a fast pass, although I did get one in early January one time and it was helpful at best. Weekday entry price is $74, whilst the unlimited fast pass is $70 (that's pretty simple maths). Their main school holidays are now (the month of June) and around the Christmas/New Year period. Dejiki's pictures of the queues at the moment are interesting. You might also want to avoid the Grand Prix time and their national day (August 9). The Jurassic Park River Adventure is very different from the versions in the US. It's still a hoot and lots of fun and worth going on for different reasons. I once went on it six times in one morning and got drenched. For me Transformers would have to be one of, if not, the best ride in the world. The technology is amazing. Wait times vary from 10 minutes at the start of the morning to 45 minutes on a quiet day (2 or 3 hours during busy times). Compared to the Japanese parks, USS is a breeze to get around. In fact, I couldn't recommend a better place to go overseas for your first time away from Australia. It will amaze you what they have down with a city/state with only 5 million people. -

For us in Perth, USS is almost like our local park. Catch a taxi to Sentosa. The MRT(local train system) is really good and cheap, but when you do the numbers if it costs $2 for the train fare for each person and they're now charging $4 for the monorail out to Sentosa from Vivocity(it's free the other way), if there's more than one of you it's cheaper to get a taxi, which will be about $10-$15 from Orchard Road, which is where I like to stay. Hotels I recommend: The Quincy, a boutique hotel (all inclusive, but more expensive) http://www.stayfareast.com/en/hotels/the-quincy-hotel.aspx The York Hotel (which is just opposite, cheaper, and very popular with Australians) http://www.yorkhotel.com.sg/ They're about a 5 minutes walk from Orchard Road. Don't forget to go to the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park. They do tickets which include all of the biological gardens, but at least get to the zoo if you can. If you do the aquarium (which I find overcrowded and overrated) be sure to visit the Maritime Experiential Museum and its Typhoon Theatre (which is now a $2 add on, I think). Sentosa also has an Underwater World, which has a dolphin show, but it has seen better days. Whilst the train and bus system (with its ez-link cards) is cheap, you'll be hard pressed to pay more than $30 for a taxi ride to anywhere on the island, and you'll save half an hour on travel time. Whatever you do, do not hire a car, that would be foolish. USS is a great little park. Transformers is still the most popular ride there. Be sure to catch the first show of the day of Waterworld(around 12-12.45). BSG is pretty busy now that its capacity is halved. You also need to get to the Jurassic Park River Ride early, especially if it opens an hour after the park opens. The slow loaders/kids rides also get busier later on too. I would recommend getting to the Puss in Boots ride within the first hour of the park's opening. 'Madagascar', 'Shrek 4D', 'The Mummy, Lights, Camera, Action!' almost never get busy, so go as many times as you want (they're great places to cool off in the afternoon). And not forgetting my Singaporean blogger of choice, Dejiki. Just think of him as their 'Slick'. http://dejiki.com/ -
Be careful what you wish for. We've had plenty of abandoned parks.

^Push would agree. Depending on its soft mode, Doomsday Destroyer, is probably something I wouldn't go on as I suffer from motion sickness. I've done Tailspin and Pandamonium(soft style) and survived okay. The big coaster, I would definitely go on, but a lot of people I know struggle with anything worse than SDSC. Last time I was at MW two of us went on the coasters all afternoon and the other two checked out the characters and the parade. I think there's always room for more dark rides, flume rides or good stunt shows. I like the ratio that Disney and Universal have of dark rides. We should definitely be concentrating on getting more family rides into the parks as there's still a deficit of things that families can do together.
